One question is, why did thid happen? A big line across all the minis.

Anyone used Siraya smoky black? Was curious how it performed, it definitely looks cool in the few images I could find.

What are those torrents to in the link? They are only 1mb or so, seems a bit odd.
>>
Ah they are trackers. Should I use a VPN for these or should they be decently safe from copyright trolls?
>>
>>76927633
Sometimes that happens on under-supported models at the "thickest" layer in your print. But if it's happening consistently, and with pretty small prints, then your z-rod probably just needs lubricating
>>

>Ah they are trackers. Should I use a VPN for these or should they be decently safe from copyright trolls?

No. Btw, is there a Mega nz upload of these Patreon and WH40K files? There's no seeders and I have a month of premium Mega that I'd like to put to use.
>>
>>76927633
a lot of reasons. slight shake in the machine, slight shake in your house or the table, momentary power dip or minor usb short, the actual support raft slipping from FEP tension but not failing.

it's most likely not a support issue though, otherwise it would have been localised to one model or wherever the support failed, and the part most likely wouldnt have printed completely.

Did my first calibration print, seems like there was alot of airbubbles in the resin affter shaking it. The curling bottom layer is because the bottom layer exposure time is too high right?

A gentle stir with the plastic scraper is enough to get rid of most of the bubbles. You don't need them ALL gone before printing but try to minimize them.
And yeah almost all thin straight things will warp a little like that with resin, your bottom exposure is supposed to be "too high". Try the Ameralabs Town test print. It takes longer but is much more useful imo.

Just realized that the chitubox profile for a photon mono se have 240mm/min as bottom lift speed, lift speed and retract speed. Is there a sweetspot across alot of machines that is better than the default 65?

It was never released. Whatever is there is what people have pieced together to seed.

The default chitubox and lychee lift speed settings for most printers are completely insane and only there so the manufacturers can claim 40mm/h print speeds. I've got an SM4k and I've been getting 12mm/h.

Test kobold came out very smooth, even at this small a size. I broke his spear in the wash, but thats easily fixable.

Just had a print fail on me, there was a outline of the mini in the resin vat, is this something to do with my exposure time ?

>>
>>76929901

>>76927559
Your Company of the Circlet looks good
>>
>>76929924
Ah, I assumed that it was just the outline. You should have said there were supports still. Then it sounds like your supports aren't strong enough and broke once it started printing the model layers. Probably check the support density, or you are using smaller supports than you actually need. You may also need to change the orientation so the footprint is less against the screen which can cause suction.
>>
>>76929971
Ok, well I releveled, added bigger and more supports and tilted the mini more, lets hope this works

Not enough supports for that part of the model.
It usually happens on the thickest layer, where the most material is getting printed at once. Because it's such a large area, the print is really likely to stick to the FEP when the build plate retracts. Instead, the FEP just deforms (which it's supposed to do a bit) and the layer never detatches.

Either the whole layer won't properly detach from the FEP before the plate comes back down for the next layer, so no resin flows back into the gap to get cured. Or sometimes its more about the rotational forces. So say you're printing a L shape, the vertical bit prints fine but because the horizontal bar is A) a lot of material at once and B) currently only a very thin layer, its structurally weak so instead of lifting off the plate, it just kindof flops and stretches and doesn't detach properly either.

Looks like the former for you though. I'd try adding more supports around the problem area to make sure that the force from the build plate retracting is being applied evenly across the layer, and it can also be good to go into your Slicing settings and change the lifting distance to 6-7mm to really make sure that your layers detach.

LD-002R is basically an Anycubic Photon, it's a color screen so unless you can get it cheaper than a Photon (170) you're probably better off getting a mono. Best priced mono is the Voxelab Proxima, which nobody on here seems to have.

If you want the mono Creality, you should go for the LD-002H.
>>
Any small amount of savings you get from buying a color lcd over one of the 2k monos is negated when you need to replace your screen in a quarter of the time. Mono screen printers at the same resolution are faster, more detailed, and last longer. Mono is the shit right now

I used heroforge to print out Christmas presents for my family. Didn't have my printer at that point, so bought the STL and sent it off to a 3rd party to print them some monsters too.

I was happy with the results. Knowing what I know now, I realise that with enough trawling through the archive etc I could have gotten a lot higher detail/dynamically posed models, but it's still pretty damn good. And it's nice that they all came out in a consistent art-style/ and can be personalised.

The system ain't perfect, but it's pretty good and decent value (although I got mine in the half price sale)

Hey is printing terrain in water-washable resin a cost effective solution compared to purchasing it or printing it on the more standard spool filament printer?

I only have the liquid resin printer and I'm curious if any of you ran an over/under on printing terrain on it, because it seems like it'd take a shit load of goo to make sizeable things.

If you want to do minis and terrain you'll want to have both types of printers. I make very large fantasy dioramas for example so I use a cr10 and cr10max for terrain and a saturn and 4k mini for miniatures

Let's get some terrain up in this bitch. We have so many packs in the repo that are missing stretch goals and these creators overprice the living shit out of terrain models.

I put a couple in the pastebin. What exactly are you looking for?

If you just need something affordable to get printing again, the Ender 3, Ender 3 v2, Mega S.

If you want one of the above with a larger buildplate, Ender 3 Max, CR-10, or Mega X.

If you want something with all the bells and whistles that's big enough to print Iron Man Armor, Ender 5 Plus or Anycubic Chiron.

Just something affordable, and that can print off a select few minis. Maybe some vehicles.

Alternatively, how do I get Chitubox to support tiny islands that are out of reach from the outside of the model (like the back of a helmet for example)
>>
>>76946301
I'd love to get a resin printer, but I'm still kinda green at printing complex stuff, and most resin printers have the kind of complexity I don't currently have the time to work with.

Besides that, I still have a lot of Filament left over, so I want to go through that before switching over to resin.
>>
>>76946384
who said you could only have one or another?

>>76946206
Ender 3v2 is $262 direct from Creality.
Ender 3 Pro is $209
Mega S is $220 on eBay and Aliexpress.
>>
>>76946384
Get an Ender 3 Pro to crank out terrain, and save up for a resin printer. In a few months the prices will have come down and there will be new printers on the market.

The problem right now is that the SM4k is in such demand places are charging an insane markup and getting it.
>>
>>76946362
Check out PrusaSlicer. It does better, but not perfect, auto supports and has an optimize orientation function. For stuff that is giving me the shits in Chitubox I get Prusa to handle and export it with supports as an STL to slice in Chitubox since that has my settings in it already.
>>
>>76946206

not really, at least imo.250 can get you an ender 3 pro but idk what the differences are and if they're worth the 50 bucks, so you'd have to look into it for yourself

ive had good luck with cromgrow (from amazon) brand ender 3, a metal extruder upgrade, and a glass bed. they require some work but ender's can put out some good shit

Lyche buries it's advanced support modification behind Pro, which is the only thing chitubox is better at. Chitubox's island detection is such a fuckup it's amazing.

>>76946864
Two big advantages:
You can search for islands and have it automatically support as many as it can. Doesn't find all of them, but finds a lot.
You can modify autosupports.
>>
>>76946965
Are the auto support and auto orient on lychee better than prusa?
>>
>>76947088
Auto orient is a joke in lychee. It loves to face the mini head down and leaves just as many islands on the model.
>>
At least I didn't make it worse... Oh well. From a distance it ain't that bad.

Also. Requesting ClayCyanide Miniatures if anyone got anything from em.
>>
>>76947165
Only Coom, no need for the rest.
>>
>>76947088
>>76947117
Yeah forget about auto orient, stick to auto supports and keep an eye on support density
>>
>>76938109

Any luck with the upload?
>>
>>76947267
Alright. I'll try auto supports and manually orient the model. Regarding density, is normal alright? Or the density depends on the model?

Use some green stuff, brown stuff milliput whatever epoxy putty to fill any imperfections and then sand and repaint. Also, where is the chick from?
>>
>>76940469
>those were made by kyoushuneku in a partnership we had with them
share your entire opr library with us or fuck off
>>
>>76947540
Anything below max density will leave islands. Sometimes even max will miss some. But at that high of a density you'll be way oversupporting some things.
I do a mid-highish density auto support and then do the max level island detection and see what needs manual supporting.

way to paint a target on everyone's head
>>
>>76948290
he's been sharing stuff in the thread. if his shit is wartermarked everyone already a target.
>>
>>76948380
A target to what? Orbital bombardment? Only if the files have some kind of virus in order to fuck up pirates can they possibly be of harm.
>>
>>76948380
Target for what, lol? The software on your printer that checks the receipt or it makes the supports fail?

Watermarking is to catch the sharing party and burn their account. OPR sharing would do diddly
>>
>>76948413
>>76948418
hey direct your scorn for >>76948290 he brought up it making us targets. though i can see it would be interesting for a patreon to share a file or two and see how far and wide it gets shared. it will never get shared as much as dolphin porn though.
>>
>>76948380
How can you tell he shared anything? None of the posts where he identifies himself include any. When I mentioned painting a target, I was talking about the thread. We already have enough trouble keeping things up without actively antagonizing patreon creators
>>
>>76948534
>how
just from reading his replies. if he responds to my post with a nintendo link full of opr we'll know.
>>
>>76945751

Can you tell me who made those and where to get them? I could have sworn I saw them on cults but can't find them
>>
>>76947792
second this
>>
>>76936307
Phrozen Sonic Mini? That's a mono screen and you're cure time should be more like 3 sec.

That aside, pic looks like "evisceration" is it happening repeatedly in the same area? If yes your LCD is probably fucked. I sent them pictures of mine doing that and after a little push and shove in broken english they're sending me new LCD. Be polite but firm they know what it is.
>>
>>76948580
Let me rephrase: how do you tell which replies are his if he doesn't say who he is?
>>
Gotten the basics of printing 28mm and 30mm mini's any tips on larger prints? (Tanks in particular)
>>
>>76949118
>how do you tell
well first i light three red candles, then ring a bell three times. following that i offer small parcels of boiled rice to the four great wind spirits before meditating on the meaning of life for three hours
then i read the thread
>>
>>76949213
I should have known better than to hope for anything approaching a helpful answer. Why are you even here? Go back to your three-way with your dog and grandmother.

I checked again and didn't find them, I do however remember seeing someone post his le10 prints in another thread so at least I know that they're somewhere.
>>
Does rain x help? I've read that it help keep the model from sticking to the vat. Have any of you tried it?
>>
>>76949430
I'm no chemist, but I guess hydrophobic is not automatically resin-phobic coating. But it could be worth to test it. On the other hand, there are nFEP sheets that are based on Teflon or something similar and already reduce sticking.

Anyone have the punga miniatures ratmen they'd like to share?

Its like some of you have a special brand of retardation. Go to Google. Search obliterator 3d model. First. Fucking. Picture that shows up. But, since I got to insult you here is your bowl of sauce.

I'm not looking specifically for STLs, but the 3D-Printing scene is pretty well established to "remix" certain models and styles from existing games. Not-Space Marines, Not-Tyranids, Not-Seraphon, etc.
Do you guys know of something out there that would fit into a 40k Eldar Corsairs army? Prince, Baron, Troops... anything. I know that they got fucked hard by GW, but from all the gay elves I only like the pirate ones.

for real though, I'll jump on any patreon (and share it here, afterwards, gladly) if I only find something that tickles the itch in the back. It's subjective, obviously. But shoot your loads. Maybe I'll like it.
