Is it an intentional collection?
I have like 35 of these things for some reason
>>80441213>TQI drafted the shit out of Alara Reborn and tended to snatch these guys up since they were good in draft
>>80441330He's still solid but I haven't seen one outside of Cat tribal in a long time.
>>80441330the things I would do to play draft alara block with my bros again
>play goblin>the other players catch on quick and focus me down:(
>>80441213>TQI went on a pack stealing spree before I turned 18. I'm the entire reason every single major chain has moved packs to behind the counter in my town. Usually they were sold out of/I had already stolen anything half decent so I ended up lifting a stupid amount of dragon's maze. I have 17 Mirko Vosks. Fitting for my sins.
I've got maybe a thousand Wingsteed Riders packed away somewhere in the attic.
>>80441213I own over 300 copies of Ritual of Subdual
>>80441337Yeah I like him a lot but he usually ends up being card #101-110 in consideration>>80441342It was so comfy bro
>TQPic related. I wouldn't say it's intentional, but I ended up with a lot of them replacing all my non full art lands.
>>80441342I miss it too
>>80441213>TQI'm not counting up all my basic lands to determine which one has the most copies.
1. Is this good?2. Is this good outside mono blue?
>>80441354I need a deck that’s subtle, with a huge payoff. I need my revenge
>>80441475its good in lower power metas
>>80441484Run the same commander but play nothing remotely related to the first deck.
>>80441475Yes.>>80441491In lower power metas where 2 turns are nothing?
>>80441475For it to be better than even unsummon (setting aside shit like pognify, cyclonic rift, ravenform, etc) the 2 turns of tempo needs to be worth giving the opponent the LTB and another ETB for no mana invested. That level of speed is difficult to bring to bear, especially given the limited strength of single-target creature removal for creating an opening.
>>80441475If it was good they would have printed it at mythic.
>>80441517Hey, Urza's Saga is a rare
>>80441475It's a decent way to get additional LTB/ETB triggers on one of your creatures while also saving it from removal/wipes, I guess.
>>80441475It stops most every creature-based combo. Works as a combat trick. Can save one of your creatures from a wipe. Super versatile card. Very underrated imo.
>>80441528And its garbage.
>>80441545perpetual 101st card in every deck that would want it sadly. I appreciate the speculator that is trying to fleece anons all the same though. His hustle is on point he makes a post about that card every 2 days since release.
>>80441576I still remember getting worked into buying fucking Ebon Praetor on here years ago.
>>80441475Only if you can loop it along with Riftsweeper or Pull From Eternity.
>>80441213Played a LOT during Khans and somehow ended up with trillions of these
>>80441576It does feel like this unfortunately.
I like Koma, but i'm not sure of how to build it. Very open ended so it's easy to just drift into generic goodstuff. Any ideas?
>>80441630I'd do generic goodstuff.
>>80441626Funnily enough, when building first passes at a deck I find myself running out of Terramorphic Expanse now because all the most recent sets have been Evolving Wilds instead>>80441630Better in the 99 for the most part, sadly. At the helm it's just simic goodstuff and he's so expensive that you end up relying on raw deck strength a lot.
>>80441497Hmm, how do you subvert Krenko? Just play the dragon’s approach engine instead of the goblin good stuff? That sounds like it would suck.
>>80441654That does sound like it would suck but making it work would probably feel rewarding in this case.
Is this actually pretty good?
>>80441732Add a sac outlet and you're good to go.

>>80442460Holy shit my dude, you gotta find a new group. Like, get on tinder, find a girlfriend, make some kids, wait 12 years, and play with those kids. It'll be better than that horseshit.
>>80442460https://pastebin.com/i41J0bFpJust a ctrl c ctrl v from their edh rules channelWe play on tabletop sim btw. COVID shit.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/LVmeTKtxmkiX6OIP3NJuXgI'm thinking of cutting outpost siege and replacing it with scourglass. Should I cut anything else? The general gameplan is to go wide or tall depending on the circumstances and enjoy treating my board state like an abacus
>>80442522It's like an 8 year old's manifesto on fighting games saying that blocking is OP and should be banned. I'm surprised they don't ban counterspells.
>>80442522How is tabletop sim for playing EDH?
>>80442564I had this whole thing trying to pitch playing The Ozolith because I forgot it started with "The" and didn't see it in your list.I agree outpost siege isn't great but it's your only source of sustained card advantage and you're hurting for that pretty badly. Sword of the Animist is a card I've appreciated in Boros for thinning out lands and keeping me even on ramp with Green decks.>>80442617I tried it with a friend who wanted to play Yugioh (I do not know the rules for Yugioh) and it worked surprisingly well, but every game action is incredibly fiddly because you have to interact with each card as a physical object. Clunky as all hell with few shortcuts. Things might've improved in the past few years, though.
>>80442522>- For cards with may triggers that involve "taxing" [Smothering Tithe, Mystic Remora, rhystic study etc.) you can NOT assume a player is unable to pay - it will count as a MISSED trigger. It is on you to ask the player. NOTE: player preferences should be asked (Such as: White do you plan to play for mystic ever? Or white can you tell me if you plan on paying) but the player who played the card needs ask for EVERYONE'S preferences and follow through with them. Literally autistic. I hate people who constantly fucking ask "are you gonna pay". I tell them to shut up, I know the card is there. And I'll tell them if I'll pay for it.
>>80442522>- Commanders are NOT required to be revealed until after everyone mulligansThis is one of the only reasonable things here.
So which is better for lifegain and drain anyway, Kambal or Liesa? I saw some discussion but it didn't really seem to say anything.
>that deck idea you have been sitting on for a while but will never build because you just know it will be fun for 2 games before never touching it again
>>80442522>No mass land destruction spells or combos. (combos/spells that remove from a players board ((including theft)) more than 3 total lands per player or 9 lands total ((which ever is reached first if any)) will be ignored by the board - the other affects, if any, can resolve. Cards that say destroy all lands are banned regardless) NOTE: planeswalkers are NOT affected by this rule. In rare rule conflicting cases (such as player 1 plays a damnation and another player responds with a natural affinity, the response will fail unless a clear path to victory is found - at the hosts discretion)
>>80442706Depends largely on your meta and what you're trying to do. Broadly, the more non-creature strategies you run into, the more you can run Kambal as a stax piece and protect him while your opponents either slow down their plans or wither. Liesa is better as an aggressive drain commander, but you can also put yourself in positions where it's not safe to swing with her but it's not safe to hold back and not regain life.
>>80442730More like>that deck idea i've been sitting on for a while but don't know how to build competently so i just never actually bother trying
>>80442790this is me with Arcanis
What's the secret spice I need to grab for this deck to become a true Dungeon Master and fulfill my Deep Dark Fantasies?
>>80442807"Once each turn" doesn't mean shit if Sefris is flickered.
>>80442807Invest in a not poopy mechanic or go infinite with flickers to draw your whole deck and combo out
>>80442522Honestly, now that I think about it, blood moon and those big land wipes are some of mono-red’s only options against those big decksIt doesn’t make any sense to ban them because it pretty much invalidates entire archetypesI think I’m just gonna try and find a different playgroup. The owner of this one is really gas-lighty and weird. Any ideas as to where I can find a new group?
>>80442654is it possible to play with other people using a pirated copy of TTS?
>>80442107Let me guess, all your commanders are all 3+ colors>>80442122My issue is the format being used as a keyword. That's lazy, and made so WOTC can create some sort of standard for their products, which is against the spirit of EDH.
>>80441376based. fuck big box stores. only spend your money at an lgs and swindle walmarget at all opportunities. i pulls a coffers and a marsh flats from lifted packs.
>>80442864Unfortunately finding a new group is hard, especially now. For obvious reasons, many in these threads find options like discord to be anathema to the culture, so I've never seen people try to actively congregate. You could try finding the people in your current sphere who are the least onerous and splintering off but that too has its risks.>>80442874Not sure. I got mine on sale ages ago so I never had to deal with connection weirdness.
>>80441707>>80441906Put Ashnod's Alter and Phyrexian Alter in there, Orzhov loves saccing shit. Smothering Tithe and dark ritual of course. And every deck can use Jeweled Lotus.
>>80442730I don't have this problem. I make like one new deck every 4 years and they never retire.
>>80442884I used to lift packs from Walmart, but they started putting tags in like every other pack.
>>80443009i scan collectors packs as regular packs, and full price commander decks as the cheap ones.
How many Strip Mine effects do you run in your decks?
>>80443163Do you count Armageddon as a strip mine?
>>80443166>ArcanisNah I'm talking single targeted land removal
>>80443166Armageddon's more of a Lightning Bolt
>>80443184Ignore the Arcanis quote. Ignore it.
>>80443163I run strip mine and wasteland in all my decks, then I usually also have at least two spells/creatures that can target either lands or just anything.
>>80443189You're lucky I was here 12 hours ago or that would be fucking incomprehensible >>80443184Fair enough. In that case, 1-2 at most, and mostly stuff that's flexible like beast within or wrecking ball. I don't have anyone running kill-on-sight lands so it's mostly just for incidental utility lands or color hate.
>>804431631~2 but only because I have only one stripmine.I guess my stupid jund deck has more of them because of beast within and pic.
>>80443219>12 hours ago...I should probably sleep.
>>80443279And I should probably do something with my third monitor other than keep these threads up and yet here we are, both looking like assholes.

How many copies of a TSR timeshifted card do I need to own to manipulate the market? Im up to 60 Mulldrifters. Id like to destroy them but not until I have the majority of the supply. I could buy the ~240 on tcgplayer but Id rather accumulate on cardkingdom (for combined shipping) until the final stretch.
>>80443416Are you the same anon who bought like 1000 copies of amphin mutineer?
What is the elf version of Krenko?
>>80443472Arguably Lathril, but Rys fits the bill better.
>>80442326God i fucking wish they'd errata all serpents and nagas into being snakes. Which reminds me of the clusterfuck that is sea creature tribal, with their 500 different creature types
>>80443425Unfortunately I am not. I aspire to collect so many timeshifted mulldrifters over the next year, though. By my best estimate (number pulled out of my ass) there cant be more than around ~3,000 of any given TSR timeshifted card. Hopefully the number is closer to 2 and I am able to destroy half.
>>80443520why do you hate mulldrifter?
>>80443515It's so weird because half the time they treat creature types as essential disposable flavor text, and then suddenly you end up with shit like "oh fuck, we made every one-off hatebear a human because fuck it, why not be a human" and suddenly you have a meta tribal deck. But then you end up with the Calamari Crew being listed by name on every piece of shit like Whelming Wave until you start being concerned that they're going to make a new Supertype called OCEAN or some shit to hold the lot of them.
>spend 5 mana>to get 6 mana>that can only be used for specific thingsThat'll be $8 please.
>>80443538All of the Eldraine castles are great and will only grow more and more expensive because they're really akward to reprint
>>80443538If you have enough forests, it's essentially a strict upgrade to a forest. Sure it's marginal but a forest that can tap for GG sometimes while filtering colors is damn good.
>>80442522>(such as player 1 plays a damnation and another player responds with a natural affinity, the response will fail unless a clear path to victory is found - at the hosts discretion) you just know some Simic cunt couldnt handle getting his shit blown up after ramping for 5 turns straight
>>80443531>hate mulldrifterAu contraire, I am indifferent towards the Mulldrifter. I am intend to destroy as many timeshifted Mulldrifters as I can because I thought it would be funny. I picked the Mulldrifter because it is a very cheap and playable card with few options for 'bling'. I would like to make this option, the timeshifted Mulldrifter, much more rare. I want to see if this affects the market and/or the attitude towards this printing. To have any real impact I will need many more Mulldrifters. When the Day of the Burn comes I will upload a webm here.
>>80443615You do realize that in order to impact the market, artificial scarcity is sufficient, right? All you do by destroying units you hold is lower your relative control of the market. It doesn't increase scarcity relative to simply having the units but not selling them.
Tenza or Hero's Blade for an Aurelia the Warleader list?
>>80443631>it's not about the money, it's about sending a message
>>80443718Hero's blade is a bitch to equip if you cast it after Aurelia or need to move it, and it doesn't give trample. I'd go with the Maul
>>80441506How many LTB triggers do you see on average in a game?

>>80443788I think everyone has looked at Jhoira and had the same thoughts.
>>80443791You're running Vivien's Invocation with 3 creatures. You're running 32 lands with no ramp and no card draw in a deck that can do nothing until turn 4, when it casts Toski, then enchants the shit out of him, and then you're reminded that exile exists. You have literally 10x as many auras as creatures. Is this a ruse? Am I getting memed on? Like I get Toski gets posted every goddamn thread but even so this deck was built by a madman. What level are you on, my dude.
>>80442807Clones as a sort of revolving dungeon door sounds kind of neat. I'm sure you could ask opponents to strip out their leather suits and settle it in the ring to keep it on theme.

>>80443940Ah, but what is someone with poor threat assessment but a threat themselves? Maybe they are truly the ones with poor threat assessment.
>>80443952Nah, they're a wildcard that randomizes the winner. There's nothing you can do except excise them.
>>80443926I never comment on people's threat assessmentThey make bad plays, I'll tell them about it after their turn, but I don't play politics

Maybe it'd be fun and I should stop worrying. I definitely have been thinking about it a long time. But it seems shallow. >>80444506I get it. The first five precons were all wedges because Alara had just done shards, and then later they did shard precons. But there was some Ravnica levels of "shit, what do these color combos DO here" and then taking the lowest-hanging fruit. I guess there was at least a white fungus at one point.
>>80444506Counters white, sac black, green tokens.
>>80444523I get the braids of fire, but half of what I like doing is waiting until the last endstep to suspend something so you have mana up and don't show your cards 1 turnbuckle early.I do a lot of control also so people don't just rek my shit while things are in suspend. What do you want to suspend? Fat dragons/leviathans/sphinges extra turns, etc etc?
>>80444506>KathrilIt's so easy to make him a flying, indestructible, hexproof, menace, vigilance, lifelink, trampling 10/10. I guess he's not popular among voltronfags because he doesn't use auras and/or equipment, he's more of a graveyard deck.
>>80444621Essential. Big craw bullshit. I already have Kalamax for spellslinger so I'm much more interested in "slow shitty Omniscience" than I am in doing complete nonsense.

>>80444644There are only like three reanimation targets that win the game on the spot, every other card dies to removal. It's perfectly fine to play Elesh Norn, Jin or Sheoldred as cards that win the game if no one has removal.
>>80444644I'll agree with you for all of them but Urubrask (Since he's actually fair) and Sheoldred (Cause sheoldred IS a reanimator deck)

>>80445577>>80445640Probably this. RC is a close second, but the format would be a lot better off without made for commander cards. >>80446592>"a huge lover of partner which is a commander only mechanic"Some of the "partner with" cards are pretty good to have in the 99>>80446656A good amount of people hate "goodstuff" decks and partner decks tend to be "play this legendary and add 1~2 colors to it so you can play the best cards of those colors"
>>80446699>GAAIV player>calling other decks unfairhope you told him to pound sand
>>80446704Okay I agree, the older partners really lent themselves to 'goodstuffs', especially with how good Kraum/Tymna were at drawing cards, and Thrasios goes without saying. But especially with the new suite of 1 color options, there's a ton of options to really personalize what you want your deck to do. I find a lot of interesting space to build partners in 3 color pairs that most legendary creatures don't fit very well, or if they do, it gives you an alternative option. But that's just me, I love the personalization aspect. The goodstuffs partners are definitely cards to hate, but it's a bit much to hate the whole mechanic because of them.
>>80446687I suppose that's a valid reason.>>80446699I've been lurking here for years and I just never understood the irrational hate for the mechanic since no one at my LGS even gives a crap.>>80446704This one I completely understand and it's a pretty good reason but i guess I've never had that issue at my LGS since we all play whatever the fuck we want and its usually thematic decks over strong decks although we do use strong cards.

has anyone built/played Ghoulcaller Gisa? I like the idea of swarming the board with lots of zombies, but i feel like the deck is crazy slow. i'm running it just as 'play a lot of zombies and zombie generals' and using stuff like Junkyo Bell, Stonewrought Masterwork, and sac creatures like Carrion Feeder/Nantuko Husk/Phyrexian Ghoul to make a giant zombie to crack with my commander and using either combat or etb/death effects like Ayara, Blood Artist, Vengeful Dead, Zulaport etc to ping over the boardcan post list if anyone cares, but just generally is she better with reanimator, or is she just bad
Is there any big brain possibilities with this

>>80448629>powercreeps BrundicladNothing personnel
>>80448867I’m not necessarily saying that your deck in specific will be boring. But you’re more building around Biovisionary and using Esix as an enabler, rather than building around Esix itself.I’ll grant that it’s an autistic differentiation to draw, but “I can use this card to enable another interesting thing I want to do” and “This card is interesting” feel like different categories to me. If you start from Esix as your basic point of inspiration, you’re going to arrive at a few very common and relatively linear approaches. That, to me, makes Esix itself uninteresting.
What's the most underrated tribal?
>>80448937huh, i notice how you are not actually posting any alternatives. it is almost as if you are just an ass mad contrarian or something but im sure thats not true. how about you show us an interesting deck of yours?

>>80448939Kavu, Beast, Myr.
>>80448939“Mechanical synergy” tribal, which isn’t really tribal at all. It’s just a competent deck.
>>80448961>it is almost as if you are just an ass mad contrarian or somethingThen you didn’t read the post. I laid out the differentiation I was drawing and acknowledged that it’s autistic. I don’t find a card interesting in and of itself if it would naturally point you to a narrow set of ways to play. It can be used to enable something else that’s interesting, which makes for an interesting deck, but the card itself remains boring.Let’s look at Paradox Engine. There were a lot of “fair” decks that used it in order to punch above their normal weight. They used it in an interesting way, to make off-the-wall decks that wouldn’t normally work. But that was them using the card to enable something else that was interesting. The card itself was boring, as seen by the kinds of decks that were built around using it to its full potential.

>>80449107Because it isn’t a conversation about decks, but about whether or not a card on its own is interesting. Here’s an interesting card, though.
