>let a little of my realm into the game in the form of a small society of necromancers with a certain quirk in the setting>might not even cross the party's path, could maybe use one to give the party a quest or item later down the line>going over the setting spark notes with the group and two players zero in on this particular facet and both ask if they can use them for PCs
>>73484617Well OP, you made your bed, sleep in it.
>>73484617Alright, Anon. What’s the quirk/realm?
>>73484658>>73484883Just guessing.Your players sound fun op.
>>73484883My bet is skeleton tiddies
>>73484883This small sect of necromancers are matriarchal, with a particular practice. At a very young age, 8ish to 11ish, they perform a magical embalming ritual on some of their chosen daughters. This grants the girls undeath and preserves their form. From then on these chosen girls are tasked with learning all the amassed necromancy, becoming wells of knowledge that can pass it on to new generations to come. They eventually become leaders of the sect. The players both want to play one of these girls, though before they have learned that much of the art to pass on (campaign will be starting at 5th level)
>>73485450>lolibaba>players want to be the lolissounds like everyone involved is a degenerate, go for iit
>>73485814But anon, the realm was supposed to be kept at a distance
>>73485951>realm seeps into setting>players pick up on realm>players okay with realm>not only that, they wish to engage with realmI see no issues, unless doing so will break your setting.
>>73484617Dont feel bad op. I too let my magical realm slip into a game this week. The party encountered a hive of mongrelmen being lead by a drider. The drider worshipped Lamashtu who gave her the ability to create life via ovipositing eggs into living hosts. The eggs hatched into mongrelmen. One player was looking to worship lamashtu for his eugenic schemes and the other player loves mongrelmen so neither of them seemed to mind/notice
>>73486872That was the most awkward drive home from the theatre. Honestly im not one for the gore but the parasitic breeding/hybridization always makes me diamonds.
>>73485450>8ish to 11ishHere is where you fucked up. Things like this need to be more specific, in that sort of culture it would be a certain significant and regular date instead of such a large and nebulous range.
>>73487167are little sisters undead?
>>73487216I mean it sounds like not every girl is suited/wants to undergo the process?three years seems fine if there is a rigorous selection or if the child must decide
>>73487931They share memories, and originally i think they were meant to be ageless. I always imagined them as undead since their experience of Rapture was so different than the PC's.
>>73487948~8-11 is basically "pre-puberty"I bet in universe he explained it as "before her first blood" or something close to that.
>>73487961they look like fuckin zombies for surebut they're being parasitized by some sort of creature, iirc
>>73488014Yeah, the slugs. But they share memories in 2, so there's an implication that they're kind of a hivemind. Maybe only as vessels of the slugs, but it's clear that the transformation changes them.
