Should a monk use a gun?
Only if he is a multiclassed cleric.
>>85545258I understood this reference.
The monk in my party had a blowgun that shot ice darts with the user's spit, each doing a flat 1 dmg.The monk let other party members borrow it in combat because it was better to aim at him, he'd catch the spit dart and throw it at an enemy for a 1d4. It was funny and only came out in desperate times.
>>85545237The only time a monk explicitly should not use one is if he or she has taken a vow of pacifism/nonviolence.You fucking turkey.
>>85545237No; guns should be used On monks.
>>85545387Ikko fucking shits.
>>85545237how else is a man supposed to protest his library?
>>85545237I don't know. Can a priest use a rifle?
>>85545237Yes. Now, riddle me this Batman, why is it that I can't channel my ki through a long sword but I can through a short sword? Is this some kind of meta narrative about the potentcy of the monk's penis?
>>85545237>monkStop having "monk" as a class.D&D and its consequences are a disaster for the human race.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-wepP73FxMIt never stops amazing me how D&D manages to literally break everything and mind fuck people so hard that literally if this was never spoken then people would have no problem playing the game.>>85545463Every D&D material needs to be burned.
>>85545407>blocks ur path for 10 years
>>85545237Should 4chan get a better anti-bot protection?
>>85545620Yes it is not bait, these are facts.Stop playing D&D.
>>85545638Make me, faggot.
To salvage this thread, blackpowder era gun-monks is a pretty nifty idea, maybe they are former soldiers taking vows of poverty and protect roads in exchange for food and shelter at local villages. Reloading and maintaining blackpowder firearms pre mass production was an art and a monk's class can play into the drill and fine motor skills required.
>>85545258Keep your rifle by your side
>>85545486Something something forcing you to play the Kensai and be a shitty off-tank something something Monk still has a shit identity that will never get fixed because 4e boogeyman happened.
Been looking through the Sword World books that were linked here recently, and a gun monk sounds like a fun, but guns require so much investment already it looks like it would be a pretty crap build.
>>85545486Long sword is too long, the ki dissipates.
Nobody realizes that the OP pic is a gun.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_(staff)
>>85546504>waaaaaah my image didn't get enough attention! Why are people discussing my inane topic instead of my epic image? Waaaaaaah!
>>85546504Fuck you, I came into this thread to show off that I knew what a gun was too.
>>85546534t. btfo retard
>>85545237sure but there is nothing wrong with a good old quarterstaff as well
>>85545237I don't see why not.
>>85545258Tetragrammaton subclass Action surge or sumn
>>85545486>>85546492weirder still since staves are traditional monk weapons that are longer than most swords and ki can be channeled through them just fine.>>85545237金刚伏魔!!
Yes, of course.
Sure, shotgun + Beanbag rounds certainly shouldn't draw blood if used properly.
>>85545486Probably because you don’t need a fancy technique to make a longsword deadly or contentious in a fight. It requires martial training yes, but you aren’t in an automatic disadvantage.Same with warhammers and guns. Monks need to practice channeling ki into weapons that are inferior.
>>85545237yes, since it solves conflicts more effectively
>>85547352they are literally katas, they just choose the appropiate one for the encounter
>>85545237oh you know itCAPTCHA:22GAY so get a larger caliber you sissy
