My Dad thinks it will help me boost my self esteem and get me through the depression a therapist diagnosed me with.
My sister doesn't seem to care.
Mom is kill.

I bought miniatures, primer and paint in hopes to recapture the joyful times I had as a child playing with Legos but in a more mature form.

Would you join a Genestealer Cult irl assuming you didn't know how it all ends but knowing your offspring will be a mutant? Everything else is like in 40k - breeding and praising the star gods.
>>
Whats with file sizes for the 9th codicies? Ksons is kike 20mb most ithers are around 50mb with necrons and dg being over 100mb

They're okay with it. My Dad actually brought me a White Dwarf mag as a kid because he knew I was into fantasy stuff and thats what got me into this, my Mother likes looking at them once painted but doesn't really care, my fiancee thinks they're neat and helps me with colour schemes sometimes.

Can you remind me how 5th edition changed the LoS rules from 4th edition? I was a kid then and we didnt really read the rulebooks until there was an argument that forced us to. I know by 7th edition the rules for area terrain were entirely gone because GW wanted to sell you terrain kits.

How do the genestealer cultists respond/react to when their "gods" arrive on the world they conquered and begin eating them all?

And what is with the sudden uptick in genestealer players? Are they legitimately fun to play? Meta? I know their models are pretty nice especially the armored car and rock grinder, but that can't be it, right?

New codex but most are no models and like the coom art. I think GSC are cool but I refuse to play them due to the 120 model on the table thing.

It varies. Some embrace death, some go mad with despair, some join the hive fleet in captured starcrafts, and some reject their fate and fight back.

Dropped size values for models and terrain and the general concept of abstracted area terrain and moved to "true line of sight." TLOS is fairly unpopular since they have a huge disadvantage in that terrain that isn't giant solid walls is often fairly worthless for actual gameplay. This kind of terrain often looks bad and most people's terrain collections, including nearly all terrain sold by GW aren't giant solid walls.

Not really. Just exercise caution when working with Citadel's paint pots or transfer them to droppers. That way you hopefully won't become another spilled nuln oil meme unless that is somehow a right of passage in hobbying.

I slowly open my Citadel paint pots like they are going to explode like a shaken soda can. I know it seems silly, but I don't want to waste paint.

Playing a 2k game on sunday, Probably just open war card missions. I think im gonna run orks. Told me not to tell him my list/army. His armies are knights, necrons and BA. My plan was a half n half dread whaag/boys. Havent played orks in 9th yet. New strats look ass andBoys look like ass, but I dont care.
Goffs
ghaz
makri
big mek kff
nobs -big choppa/choppa
30 boys - slugga/choppa
30 boys - slugga/choppa
10 grots
9 dreads with the claw/big shoota load out
6 kans with rockets
Im thinking about subbing the nobs for a weird boy and back fill points with more grots. I like ghaz and being able to call both whaags seems fun. But somthing kind of dosnt sit right with me about not knowing what army hes bringing. But I think this is the best i can do for an all comers list. Thoughts/suggestions?

Which Sept are my Tau bros going with? if you don't go FSE, you're an Ethereal cocksucker

>Dal'yth
Infantry gain Light Cover unless they are in Engagement Range. Auxiliaries can use Montka and Kauyon
>Bork'an
+4" range to all guns. Ranged attacks of S7 or lower against Tau Vehicles or Battlesuits get -1S
>Vior'la
+2" move when wholly within your Deployment Zone on turn 1. Re-roll Advance and Charge rolls
>T'au
Re-roll one hit or wound roll while attacking. Auras and Command Abilities gain +3" range
>Farsight Enclaves
FSE units always count as having a Markerlight buff (+1 to hit) while at range <12". Re-roll one wound roll while attacking
>Sa'cea
Sa'cea units gain cover when attacked at range >18"; Vehicles gain Dense Cover, Infantry gain Light Cover. Vehicles and Battlesuits have no penalty for shooting at targets that are in Engagement Range of them

Iron Warriors, Emperor's Children, Word Barers, and Death Guard probably would care, about identifying themselves as part of a Legion, Night Lords might care now that Decimus is in charge, and armor of midnight is kind of their thing, but Night Lords are also ultra-renegade so they might not. As far as I see it, Night Lords just wear midnight plates, and trim them in whatever metalic they want to signify their warband.

There's basically two different kinds of Chaos Marine, Legionaries and Renegades. The more or less intact Legions that have some semblence of a chain of command and supply lines, are gonna care. Renegade Warbands probably don't give a single shit, cause if you're an astartes, and you have gear, that's good enough for them.

Those are cool marines. I'm TTS only but I want to learn some blender/3d to potentially customize my TTS stuff since I have a pretty consistent army list, at least enough that it'd be worthwhile to make some custom colors and maybe some baubles for a tank commander or two, etc. Double down on the theme of the world my guard are mustered from, that kinda thing.

2) I'm poor
3) I move around a bunch so collecting stuff is inconvenient
4) I don't really like owning lots of stuff
5) I play with friends and my brother and whatnot a bunch via TTS (we all live in various places) so it would be cool to have my customized stuff to play with them
6) I'm not interested in learning to paint
7) The actual wargame (which is what I'm most interested in, though I do read a decent amount of BL stuff when it's decent) plays better on TTS than it would IRL. Especially for Guard where you can batch move, auto measure and mass dice roll.

Nah life just kinda worked out that way. I like moving to new places. I'm settling into remote work where I can live anywhere. Boutta be less poor which will be nice but even then. It just doesn't really make sense for my life. I've also got a bunch of other hobbies that take my time that I wouldn't want to give up for what would be, to me personally, prep time for the thing I do want. Ie: I want to play the game, not paint a ton of models.

Learning a bit of 3d art is something that I can take as much time as I want with, and when I have a result, I add it to my army, but, it isn't really necessary to play. Whereas assembling, storing, and travelling to playing spaces, let alone painting, are all "unfortunate time sinks between me and playing a game of 40k" that I prefer to avoid.

I mean maybe. I'm planning to move back to the UK to live with my girlfriend who had to go there for school, and she's sorta dropping hints that I should consider getting into it. I think she wants to try painting 'em and going and hanging out places. I'm not convinced though. We'll see how I feel when Custodes hits Battlescribe as I wanna try them out. Tired of getting plowed game after game as Guard to be honest so thinking I might try out Solar Watch Bike Spam whilst I'm in guard codex waiting room.

If I like playing them, I might consider it just because they're relatively cheap and probably simple to paint.

Handling the post-intro sales stuff ie: demos, implementation stuff, making sure everything goes smoothly, and making sure they have all the training/materials they need, etc. Then I'll also be helping with customer support at the start but eventually I'll mostly be managing this stuff rather than doing it myself but at the start you gotta be more hands on to save cash.

>monofaction rules, don't care what they are, as long as they don't suck, I'm stoked
>Custom Warband rules. This is big dick, every new faction has custom rules. CSM getting that level of customization, with a range as wide as it is, is fucking sick
>Dropping DTTFE for +1 attack, I think this is good and will result in more fun gameplay, but I'm sad my Abaddon wombo combos go so soon after I got got them
I have a very good feeling about the codex. I hope it's good, and that my collection is gonna be solid. My only fear is weapon restrictions on various elites, but I feel like CSM are more similar to Marines than the Cult Legions, in that CSM are a kitchen sink book and need the customization to support so many Legions, whereas the Cult Legions are very specialized and each unit already fills the intended role at a baseline level. Marines have Termies and Veterans that can take whatever they want, so I hope that CSM follow in the same vein, otherwise most of my WYSIWYG Terminators are fucked.

I fucking hate the cadence of his speech. If 40K is supposedly a beloved hobby of yours, a passion having lasted years, and you choose to make videos, don't talk about it in the same enthusiasm that one would do discussing tax paying tactics. I have to put his videos on 1.25 speed or else risk falling asleep as if it were Warhammer ASMR.

However the community would be undoubtedly be shittier without him and his content. Though I don't like the low effort slideshow, there'd be no better way for someone to put out so much news so quickly, and most fags in the hobby are looking down at their plastic painting as they have his videos play anyway. They definitely do put on makeup, perfume, and other beauty products, but only before going into battle. If they're going to die, they want to look glamorous. Out of battle, they look like grimdark catholic nuns. Also, they canonically do dye their hair to imitate patron saints and for uniformity.

I don't know what's optimal between those two, anon. I know the least about their army, except that the bikers are based as hell. I don't care if they're dogshit on the board, they look fun as hell. I'm a Farsight Enjoyer and will continue to be one. Sucks losing the Fusion Blades but Fusion Blasters being overpriced as fuck on Commanders (beyond one) and huge buff to the Gauntlet means it's okay since I only really use one Commander besides Farsight himself anyway. Just going to change his loadout a little and use him to buff a blob of Strikes as they push forward (or Advance backwards) around the board.

Here's to hoping FSE gets some love with the supplement/DLC book. I'd love to get a Veteran Cadre back especially but it's not the end of the world to not have it for now. It's balanced out by the FSE trait being better, Farsight himself is much stronger and has more buffs. Just looking at it, his buff to a nearby team pretty much make up for losing Veteran Cadre as it is and doesn't cost any CP.

All the combat patrols have been $140. If the model count is true, the GSC combat patrol is a savings of $127.

Meanwhile the Tau Combat Patrol is a savings of 70 dollars, 20 dollars if you already have an ethereal and fireblade (Unless they give us a Lieutenant rule to run multi fireblades.)

They should have dropped the ethereal and thrown in another squad.

They suffer from being a unit that'd be good in another army. They're not even bad at their cost or for their options, it's just that there's a cheaper and slightly weaker option in Troops and a more specialised, faster and tougher option in Purestrains. Purestrains are fucking amazing now, it's just that simple. Purestrains just can't compete with such a fast, killy, fairly durable unit that's dirt cheap. Metamorphs aren't even bad, it's just they're not as good as them and compete with them.

There's even rules in White Dwarf to run a crusade force of Custodes escorting greyshields to their chapter. Look up Warhammer 40k Torchbearers.

Nothing about chapter masters refusing reinforcements, but there was some fluff where the Custodes slaughtered the marines because the chapter they were on the way to were declared renegade.

Not heard the rumour but it's a fair assumption. There's been dribbles of new Primaris units like the BT ones and a couple of random characters which are just gear-swaps. I'm guessing it'll come with the launch of the 'seasonal' book so they can buff/nerf shit and then drive some new units in the wake of it.

We're also near the end of all armies having a 9th edition codex and it's not a rumour but come on, you guys know what comes next, right? Chaos, Guardfags, Nids and Tau are getting their shit real soon. Give it a few months and the season will be out, DLC books will be out and more announced and bam...Space Marines 2.0 drops which covers all the more vanilla Chapters and saves making a bunch of supplements for them.

Well, this took way longer than I expected to spend this afternoon. I had to scrap the first version of the PDF and re-process my raw scans.
Fair warning, the first two and last two pages are from photos rather than a scanner. The flatbed scanner I bought specifically for this scanning job was giving absolute junk, so I went back to my ADF scanner which can't process anything thicker than regular paper.
The OCR on this isn't great, it pulled a few false positives in the artwork, but it should be sufficient for text search.
It's 78 MB, with the scanned images at a final resolution of 1620px width in 144 DPI. Bookmark tree and basic OCR have been applied as well:

If you guys have any trouble with the PDF, please let me know. I double check my scans in Adobe Reader as a baseline, but I do try to put out scans that function well in multiple readers.

being 'brutally honest' is rude, especially if you end up talking about the beliefs, ideals, and opinions modern retards have

People that mindlessly conform to orthodoxy, water down everything they say, and tiptoe around eggshell skulls are the ones who are accepted.
>>
>>82995268
Happened maybe 6 times to me so far. Same as the other guy, time usually isn't an issue. But they already lost two things with those shenanigans. It's pretty annoying because all they'll say is just that "it says it was delivered." Well yeah, that's set by the delivery guy who may or may not have actually delivered my stuff. Anyway, having to then call up the companies and forcing them to give me a refund is a real pain.

I'm always thankful to see anons contributing to community resources where they can.
The WH+ vault has been useful for a few of the most recent WDs, since they went back to physical publishing only.

I've had to re-subscribe to WD, because there's a clear demand for the rules (good and bad) that are being published there.
As a heads up, I think the first WD I'm going to be getting is in February, so no luck on this months edition.

>>82995355
This one anon? I've supplied the raw scan that's been processed with a single small blur to reduce the scanning artefacts.

>>
>>
>>82995407
Personally I don't subscribe to WH+, so I don't have access to the Vault where GW has been putting up legacy publications.
There are a few people online who do take those releases and upload them though. The resource I have access to for Black Library content occasionally gets the WH+ content.
The performance of their PDFs is absolute ass though, and I haven't worked out how to make it not awful yet.

So is this what the Terran underhive really looks like?

There was an anon who was talking about the how the surface culture/planetary architecture would impact the underhive.
Like how the weapon factory planet of Necromunda's underhive is nothing but barely functioning automated industry and left over weaponry/ammunition and even the weapon production culture has produced gangs that make innovative tech, but fear the Mechanicus.

That pic would actually be pretty fitting for a Terran underhive as even on the birthplace of humanity there is still a baroque look to it even in the most rundown and rotting places like an underhive.

Hmm, that's a fair point. We don't have November and December's editions, do we?

will custodes be an actual army now that sisters of silence are in different slots? like actual chaff units of sisters and whatnot as troops instead of the army just being 20 gigachads
>>
>>82995554
SoS are good but you still want gigachads in 3's since they can now tank 10 Incubi and wipe the unit in a turn. Also they are cancer to get off of objectives and all Custodes Infantry is obsec.
>>
>>82995554
the whole point of the army is to be 20 gigachads though

I really gotta update this for 9th ed some time
>>
>>82995570
Personally 7th edition had some of the weakest codices. I liked the 6th ed rulebook better anyways because no physic phase and no invisibility. And the game wasnt so chock full of stealth+shrouded. We just played with a ban on flyers and 6th was pretty fun.
>>
>>82995606
7th edition was clearly rushed out due to people hating 6th, rumors are that magnus was orginally going to be the big villian for 8th
>>
>>82995623
Yeh but the things that made 6th bad were not fixed by the BRB. I think the only rules that improved in 7th was the rules regarding flying monstrous creatures with landing and charging. I think in 6th you could do that in one turn, 7th made you do it over two turns.

>hes only noticing this now
the art has been getting progressively worse since 6th edition, it peaked around the end of 8th edition where we got dogshit tier art like pic related. 9th seems to be slightly better so hopefully in like 12th edition we'll be back to the kino of 3-5th
>>
>>82995648
It's less of a quality thing and more of a "GW has decided that art should actually match the miniatures." So nothing overly ornate, nothing stylised.
>>
>>82995669
>they have power spears right?
Not as a generic power weapon. It's even more infuriating that only FW option you can make is the power weapon via the misericordia arm. There's no way to have both a vexilla and sentinel blade without converting it.

might do okay vs those armies. Most current edition codexes really brutalize big blobs of boyz these days, though. If you're thinking of removing nobz, do so. Regular nobz are just real bad right now, especially since goffs just give your boyz the extra S. Overall your army is pretty slow, with some easily avoidable/screenable/easily killed heavy hitters, but vs those armies he shouldn't have a ton of screens available at least.
