Two questions for you from a prior threads.

Hey Lone Valkyrie, in Wu Dong Qian Kun the Dimensional Fetus scenario says
>You have become a Planetary Ruler and so it stands to reason that you should get your own empty plane to rule over.
>This plane will have the bare basics of flourishing life.
The resources required to support cultivation clans/sects take huge xianxia amounts of time to develop and ours would only have the bare basics needed for life to flourish, doesn't that mean that we can't really build any real sects/clans in that world until at best several thousand years later and likely far longer if at all?

Lone Valkyrie can I import a weapon as a different sort of weapon for item gifts in Mondaiji and if I do would it change the type of item or just give the item its powers?

The sects in Wu Dong Qian Kun don't really depend on resources like that. A lot of the resources the sects use so much are actually produced directly by other cultivators. Nothing stopping you from forming a sect. Plus, there would be some spirit plants, just nothing major like the forests of Yuan Trees. I didn't want a scenario reward to give like half the item section basically for free x100. The item section is also still there for exactly that kind of thing, and a lot of the options are perfectly good for use in a sect.

>What's going on in your chains right now?
Trying to figure out a jump where one person can ostensibly make an impact without raising an entire organization dedicated to it, preferably one where they have some "power" that isn't just whatever tech/equipment they're carrying.
>>
>>79014370
Currently I'm wondering how the fuck do the people who make write ups for all the NPCs for their overlord guilds manage it.
>>
>>79014415
>magic scholar/mad science chain
Did one of those before, pretty fun.
Sword and Sorcery, for an early jump. Generic Cyberpunk or MCU for some good early tech.
>>
>>79014370
Tried to make a Toriko duplicate and came up with way more perks for the gourmet hunter origin and only a few for the others (CEO, Chef) so it's super unbalanced.
>>
>>79014370
Right now I'm trying to decide if merging The Subtle Knife with my Soul Dragon is a good idea.

I mean, my Soul being able to literally cut through reality to visit other universes sounds neat as fuck and it'd mean he'd be able to effortlessly tear through any opposition. But actually doing it requires I go to Marvel Magic, so I can import The Subtle Knife as a Soulsword

... I'm also trying to decide if I should redo my His Dark Materials build and take that really really shitty drawback so I can have enough points to pick up the Soul Armor item, and wondering if turning my Soul Dragon into armor would mean it'd be animate dragon fullplate
>>
>>79014442
I'm confused. It's this just any setting with large amounts of personal power?
>>
Anyone here made builds for Generic Universal Monster? What did you do?
>>
>>79014370
My brain is mush right now. I've been looking at SB's Marvel Comics Kid Superheroes jump trying to figure out how many Drawbacks and Scenarios I can take without grabbing something I definitely can't deal with, and how many purchases of Old Lace I can pick up.
>>
>>79014255
>The sects in Wu Dong Qian Kun don't really depend on resources like that.
Aren't the various special energies needed for advancement (Yin, Yang, Nirvana, etc.) primarily obtained from environments where they've naturally gathered in large amounts(the hundred empire war battlefield) or mines with concentrated forms of them (the yang mine in the starting town and Nirvana mine that mission with the Dao Sect)? I remember it being mentioned that cultivators could condense pills from their energy but that it was horribly time consuming and inefficient so pretty much nobody really did it.

>I didn't want a scenario reward to give like half the item section basically for free x100. The item section is also still there for exactly that kind of thing, and a lot of the options are perfectly good for use in a sect.
I mean if your reach that point in the scenario you are the undisputed master of everything and everyone, nobody is going to be able to argue with you if you decide to claim 100 of every top level treasure including almost everything offered in the items section.

If we want to get our own plane going the only real option seems to be to plunder the Wu Dong Qian Kun plane clean; take all the people, beasts, spirit plants, and other resources to our plane. Certainly possible as a heavenly sovereign equivalent in a lower world but kind of bizarre after finishing the scenario where we became the ruler/protector of the plane we'd be plundering.

>What's going on in your chains right now?
Trying to decide between the sword or spear for the main weapon since it will color my perception of what Jumper should look like.

That's no where near close to being a Revolver.

... There's a pretty neat revolver in Aldnoah Zero called Soft Iron that's completely unable to kill. It still damages though, so blowing someone's face off is still a viable tactic even if they'll survive

There is no item in the items section that can solve this problem, the resource world would only be one of multiple sources of such resources for a strong sect and thus would only be able to support a much smaller one on it's own.

>If you can cut through reality to visit other universes, wouldn't that basically be the same as Sparking?

LN's Yuuki's version of Creator (Unique Skill) can analyze, copy and create skills based on Yuuki's desires (up to the Unique level). It can also aid an Unique Skill to evolve into an Ultimate Skill. It can also make 'attributes' that do not count as Skills, like the Anti-Skill attribute which nullifies all magic and skills used against him.
Chosen Hero can target a bigger range of people and evolves into an Ultimate Skill that also gives you a king aura where everyone is loyal around you in a massive continental nation.
Also, Ciel got really overpowered with Analyze. She can basically copy skills just by watching their effects. Including other Ultimate Skills or even install a replica of Michael's control circuit on those absorbed by Belzebuth/Azathoth.
And apparently all the seven Virtues Ultimate skills are the control mechanisms of the laws of Veldanava's multiverse. With all the angelic skills you are pretty close to him in power.

>”This item explicitly gives resources in ‘great numbers’”
>”There is no item that gives lots of resources”
Are we reading the same jump here? Because there is definitely a discounted 200CP item that provides tons of resources. Sure it’s not literally the entire setting, but it doesn’t need to be. Your current complaint seems to be you don’t get all the resources of a super sect for free, on top of owning a giant plane that provides you with tons of energy. And as was already said by Valk, the plane does have spirit plants. It just doesn’t have the really big stuff, which isn’t needed for a strong sect to form and can be bought from the doc if need be anyway.

Those are neat too. Unfortunately I can only see them as a brute force weapon while everything else seems to glide in comparison.

I was thinking of just using fists since it is the type of thing I enjoy seeing, but it feels like weapons add more in terms of power and versatility. Plus I'm shit at finding appealing characters who specialize in that.

That's true of the larger axes but a pair of hand axes can offer a lot of punch without compromising style.

>punch-gloves not being versatile or powerful
Now, see, that's where you just have to get a little inventive. Dabble in a little spellcraft and make yourself "shotgun" style caster cartridges that can be fired from your gauntlets on impact. Rig up a magical conversion system to funnel the raw power of a summoned creature into each and every punch. That kind of stuff. A magitech punchwizard really can be a lot of fun.

>Are we reading the same jump here? Because there is definitely a discounted 200CP item that provides tons of resources.
Those resources aren't enough to support a strong sect though, which is the goal in this context.

>Sure it’s not literally the entire setting, but it doesn’t need to be.
By the end of the scenario you quite literally rule and own the entire setting of the jump, that's the entire goal you are seeking to accomplish. To claim the thing that makes you the indisputable ruler of the entire setting. Only you can't take any of it with you, instead you get a new mostly empty world with minimal resources insufficient for supporting any sect you might want to build there.

>And as was already said by Valk, the plane does have spirit plants. It just doesn’t have the really big stuff, which isn’t needed for a strong sect to form and can be bought from the doc if need be anyway.
Powerful sects need resources well beyond what is offered by the items section, the 400 CP item you are referring to is just a training ground of such a sect and wouldn't even provide a sizable fraction of one's needs. Great for smaller groups to plunder for themselves but not going to provide for a large sect and would have a limit to how far the resources could take you well before getting anyone up to higher levels in the setting.

Individual high end resources, such as the Yuan Tree, are great and would be valuable for a sect but wouldn't replace the wide variety of resources needed for one to grow and develop.

Reminder that's Senator Armstrong's nanomachines:
-Make him impervious to physical trauma, including that capable of slicing a Godzilla-sized mecha into a hundred pieces trivially
-Allows him to trivially overpower even Raiden and Sam, both of whom are capable of the above feat
-Makes him physically faster than both of them, with both able to move and strike faster than the human eye can see
-Gives him regeneration powers allowing him to regenerate from anything, including limb loss, as long as his heart remains intact
-Allows him to manipulate energy and perform highly destructive energy attacks with his fists
-Gives him some kind of magnetic or telekinetic ability strong enough to lift dozens of military vehicles as well as crush and destroy them at will even across a distance of hundreds of meters

Nanomachines, son.

Question for jumpmakers, when you make a jump for a setting containing an ability that is extremely powerful and yet would be quite easy to acquire in setting do you make it expensive because it's powerful or cheap because it's easy to obtain?

No joke, Harry Potter. Apperently there is an easy way to modify technology to work by magic, in fact so easy that a first year at Hogwarts was able to do it.

Nah. You'd think so but Outer Gods in Lovecraft are massively more powerful than the ones in Demonbane. It's kind of dumb but I'll explain. In Demonbane and DYN Freaks, the higher level Outer Gods (like Nyarly and Yog-Sothoth) are described as infinite existences which encompass everything in various ways. They are, in effect, all-powerful from a conventional standpoint. However, the Outer Gods in Lovecraft are a little different. They are described as transcending everything. Reality, space, time, the laws of the world and the universe. All of that stuff is totally meaningless to the Outer Gods. Words like "infinity" or the concept of an infinite multiverse or all of existence have absolutely no meaning to them. They are, as stupid as this sounds to say, infinitely beyond infinity. Or more concisely, the concept of infinity is just something that one of them thought up one time and doesn't apply to any of them. It's the same reason something like a Hadou God means nothing to a proper Lovecraft Outer God like Yog-Sothoth; it literally doesn't matter how many orders of infinity or transcendental magnitudes or whatever you operate on because all of that shit is just a made-up game to the Outer Gods. It's like trying to defeat somebody at an imaginary game they invented and whose rules they can change at will. Not only is it impossible to beat them, it's also pointless since winning wouldn't actually threaten their existence at all.

Outer Gods in Lovecraft aren't anime antagonists, they don't really have power levels in a conventional sense. They're the omnipotent, absolute beings whose existence presents the literature equivalent of a character sheet with no stats on it other than "YOU LOSE" in big bold letters. They exist to make their setting the shithole that it is merely by existing.

Between Negima and UQ Holder which would you say is more dangerous at the moment?
>>
So you can buy the Games of Divinity in Exalted Sidereals.
Is there any actual detail on what they /are/ beyond a super-fun (and 100% addicting, considering both the current situation and item description) passtime?
How do I not get obsessed with them myself, if I do decide to buy the item?

Question for you guys. I'm starting to fluff out the drop in origin for Circle of the moon, and I only have three origins with single perklines. Drop In, Hunter, and Monster. Anybody got ideas for a fourth origin, or more ideas that I can use to try and push them up to double?

Bout ready to post another WIP for WHFB Vampires. Not giving a deadline because I'm fucking awful with those, but it'll have the fully finished Bloodline builder this time, along with some perks, items, and the beginnings to the Lair section. Maybe the beginnings of the Army-Builder + Scenarios document.

Also, there's gonna be another update for Beastmen. Mostly going to be me adding to the Mutations table, plus either the modification of Lunatic Child of Morrslieb (adding to the perk + a price increase) or an additional perk that's discounted if bought with LCoM. Not sure which one to do just yet.

Yog-Sothoth is generally one of the better Outer Gods, yeah. He's still really alien but unlike most he does tend to honor his bargains and even tries to be a good dad to his half-eldritch kids. He also doesn't look down on people for being lesser than himself, unlike Nyarly who loves trolling mortals and making them miserable.

Humanity is also the chosen people of Yog-Sothoth which is actually why Earth hasn't been obliterated by the like fifty Great Old Ones and eldritch horrors that live there or visit regularly. Nobody wants to piss off Yog-Sothoth by destroying his chosen people and threatening his kids, including Nyarlathotep himself.

I don't know about the extra details but Nega-Desire from Nirvana Yuga seems effective at ignoring corruption, charm and seduction. However I think Be Faithful To Your Desires from Duel Terminal Part 1 would allow complete immunity from it or at least allows you to just kinda purge all the problems that could come from it.
>Temptations and psychological addictions simply do not apply to you, your dedication to enjoyment too much to let short-term gains get in the way of a much more delightful pay off later on. As a side effect, this also lets you make the conscious decision to cease following your desires, whether it’s for the sake of your family, social propriety, or something else entirely, without really feeling bad about all the fun you’re missing out on.
However, I now wonder how well a jumper who picked up stuff like Myriad Colours of Flesh and the Nega-Saver/Desire stuff from Nirvana Yuga would do within Exalted. Or better yet, what happens when someone also utilizes Dies Irae's Transmutation to fuse with the Games of Divinity with the aforementioned perks.

Actually in at least one story humanity becomes ruled by nyarlathotep as we become able to understand his dark sciences, this leads us to become a great star spanning race reaching heights of decadence never dreamed of before.

Just so nyarly can laugh as he rips it all away from us to watch humanity scream in pain and desperation at the fall from grace.

[Dragonlance, jump #587]

Drawbacks: Pernicious Patronage, Damned, Dumpstat: Wisdom, Heavy Heritage (1900)

Free pick: Palanthus

Rolled The Third Dragon War, 1060 – 1018 PC

"Human", Divine (1850)

Alignment Choice: True Neutral

Acolyte (Free)
Experienced Classes: Mystics (1700)
Epiphany (1400)
Divine Favor (1200)
Archmage of High Sorcery (600)
Renegade Magecraft (0)

I took one look at the balance of the good gods and the evil gods, noticed that evil gods /literally never abided by it/, and immediately started blasting the evil gods without warning.

This upset a lot of the good gods for some reason, and quickly broke into all-out divine war. At one point, my forces directly attacked the concepts of good and evil to weaken the dilneation between them. Apart from generally having better control over Wish-level effects, my forces stole the Graygem which I used to gain a decisive edge and strip them of their divinity.

After accomplishing the bad future where Raistlin won, except having no brother to whine at me about what a bad idea it was, as I set about compelling and empowering the mortal races to transform Krynn into a divine fusion reactor that would incinerate the evil gods into energy for me and demoting the good and neutral gods into blue collar jobs I finally got round to taking a look at the plan of creation stored in Toril.

I was very embarrassed to see how much I'd gotten wrong.

They bind principles more fundamental than Virtue (so Conky's I Win powers can't auto-win them) and run on "world-mechanisms", they're older than time, Theion came up with the idea and Autochthon built it and they are explicitly just an entertainment system. That's about it I think.

I miss those days too. There were a bunch of small and fun ideas and writefagging. >Divine Favor (200):You’ve garnered the attention of a deity, but in a good way. Well, for the most part. That deity will look out for you, help you when it can if it’s not too much trouble. Now, fair is fair, the god may come and ask for assistance on occasion, but you’ll come out better for the deal anyway. For the most part. In future adventures in distant lands expect to find local divine patronage.
Do you have any idea how much fun this perk is when you double down and have two gods fighting over you? Like having Athena and Poseidon fighting for me. Or Mystra and Shar. Or really just any two opposing gods. I love it as it is always interesting to see what happens.

nta, but Lovecraft got over his racism later in his life and generally became a much nicer and personable man after he finally moved out of his family home after his mother passed away. Heck, he even ended up marrying a Jewish woman afterall, and purportedly gained like 20 pounds on her home cooking (which is a good thing because the guy was skinny as a rail)

sorta kinda. like the episode is someone makes a holomuseum exhibit from very corrupted historical files that misrepresents everything the voyager did as sinister, and the dude who made the exhibit or runs it accidentally activates a backup copy of the doctor who knows what happened, and the episode is him fixing the inaccuracies before a mob gets mad about him 'changing history'. then after that copy doctor leaves it shows that it's now a new holo-exhibit about how the doctor trying to put truth to the events of the past was the first step towards a lasting peace between the two peoples

Both pets are banned from the game room and no amount of whining, cat opera, paws under the door, or suspicious noises will change my mind. Cannot trust either of them. Particularly because I also paint in there and there is very little more infuriating than discovering you accidentally painted a stray cat/dog hair on a mini and it won't come off.
Also they both eat cardboard and chase anything that moves. It would be mayhem.

Thanks! Putting more effort into the backstory this time. Trying to strike a middle ground between unreliable narrators, purposeful mixing of genres to suit the state's narrative (i.e. Sumero-Akkadian Kings all the way down to the Neo-Assyrian Empire would often have the historical accounts of their own deeds written in the style of a mytho-religious epic), and the craziness that comes with a Jumper, even one trying to be subtle.

Exaltation is a good reward for loyal and competent servants, and now I can make the Exaltations. Also I have an entire solar system that I rule, which is nice, seeing as it’s already nothing strange for Solars to have cults worshiping them.
>>
>>79020108
No idea how true it is, but I did hear that it's because large dogs can mess people up easily that people bred them to be gentler, and their owners also generally put more effort training them properly. Aggression in something the size of a chihuahua is much less of a threat than aggression in something the size of a Newfoundland.

You don't wanna know.
>>
>>79020544
I almost did apprentice hunter and master, but the master gets like, two minutes of screen time. Shows up, the kids fall, and we don’t see him again until the final battle. I don’t really want to try and base an entire origin based on him with so little to work with. Hugh, the swordsman, might be possible? I just hadn’t considered him as not a hunter.
>>
>>79014741
Huh, the down left thing kind of look like a penis.
>>
>>79020578
That's really fair for the mentor.
Hugh the swordman might be tricky, he exist to get possessed by the DANKNESS and get being a boss with cool stuff.
>>
>>79020618(me)
Oh wait

"As a boss, Hugh attacks mainly with his sword. He can also use the Crucifix, the Knife, the Axe and the Holy Water, which all act exactly the same as Nathan's versions of these sub-weapons. He has a dash attack in which he holds out his sword, as well as an attack in which he stabs his sword into the ground, unleashing two giant flames in front of and behind him. Finally, he can surround his sword in white flames of massive size and swing it downward.

After he has lost enough health, Hugh will begin to flash red, likely indicating that he has activated DSS mode (or a similar power). In this mode, he now tosses two sub-weapons in one throw, making them harder to dodge. He also gains the ability to release eight destroyable spirit swords, which, if they make contact with Nathan, steal 8 HP and transfer them to him."

So basically, he is a sword boy, who hunter and DDS better.
Eh...
>>
For a fleet, would people prefer detailed flagship customisation (buying a chassis and then a lot of upgrades on that) with less detail on the rest of the fleet (buying ships of a certain class in bulk), or customising the whole fleet (buying each ship by the chassis and building on top of that)?
>>
>>79020672
I think the latter makes more sense seeing as the flagship is just one ship.
>>
>>79020672
making a really good flagship
>>
>>79020659
>So basically, he is a sword boy, who hunter and DDS better.
Pretty much, yeah. His entire schtick is that despite technically being better, he didn't inherit the whip that totally isn't vampire killer.

Still, his not dss thing is giving me the idea to make up some extra cards for him as a capstone item. The cards that exist are based on the planets minus earth, so I could either make up a Gaea card and an attribute card to pair it with, or lean towards the gods the planets are named after and give him... Six action cards based on the other olympians.

I think I might go with this after all, thanks. Any other ideas for stuff for him?
