I try to play lichess but it's considerably worse in two ways that ruin it for me.
1. The sound effects are terrible. I have no idea how they haven't fixed this but they're compressy and don't sound like anything real. It doesn't sound like a chess piece hitting the board or tapping another piece when those things happen. And top of that they're both just ugly sounds, coupled with the equally ugly game over sound.
2. The touchscreen performance sucks (I'm a phonefag). Something I'm sure they would fix with chess.com's money but they don't have it.
I'll gladly switch fulltime if they can fix these. Until then I'll just cruise over for the occasional meme variant chess.com doesn't offer like hyperbullet and crazyhouse.

I think I just benefited from a move order screwup from black. Or something. That's what I thought the knight blunder was. Instant Bxf3 was a surprise. Towards the end I overlooked that I had Ne1 to protect my pawn but it didn't matter at that point.

Since switching from 10+5 to 10+0 and doing these things, I don't think I've faced any cheaters at all.

The main difference between me and you is that I used to do tactics puzzles and checkmate exercises for fun when I was a kid. Tactics really is the secret to being better than average at the game. Nothing else really matters if you're surviving the opening. Now as you get stronger, you'll probably want to learn some openings and really basic endgames, but at your level tactics really is everything.

It strains belief. I know that I've played cheaters, probably roughly the same amount as always, but even when I report them they no longer catch them. I used to have near perfect accuracy in reporting them too. I think Lichess ranks accounts when it comes to reporting cheaters and gives them some kind of social credit for how reliable your reports are. If you fuck up and wrongfully report a few people right away, then they just ignore your future reports.

I don't understand how the tournament scoring works. What is the purpose of the team leaders?
