Reading this with a board is changing my life and afterlife
>>
I think chess was irrevocably damaged as a game when computers started playing at a level that's beyond humans. Before that point "cheating" was functionally a non-issue since both players saw the board at all times - what are you gonna do, slip an extra queen out of your sleeve? No. To cheat was to take an impossible action, easy to detect both during and after a game.

But now? Now just playing extremely well is indistinguishable from cheating. If somebody genuinely has a brilliant stroke of genius and makes a play that catches the opponent with his pants down, that looks indistinguishable from cheating. Because you're supposed to play as well as you can, incredibly well, better than anyone - but not _too_ well. Not that well. Playing that well is cheating. You gotta play more shittily. But not that shittily that you lose. You gotta hit the sweet spot.

And that is an absurd contradiction in goals. Put that in any other sport, any other game that's played seriously, and people will think you mad. It's literally the "anything that beats me is cheating" scrub fallacy except it's indistinguishable from reality.

Realistically, and every data scientist who has been trying to find an anti-cheating algorithm should admit it, it's impossible to prove a cheater at the super GM level using a statistical analysis, because they could cheat one or two times per game and still get a decisive advatange, and they don't play enough game to generalize stuff.

An algo like that could make a player look suspicious but you should never stop at what an algorithm tells you without doing further investigation like finding who helped him or how he cheated, because who's to say that the guy didn't came up with the engine move on his own ?

I played around with the engine. The position is complicated but it seems that after the checks black queens one pawn that ends up getting traded for a bishop. After that black, just checks the white king from every side and it's impossible to make progress. The queen is such a strong piece in an empty board.

Nah, the kike running FIDE has already said that there'll be no retroactive punishments for online cheaters. Unless Magnus has "adequate proof" that Hans cheated against him OTB, this is ending how I thought it would: FIDE getting revenge for Magnus not playing ball with the championship. It also doesn't help that 99% of the chess community is a bunch of dindu progressives overlooking Hans' online cheating because 'everyone deserves 5,000 chances in life'.

It hard to prove that someone cheated if your security didn't detect his methods beforehand. You should catch or prevent that before the games, which imo what Magnus believes Sinquefield failed to provide so

I have no doubts of Hans being a strong player. But this only makes it more dangerous. Magnus and Kasparov says how little info you need to gain a significant edge over other players. And Maxim (kek) says with 2600, you would be very hard to be detected if you cheat smart.

Hans is a very strong GM who just has incredibly good opening and early game prep. When he gets to the midgame and endgame he tends to lose ground to stronger GMs but in the early game he can pull off miracles that win him games against technically superior players like Magnus.
>>
>>86134365
Climb rating ladder more. The point where you stop seeing that is lower than you'd expect. However at that point you'll welcome it as it's going to be an easier game than if they played a good opening. The only early queen thing I still see besides the scandi is against sicilian. 1.e4 c5 2.Qh5. The point is they're hoping for the 2...Nf6 line where white swaps e pawn for c pawn. White is okay there (it's -0.2) and has some opportunity for tricks. I prefer the 2...e6 version just defending pawn and allowing me to tempo the queen on the following move without any theatrics in the center. e6 does allow early f4 grand prix style stuff but it's fairly toothless at that point.

Chess players are such douchebags, it really is such an unpleasant experience every time. I have no idea how there can be so much ego in a world where 99% of people are retarded.
Guy was white in a cramped but not even losing position. But the issue is that he had come out blitzing like I was too stupid to be believed, even though he didn't know me, much too stupid to waste his time on, but here he found himself by necessity... suddenly he realized he didn't crush me in ten moves, became disillsioned and simply resign. Great game dude, happy to share this experiencd with you. Blocked.
Next game guy blunders all his pieces and refuses to resign all the way until ladder mate, calling me names in chat. Buddy you were 800 points lower rated, are you seriously upset? Blocked.
Block, block, block. Oh hey you're cool... no wait he's letting his time run out now. Blocked.
It's not just "that's the way ppl are haha, boys will be boys" I spent some time playing Shogi and it was literally never once like this. In fact I would play higher rated guys who would themselves offer rematches, on more than one occassion.
>>
>>86136061

No... no, it's not. And you can't cite one example. Unless you're mistaking "play out a losing game to see if you can get better at creating chances when worse" with "don't resign ever, including when you have no pieces" as I suspect you are.
>>
>>86136123
Really annoying OTB as well, especially when you'd both be better off having a decent break before the next round. But they'll use up all their 90 minutes and whatever increment they've accumulated while being down a piece.

>>
I'm supporting Hans because I haven't heard a cogent explanation of how he cheated at Sinquefield. The explanations I've seen collapse when you show any interest in pursuing them.
>>
>>86136187
If your opponent really has no pieces, you should either mate him pretty quickly or he deserves a chance to make you run out of time. I think it's fair.
>>
>>86136224
You don't wake up suddenly with no pieces. It means you've been playing out a resignable game way beyond the point of being a nuissance. To still not resign at that point is not "fair" it's just emphasizing what a mental child you are.
There are times to try to swindle stalement but systematically losing all your pieces and never resigning along the way isn't it.
>>
>>86136189
I will support him until there is proof that he actually cheated otb (and I mean any otb event. Little matters if his win against Magnus never gets proven as Hans cheating.)

Until then, Hail Hans and fuck Fagnus “annoying manchild” Fagsen

Man she looks a lot better in 240p

This sentence was written by hands that have flagged in a totally winning endgame then talked trash in the chat and threw things at the wall. If I'm winning that hard but short on time, it's my job to finish the game. If I flag doing so it's my fault.
>>
>>86136237
I don't get why you're so salty. If you were really much stronger than your opponent, you'd be at least a Rook or Queen up and mate him easily. If you don't have those, you weren't that much stronger and you have to prove you deserve a win.
>>
>>86136272

Most of the time I'm just talking to hear my own thought process, fully aware that NPCs like you will chime in with their expected dialogue and using it as basically a sounding board. Every now and then someone comes along and says something interesting and I realize it's another conscious person and that's often a nice encounter. Look at this absolute kinography. I premoved Qg8 because I thought his king had to go down. A couple games ago I already lost the chance to cross 2000 because of a premove error in a K+P endgame while being up like a minute on the clock, which just makes this all the more sweeter.

New stejpankino-will he throw up? Will he see the best move but be a coward? Will he accept a draw in a winning position? Find out

Will do, ugly.

He always has so much pain on his face.
Is that the stock of the adult improver taking chess too seriously?
Why can't he relax and look as nonchalant as any other chess streamer?
>>

Stop saying I'm ugly Alexandra. It's not going to make me have a one night stand with you. I'm not a 8 year old girl. Marry me, then we'll do it.
>>
>>86137738
I'm a dude. I just recognize the perennial copes of the ugly man. Sometimes it's tradcuckoldry. Sometimes (on /fit/ especially) it's being a powerlifter and strength fetishist. Sometimes it's being MGTOW. Sometimes it's being a low-T faggot.

>Why can't he relax and look as nonchalant as any other chess streamer?
he quit his job to play chess full-time

If you're judging men, you're definitely a homosexual. That explains the addictive personality, as well.
>>

Eventually he's going to run into one of those Pajeets who play really horrendous openings but are strong tactically, and it's going to break his mind.

If you're insecure about talking aesthetics, you're likely a closet homo

Men don't think about men.
>>
>>86137786
Sure they do. You think about any man on this board who's fucking women and seethe about it. Nothing more homo than that.

If you are even aware of the concept of men other than yourself, you are gay. In fact, if you are aware of women, then women are inside of your mind and then you are a tranny. There is only one all-being.

You can keep deflecting all you want in order to hide from reality, it will only be proving me right, on you never knowing happiness. Just be yourself bro.

Success! The impressive thing is Alcantara (playing white) found that threat in seconds in a 3|1 blitz game. Not just because it wins a pawn but also it concedes nothing if black responds correctly; an equal position stays roughly equal. In the game, Tari played Ng5 and they wound up trading down. Tari lost on time in a lost endgame.
>>
>>86137807
Bro, forget about this board feud. Just promise me you'll sit down sometime and reflect on what makes you lash out at men who are fucking women. I think you'll discover some important things about yourself.
>>
>>86137846
You're destroying society. I will continue to speak up. You will not silence me.
>>
>>86137853
Okay, reflect a bit more. What do you hope to accomplish by speaking up? Changing minds? Or just venting?
>>
>>86137860
Instead of being here, or playing chess, go read a history book.
>>
>>86137868
That's not an answer. Don't be scared of self-reflection. You're safe here.

How am I supposed to play chess if I feel like a terrible person when I win? What if I just made someone's day worse? I don't know what they're going through in life. What if I made someone feel stupid like me?

Yes.

You definitely have to have what Doyle Brunson calls in poker "alligator blood" in order to be good at chess. Without a doubt there's an element of sadism. If you're sentimental and inoffensive you won't be strong.
