First for Magnus did nothing wrong
third for magnus should be publicly executed for his shameful behavior towards hans, the game of chess, and sportsmanship in general
>>86131837Threadly Fischer quote.
Reading this with a board is changing my life and afterlife
I think chess was irrevocably damaged as a game when computers started playing at a level that's beyond humans. Before that point "cheating" was functionally a non-issue since both players saw the board at all times - what are you gonna do, slip an extra queen out of your sleeve? No. To cheat was to take an impossible action, easy to detect both during and after a game. But now? Now just playing extremely well is indistinguishable from cheating. If somebody genuinely has a brilliant stroke of genius and makes a play that catches the opponent with his pants down, that looks indistinguishable from cheating. Because you're supposed to play as well as you can, incredibly well, better than anyone - but not _too_ well. Not that well. Playing that well is cheating. You gotta play more shittily. But not that shittily that you lose. You gotta hit the sweet spot. And that is an absurd contradiction in goals. Put that in any other sport, any other game that's played seriously, and people will think you mad. It's literally the "anything that beats me is cheating" scrub fallacy except it's indistinguishable from reality.
>>86131881>As we have already done before, FIDE calls for reinforcing the cooperation between major online platforms, private events and top players - most of whom have already expressed their will to join efforts with FIDE.>FIDE is prepared to task its Fair Play commission with a thorough investigation of the incident, when the adequate initial proof is provided, and all parties involved disclose the information at their disposal. HAHAHAHAH hansisters... they will allow chess dot com to make Hans' online cheating record public (he was banned September 5). It's over. Better look for another meme, and Hans for another job.
>>86131875I imagine it can't be helped past a certain size, but wish each piece was more visually distinct+came in cream & black instead
>>86131886I like this one. It's motivational.
>>86131917Wonder how Fagnus will cope after he gets lifetime banned and has his titles stripped from him.
Can't stop El Magnufico.

>>86131981shouldn't the white square be on the player's right?
>>86131881>FIDE has led the fight against cheating for many yearsWhat, by having that shitter Regan automatically clear anyone over 2500? He won't even divulge if his statistical methods picked up on Hans' admitted online cheating, so "cooperation" my ass. They want everyone to shut up and keep respecting the status quo of security theater. Chesscom and playmagnus are going to use this to slap their asses.
>>86132004How many tanks of copium are you on right now?

>>86132041Fischer hated (((America))).
>>86131994Yes, but marketing people and product designers don't always know how to actually set up a board.
>>86132046Anyone that truly loves America must come to hate her at some point.
Realistically, and every data scientist who has been trying to find an anti-cheating algorithm should admit it, it's impossible to prove a cheater at the super GM level using a statistical analysis, because they could cheat one or two times per game and still get a decisive advatange, and they don't play enough game to generalize stuff. An algo like that could make a player look suspicious but you should never stop at what an algorithm tells you without doing further investigation like finding who helped him or how he cheated, because who's to say that the guy didn't came up with the engine move on his own ?
>>86132004>He won't even divulge if his statistical methods picked up on Hans' admitted online cheatingHe doesn't talk about it because he doesn't have data from that era, he said in the long interview that the only data he has on Hans is from the last 2 years or so.
>>86132083>literally grasping for every straw you can find in order to not have to admit that Fagnus Cucksen is a bad player and has never legitimately beaten someone he wasn't friends with.
>>86132156It reads like he snorted a line of coke before making that statement. Lifting a fridge with one arm is impossible, is he implying that beating Magnus with the black pieces is also impossible ? That's his argument ?
>chimps better at memorizationLooks like this is settled.
>>86132178He's saying Hans the Fraud's explanations are retarded.
>Final is going to have less viewers than quarter finalChess24bros....
>>86131908Fundamentally, chess is a game that lacks a human element (randomness, social dynamics, or hidden information) and as a result it was doomed the moment that people realized that the optimal way to play was just to memorize a ton of shit.
>>86132178>is he implying that beating Magnus with the black pieces is also impossible ? That's his argument ?That's literally been the argument all along. Magnus is so up his own ass that he believes beating him is impossible, especially for a new guy. And his dicksuckers share his delusion.
I volunteer to examine the pusys of female contestants for cheating devices
>>86132156danny drawing on his real experience of being repeatedly fooled by the old “I just lifted a fridge with one arm” trick
>>86131908>Now just playing extremely well is indistinguishable from cheatingNot true.
>>86132322Explain how you can magically differentiate between somebody having a brilliant, unlikely idea of his own and somebody receiving that brilliant, unlikely idea from a computer. Keep in mind that people are not consistent and will not play consistently.
Hans never cheated against Magnus but he should have
Keymer's position against Magnus right now is the worst. He has plenty of material but he's just stuck. Suffocating.

What the fuck there is a tournament taking place right now? Hanschads, is it possible that chess exists outside our messiah? That’s bizarre t bh

Black to move. Who would you prefer to be in this position? Black has a queen and 2 connected passed pawns but white has the bishop pair and is probably going to pick up a pawn in the queenside. I feel like black should have the upper hand but I'm not sure.

>>86132795Magnus engages in flattery campaigns to protect his status. See how he subdued Alireza and neutered him? Hans is intractable, though, so he makes Magnus panic.
>>86133390I played around with the engine. The position is complicated but it seems that after the checks black queens one pawn that ends up getting traded for a bishop. After that black, just checks the white king from every side and it's impossible to make progress. The queen is such a strong piece in an empty board.

>>86134018Please to be showing some proof that Hans cheated during the games vs Magnus
Hans: Magnus, you're a chess player. So am I. Now, please tell me how does one cheat in the Sinqfield Cup. Not just getting leaked prep. But cheat. I'd love to know.Magnus: I can't.Hans: Are you stupid?Magnus: No.Hans: Then why can't you?Magnus: I... I don't see how one could do it. But you did.Hikaru: Enough. I'll go to a proctologist office. From there, I can look right down into Hans' asshole. I'll see it with my own... my own eyes.
>The world champion asks you to put additional security>The challenger asks you to put additional securitySeriously though, what was wrong with Sinquefield cup?
It is over, reddit is against Hans now. He will be forgotten and go an hero in a year
>>86134018There's zero proof. Your skitzo reddit theories about buttplugs are not proof. Sinquefield, FIDE, and Regan have all sided against you.
>>86134056Nothing. I don’t remember who say this but that person said that there are a lot of top GMs that have cheated in the past online but nothing has been done about them. Fagsen and Fatman complaining about a GM that had cheated online in the past wasn’t really anything new to them
>>86131881>Whatever it is online or "over the board"It is over Hansbros, Hans himself admitted it as if it does not matter. It turned out it does
>>86133995No, he just knows the game. It's like arguing with a tranny.
>>86134092NNOOOOOOOOO!!!!!q111THERE IS SO PROOFERINO!!!!!11-‘!
>>86134100Yeah, Parham (current elo 2721). Magnus also had no problems playing him.
>>86134130Imo this only implies Hans's cheating past was more extreme and he doesn't come clean of it. Chess.com's reply to Hans and Hans not defending himself aligns with it
>>86134161What the vast majority of people are interested in is whether Hans cheated against Magnus at Sinquefield. They already know about Hans' chess.com past, but as Parham has shown, past cheaters can still become strong legit players.
>>86133464Two more weeks
>>86134205>past cheaters can still become strong legit players. This, I think, is the cognitive hang-up people have that prevents them even conceiving of Hans as a non-cheater over the board. It doesn't seem fair that a cheating asshole can have unrealized potential, but the universe isn't fair.
Imagine being such a whiny little faggot home boy that you have to attack your adversary with conspiracy theories and lies because you got absolutely destroyed for everyone to see. I bet >our boy had to drop out because he was harassed by Magnus and his queer gang. Hell, I bet Magnus has has only been this far by cheating himself, and >our boy found a way around it. Fuck Magnus and you Magnettes.
>>86134205It hard to prove that someone cheated if your security didn't detect his methods beforehand. You should catch or prevent that before the games, which imo what Magnus believes Sinquefield failed to provide so I have no doubts of Hans being a strong player. But this only makes it more dangerous. Magnus and Kasparov says how little info you need to gain a significant edge over other players. And Maxim (kek) says with 2600, you would be very hard to be detected if you cheat smart.
I'm not at all surprised that 4chan is filled with people who think Hans is legit.Bet nobody in here is >2k elo, too.
After what age should cheating result in a lifetime ban? Hans was 16 when he last cheated but is still allowed to participate.
>he is cheating>also, cheats himselfStrambule times, is he it?
>>86134332I am >2k elo otb but I am on Magnus' side. L o l.
Hans cheated, but only twice, and only the two times he was caught. He's just so bad at cheating whenever he tried it he got caught right away.
>>86134335>Hans was 16 when he last cheatedThat is what he claims so, chesscom says otherwise. I think it is not just the age but number of incidents. If you caught multiple times then it means you will try it every time you think you can get away with it
>opponent plays the wayward queen attackwhy must all my games be boring
daily reminder that if hans has been cheating, anyone who's beat him has just been a better cheater.
>>86134356>chesscom says otherwiseno they don't. they haven't clarified which claims of his they contest.
>believing in (((Magnus)))
>>86134374I guess that is true. They are saying there are stuff that contradicts with his statements, which may or may not mean that he cheated past age 16But Hans said he cheated once around age 12 and then 16 and chess com claims that is not true. Either he cheated for longer periods, in between or after 16. I doubt they would ban him for something he did before he was 16It is up to Hans to come clean on this one and what chess com means
>believing Hans, student of (((Maxim Dlugy)))
>be shook by 2600>play 87%>lose>use status and jewish chess.com puppetmaster connections to accuse 2600 and attempt to save face>provide no proof>string reddit sycophants along with heckin epic innuendoyou are here>become irrelevant>zoomer fans move on to alireza, hans, pajeet younsters>ding world domination for 10 years
>>86134368Nobody denies that Hans is a relatively strong GM capable of winning some tough games. He doesn't have to ask Stockfish for every single move, all he needs is help at critical moments and after that he can play on his own.
>>86134433>alirezaHe needs to rediscover his Iranian anger that struck terror into Magnus' heart. Living in France and being brought into the Rensch orbit of betacuck good-goy streamers has made him soft.
>>86134433Ding being the #1 chess player would be actually fun. Imagine the constant seething by Indians and plebbitors
>>86134447>Nobody denies that Hans is a relatively strong GMHis performance isn't really better than "relatively strong GM." The Magnus upset is the only noteworthy thing but wasn't exactly some statistical anomaly. Several GMs have said that Magnus just played poorly, and it's possible he simply psyched himself out over Hans' past.
>>86134457Agreed. He's on a glide path to being another '''super''' gm jobber like So/MVL/Aronian
>>86134345>I am on Magnus' sideI think most good players are. Even if Hans didn't cheat in St. Louis, he almost certainly has cheated OTB in the past
>>86134494>he almost certainly has cheated OTB in the pastOk, how? Which tournament?
Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Magnus is dropping out of all his titles!
>>86134489>'''super''' gm jobber like So/MVL/AronianIt's funny when you think about all the guys who used to have 2800+ rating.
Hans is a very strong GM who just has incredibly good opening and early game prep. When he gets to the midgame and endgame he tends to lose ground to stronger GMs but in the early game he can pull off miracles that win him games against technically superior players like Magnus.
>>86134365Climb rating ladder more. The point where you stop seeing that is lower than you'd expect. However at that point you'll welcome it as it's going to be an easier game than if they played a good opening. The only early queen thing I still see besides the scandi is against sicilian. 1.e4 c5 2.Qh5. The point is they're hoping for the 2...Nf6 line where white swaps e pawn for c pawn. White is okay there (it's -0.2) and has some opportunity for tricks. I prefer the 2...e6 version just defending pawn and allowing me to tempo the queen on the following move without any theatrics in the center. e6 does allow early f4 grand prix style stuff but it's fairly toothless at that point.
Who's ready for #17 Hans?
>>86134494>Even if Hans didn't cheat in St. Louis, he almost certainly has cheated OTB in the pastalready throwing in the towel on sinquefield and looking for movement elsewhere, eh?
No one would dope before the Olympics, this is ridiculous. They are best of the best and security is great. It is legit that my boy Tyrone beat Bolt by a full second. And Tyrone's past when he doped in high school is irrelevantOh wait wrong thread, carry on
>>86134543This probably seemed way more epic in your head
Why the tournaments don't want a stream delay? Especially the ones that are not open to public already? It is such a simple thing that would making most cheating methods impossible
>>86134571>Why the tournaments don't want a stream delay? They seem to value truly live broadcast. Sinquefield even lamented the loss of it when they announced the increased measures.
>>86134517>all the guys who used to have 2800+ rating. The chess establishment took them aside and said, "Look, you don't have a face like Magnus' face. We can't market chess with your face. >>86131908Centipawns ruined chess
How do you recover from this position as black?I saw he had forced repetition but assumed he wasn't gonna go for it so I went Rh5, then he blundered beyond belief with g4 and I mated him, but I felt pretty screwed until that moment
>>86135491>is this where I should start memorising various different opening lines? No, that'd be 2500
>>86135922Honestly you have to be top 3 to even consider looking at theory.
>>86135529Happy birthday anonHope you get a nice chess book
>>86135920Perhaps d5? This is a double attack on his Bishop and Knight, and ensures that Nh6 is no longer a double check.
Chess players are such douchebags, it really is such an unpleasant experience every time. I have no idea how there can be so much ego in a world where 99% of people are retarded. Guy was white in a cramped but not even losing position. But the issue is that he had come out blitzing like I was too stupid to be believed, even though he didn't know me, much too stupid to waste his time on, but here he found himself by necessity... suddenly he realized he didn't crush me in ten moves, became disillsioned and simply resign. Great game dude, happy to share this experiencd with you. Blocked.Next game guy blunders all his pieces and refuses to resign all the way until ladder mate, calling me names in chat. Buddy you were 800 points lower rated, are you seriously upset? Blocked.Block, block, block. Oh hey you're cool... no wait he's letting his time run out now. Blocked. It's not just "that's the way ppl are haha, boys will be boys" I spent some time playing Shogi and it was literally never once like this. In fact I would play higher rated guys who would themselves offer rematches, on more than one occassion.
>>86136061Also frees up your Bishop to either help defend or to take h3 (and if gxh3, Qg3 probably wins you the game).
>>86136071>Next game guy blunders all his pieces and refuses to resignThat's what all beginner chess training says you should do.
will the russian super gms get drafted?
>>86136123I'd hope they don't say to call people names while playing.
>>86136123No... no, it's not. And you can't cite one example. Unless you're mistaking "play out a losing game to see if you can get better at creating chances when worse" with "don't resign ever, including when you have no pieces" as I suspect you are.
>>86136123Really annoying OTB as well, especially when you'd both be better off having a decent break before the next round. But they'll use up all their 90 minutes and whatever increment they've accumulated while being down a piece.
do you guys unironically support hans, or are you just trolling? can't understand why anyone would support known cheater hans over good sportsman magnus.
>>86136189jealousy breeds contempt
>>86136189I'll stop supporting him when magnus actually brings out proof. he has yet to say anything at all.
I'm supporting Hans because I haven't heard a cogent explanation of how he cheated at Sinquefield. The explanations I've seen collapse when you show any interest in pursuing them.
>>86136187If your opponent really has no pieces, you should either mate him pretty quickly or he deserves a chance to make you run out of time. I think it's fair.
>>86136224You don't wake up suddenly with no pieces. It means you've been playing out a resignable game way beyond the point of being a nuissance. To still not resign at that point is not "fair" it's just emphasizing what a mental child you are. There are times to try to swindle stalement but systematically losing all your pieces and never resigning along the way isn't it.
>>86136189I will support him until there is proof that he actually cheated otb (and I mean any otb event. Little matters if his win against Magnus never gets proven as Hans cheating.) Until then, Hail Hans and fuck Fagnus “annoying manchild” Fagsen
Man she looks a lot better in 240p
>>86136237>To still not resign at that point is not "fair" it's just emphasizing what a mental child you are. This sentence was written by hands that have flagged in a totally winning endgame then talked trash in the chat and threw things at the wall. If I'm winning that hard but short on time, it's my job to finish the game. If I flag doing so it's my fault.
>>86136237I don't get why you're so salty. If you were really much stronger than your opponent, you'd be at least a Rook or Queen up and mate him easily. If you don't have those, you weren't that much stronger and you have to prove you deserve a win.
>>86136272That’s prime Kim Kardashian right there
>>86136287Never mentioned flagging, but it's very easy to tell yourself you're a genius when your winning arguments with yourself.>>86136290Then you're a fucking retard. It's not a complicated or new idea that not resigning a hopeless game is being a nuissance. You "don't get it" because you have an extremely low IQ and think being a contrarian without any sense is what intelligent conversation looks like.
>>86135852Even if we take as given that he thinks Hans cheated, that doesn’t necessarily make him right about that. Fear of Hans has driven him to madness.
>>86135852…when has anyone in chess ever claimed their opponent was cheating, refused to provide any evidence, and not been lying?
>>86136324>she says>after being banned repeatedly for shit talking her opponents so hard in the chat they reported her
>>86136187Of course I can. Patrick Wolff book for beginners for example.
hans > sneednus
>>86136324>Everyone is retarded but me!!
>>86136237If I'm playing 15/0, I'm not letting some Pajeet take 20 seconds per move to arrive at a better position and then resigning for him when I have 10 minutes left on the clock and when he has a winning endgame that he's struggling to convert. It was his choice to run down his time for a better position.
>>86136353She who? My name is John Thomas.>>86136361Read my post again. I seriously doubt that's anyone what anyone is saying. I think you're misunderstanding. If I'm not, Patrick Woolf(??) is wrong... blasphemy, I know.>>86136372>>86136372>>86136324Did you miss the part where I said most of the world is retarded? It's actually interesting sometimes how you can tell an NPC to their face what they are and what they think and they'll continue to perform just as expected without any self awareness or epiphany. Most of the time I'm just talking to hear my own thought process, fully aware that NPCs like you will chime in with their expected dialogue and using it as basically a sounding board. Every now and then someone comes along and says something interesting and I realize it's another conscious person and that's often a nice encounter. You are not that person however, as you can imagine.
>>86136407don’t mnow what your reply has to do with hans being greater than sneednus
>>86136071Online chess is super hit or miss like thatTry out chess clubs in your area. In person chess groups usually much warmer environment. Feels nice to share stories over the board, have a drink, teach each other new ideas, improve together, etc. Infinitely more enjoyable to me than online chess
New take--Hans might be innocent. But everyone defending him is a cheater, and that's why they don't want to talk about cheating.
>>86136414I'm so mad that I can't navigate properly. But I can say that the content of your post makes you applicable as well.
>>86136430I'm hoping the entire pro scene is riddled with cheating, both online and OTB. It would be so funny to see a League of Legends or Starcraft 2-level matchfixing scandal happen to the world's most respected game of skill.
>>86136418Oh for sure, people are always different in person vs online. I'm just saying that the depth of depravity in online chess is insane.
>>86136430>and that's why they don't want to talk about cheating.I do. For two weeks, I've been asking how Hans cheated at Sinquefield, and nobody has given me anything tangible.
>>86136430That's why FIDE exists, no? Everyone knows Fischer was the world champ. But FIDR, who have no actual authority decided that Fischer is not because they wanted a format that gave Karpov an unfair chance. So, Russia is a Chess power, even though they never played for it? No. FIDE is a marketing gimmick. It's a PR job. Magnus brought bad press to light, and now their mad. But what can they do? Like Fischer, Magnus is clearly the best player in the world.
>>86135096INTJ here, I used to play board games by myself as a child. Until computers came around, which is basically still playing with myself.
>>86136484Meant for >>86136449
>>86136449>League of Legends or Starcraft 2-level matchfixing scandalwhat happened in both of those games?
>>86136582They fixed a lot of matches. It was quite scandalous.
>>86136591in both games? I think I heard about the starcraft 2 scandal but not the league of legends one. The starcraft 2 pro that did was pretty high up wasn't he?
>Oh no! They sword slashed at gremlins and pew pew'd at spaceships on their Xboxes dishonestly!
>>86136407Why are you always so mad
sinquefield chief arbiter says no proofken regan says no prooffide says no proofhow did magnus screw the pooch so badly? why can't chess grandmasters transfer their skills to life?
OK now what
>>86136812I think you're supposed to take the pieces
Explain the accent Hansfags.
>>86136876He's an autistic weirdo who doesn't realize that having your accent completely switch as a part of code switching will come off as strange to people. I've known quite a few autistic people with that tendency, they lose their native accent from being on the internet but then they'll put it back on when in public.
Sharp position in Aryan Tari vs Jospem (Jose Alcantara) from recent Titled Tuesday. Alcantara's last move was Rxd5, an offered rook sac. Can you find why that rook cannot be taken? Aryan hovered his queen over it for a couple seconds before realizing.
>>86131837Anyone have any good study tips? I mostly learn just by watching Eric Rosen and ASMRchess videos on youtube but I can't get past 1200 (on lichess)
>opponent playing moves instantly in a rapid game for no reason I didn't actually expect this to work. Opponent had 09:59.7 left on the clock after resignation.
>>86136954Study the endgame
>>86137018I'm good at the endgame but I have trouble living long enough to get to that point
>>86136791People always call Magnus a good loser but they seem to forget when he was in shambles after losing to Karjakin in the WC. He probably got pissed at Hans for mocking his ego.Come to think of it, MC's wc defense isn't that impressive, x2 vs washed anand, barely winning vs karjakin, all draws vs caruana, nepo committed seppuku - this was pretty impressive by carlsen though.
>>86137044Probably need to work on keeping track of loose pieces, which loses games outright. Its one of the most common issues at lower levels
>>86137051Carlsen's legacy as a player will probably be his endurance as opposed to raw strength
>>86137051>barely winning vs karjakin1 win each in classical, with Karjakin's win as Black.
>>86137064Thanks, I'll work on improving that

>>86137215You know what the fuck you did.
>>86137215I doubleposted by accident and deleted the second post, then some very funny guy decided to do his own.
Look at this absolute kinography. I premoved Qg8 because I thought his king had to go down. A couple games ago I already lost the chance to cross 2000 because of a premove error in a K+P endgame while being up like a minute on the clock, which just makes this all the more sweeter. If you wanna improve play with increment, this shit is addictive and fries your brain.
Is it worth my time to start chess at 30? Could I achieve 2000 online rating?
He's so hot when he tries, hate when he goes all clean shaven and floofy.
>>86137344Yes, 2000 online is a realistic goal. In fact anything below IM is realistic with enough talent and drive. It all does depend on those two factors though.

>>86137344>Is it worth my time to start chess at 30? Could I achieve 2000 online rating? If you really like chess then yes. And yes 2000 online rapid or blitz is attainable. This isn't like asking, 'can I get GM if I start at 30'.
>>86137614Doing something = / = Doing something against your willI could not fuck if I wanted. But there isn't a good reason to.Basically, life is meaningless, but you can give it meaning by enjoying yourself. You will never know how sad that is because you'll die and never live again.

Tari lost on time in a lost endgame.
