>>66728066Take it somewhere else.
>>66728038What if I post models while also being here to shitpost?
Slowly looking to get into nurgle, 1k points is ideal but list building seems pretty awkward with high price and low model count.Guessing a lord of afflictions and atleast one unit of pusgoyle blightlords is a must for any semblance of speed.Any rot-anons got any tips?
>>66728066Are the Vampire Coast still plundering n' bloodsucking in the mortal realms? I imagine they'd love fucking with the Idoneth Deepkin
>>66728038I want to paint one unit of every faction. What factions should I start with? Also, what the fuck is up with that last rumour engine. I think it looks kind of orky but there is a chance it could be darkoath scavengers.
>>66728148I don't think so. Fairly certain the old fuck died in the end times (who didn't lol). How competitive are legions of nagash nowadays? Asking for a friend of course.
>>66728162Paint some chaos knights. They are great models.
>>66728196I actually just got box of std's a few weeks ago because I've always wanted some of their models (even back into whfb). I'm definitely starting with them but after that Idk.
>>66728066piss off fetishfag
>>66728148>You can ally in canon's now as mercs and convert the crew to be zombies YES

Starting a deepkin army, cautiously awaiting the new GHB/points changes
>>66728148All manner of shit occurs in the mortal realmsAs for those dudes specifically, prob not. But that's no excuse to not convert your own giant undead crab and count it as something.
>>66728232The ones I would do would be:>Carnosaur>IJ brutes>Arachnarok>Greatswords>Demigryph knights>Alarielle>Treelord/Durthu>Executioners>Drakespawn Knights>The eagle chariot from the mailmen that I can't remember how it's called>Chaos warriors>Grave Guard>Black knights>Dispossessed warriors>Longbeards
>>66728297Yeah, I'm thinking about doing it from the bottom up, that seems like the best path from easy to difficult to paint.
>>66728096We've got a lot of rotbros here but my first advice is to wait for the points changes coming in a week or two. There are also new rules and restrictions for 1000 point games coming too.https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/06/11/the-generals-handbook-2019-meeting-engagementsgw-homepage-post-2/The Lord of Afflictions and Pusgoyles are fast with his command ability but not many people use them because of their high point cost (which will hopefully be brought down) and the price of the models (two $65 kits).Nurgle units are deceptively slow at first glance. Blightkings for example have a Move of 4", but the musician in the unit let's you add 1 to run and charge rolls, the Gnarlmaw lets you charge even if you previously ran, and the Cycle of Corruption can give you an extra 2" of movement for all Nurgle units. Now their Move 4" asses can run 7+d6 inches and charge 1+2d6 right after. The Harbinger of Decay is a popular choice because his command ability allows units to ignore wounds and mortal wounds on a 5+.What models are you interested in?
>>66728258Those gaps, though. Nice theme but I can't help but think you were lazy with everything but the weapons which are just oddly made of ice.
>>66728271the gold looks great, how did you do it?
>>66728365Yeah, start with small infantry and go from there up to the big monsters.
What do your dudes remember of the age of myth?
>>66728418retributor armour with a green wash. It's actually going to be a more brass colour once it's done.
Besides battleline requirements, is there ever any reason to play Nighthaunt as a straight allegiance?
Phil Kelly just said on Warhammer TV that some Orruks believe in themselves or/and their weapons so much that they become potent enough to cut off Stormcasts from their connection for Azyr and perma-kill them. That's why some Orruks have Stormcast trophies. What's your opinion on this?
>>66728436>implying we forget anything
>>66728237Fetishposting has more substance than the game itself.
>>66728258>>66728296I like them (except for the gaps) but I think adding some frost to the scythe and candlestick may look cool.
>>66728464I'm fine with that
>>66728464I don't like stormcast and anything that gives them final death is OK.
I was wondering if anyone knew what model was used for this Gutter runner conversion at the top right. I thought it was clan rats, but I can't find that kusarigama style weapon anywhere.
>>66728258>look worse than warriors of the dead>far more expensive than warriors of the dead>can't even fit on 20mm bases if you want to use them for other gamesI don't like chainrasp.
>>66728493it's a normal dagger blade stuck on the end of club I tihnk
>>66728464orkish memetic magic has been a thing for a long time now and rule of cool is always preferable to consistencyespecially when it has the consistency of shit
>>66728493Anon, that weapon itself is a conversion.
>>66728464This is only capable for Bonesplitterz the chosen Orruk race.Waaaaagh magic buff! Fuck stormies!
>>66728377I love the GUO, blightlings and the lord of blights, lord of plagues, gutrot spume and all daemons really.Just kind of clueless on what to start with.
>>66728401>>66728476Yeah I know, going for a 20 unit of rasp I just desperately wanted to get a start on my spook armyGetting liquid green stuff for the kit mext time, etb is a meme and seeing as a lot of units are etb I've learned my lesson.Gonna do some wetblending and make stuff like grimghasts more detailedThanks for the feedback though, will keep it in mind
>>66728464How can you not love such awesome race? Give our both armies more love GW they will sell like hot cakes ans you know it. Just a little more model variety
>>66728296Sad that the NH tome didn't give Cairn Wraiths a useful role to fill in the roster.
>>66728464Orcs believing things into happening is always great. I just wish they hadn't squatted regular orcs.
>>66728600Pal gave it to me along with a tomb banshee and 3 spirit hosts so just painted it for fun
>>66728547Actually, Phil was speaking about the Ironjaws when he said that. Today is their army focus on Warhammer TV. Currectly Phil Kelly is playing against Gav Thorpe. Ironjaws vs Fyreslayers.https://www.twitch.tv/warhammer
>>66728464>Orcs can affect reality just by pure beliefWhat's the limit on that? Orc shamans that use waagh are stronger at magic than Tzeentch shitters or Stormcasts?
>>66728613That's fair. It was my favorite model in WHFB so I'm happy they made the NH faction. I', just sad the model doesn't see any play outside the niche of needing to fill exactly 60 points as it is the weakest hero in their roster.I'm happy that you're showing pictures of your models though, so please post more.
>>66728513Oh, you're right. I was completely distracted by the rest of the greenstuff, I didn't even notice the top of the weapon that was clearly chopped off. Thank you and forgive me.
>>66728634The Bonesplittas battletome has an Orruk shaman beating a Slaan in a magic duel.
>>66728600They are dirt cheap, so you can use it to spread dethless minions, but yeah, Nighthaunt relies a lot on heroes and it's a very contested position, they could have had something to make them more appealing. Maybe buff or be buffed by reapers.
>>66728066Would she buy you Chipotle to make it extra bloody?
>>66728464>Phil "hackjob" Kelly just rehashed 40k lore for AoS because he's just that creatively bankruptMy opinion is that it's precisely what I expected of him.
>>66728726The orc meme has been a thing since forever, even in AoS.
Should nurglings be battleline?
>>66728671>beatinghead canon doesnt count
>>66728764swarms should never be battleline unless their minimal unit size is way bigger
>>66728764I'd love it if they were, but honestly, Nurgle is so spoilt for Battleline that it wouldn't make much of a difference.
>>66728659Don't have a lot of pics on hand ad I've mostly painted underworld warbands, but here's the test model for my KO, put the project on hold due to their rules being demotivating
>>66728778What do you mean?
>>66728464>orruks are now 40kWhatever.Can they believe hard enough to get a book soon?
>>66728779GW repacks them so the min size is 6 bases of nurglingsWhat then?
>>66728816His new favorite phrase when he wants to know what you're on about but doesn't want to beg for you to spoonfeed him the source.
>>66728800>Nurgle is so spoilt for Battleline>Blightkings>Pusgoyles>PlaguebearersI mean sure there's StD but that adds like 2 battleline units? Compare with khorne and tzeentch . . .
>>66728764Still weak. They need point reduction.
>>66728499its hilarious that you can technically buy a soul wars box 25% off online then sell it all separately on ebay and get the chainrasp out of each box for what is essentially free. All because GW made the most retarded decision in selling a core battleline unit for a starter army at £25 for 10 snap-fit models. If they had been a reasonable £25 for 20 or something then I think they would have made the range a lot more successful than what it has been.
>>66728816there is no evidence to suggest that he is beating the slann in a magical duel
>>66728846But it's in the battletome.
>>66728822Then they'd be 200 points a unit and thereby worthless to take because the reason you take them is because they're a very low investment that can pop up behind enemy lines and forces the opponent to decide between letting them generate oodles of Contagion Points or dedicating resources to remove them. But for 200 it'd be cheaper to just grab some more Blightkings.
>>66728834Kings and bearers are so good there's no point in taking anything else.
>>66728834I mean, >fast mass infantry>slow mass infantry>medium infantry taken in super small units>heavy infantry>shock cavalryThat is pretty much everything you could want for Battleline. And that's ignoring Tamurkhan's Horde which locks your Trait and Artefact but gives you Plague Ogres as Battleline.
>>66728819We should all orruk fans converge in the sole idea of have a real release or at least an update tome+hero. Maybe with enough faith will happen in the end
>>66728884I just want my boyz and the warboss back.
>>66728902Honestly though. There is no point in orks without boyz and a warboss.
>>66728853no it isnttheres a story about a bonesplitterz army fighting seraphon but it doesnt have a magical duel
>>66728846you know there's a narrative attached to the picture in the book, right?
>>66728464kinda based nglfuck stormies
>>66728148I mean, nothing stops you from making them up for Mortal Realms. Also https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/09/21/the-armies-of-firestorm-the-wraith-fleet-sep21gw-homepage-post-4/
>>66728740Not in AoS actually. It's far bigger thing in 40k than it was in WFB and wasn't prominent in AoS at all. Phil Kelly is just bad.
>>66729035There's something very big standing in the way: A lack of models. Severe lack of ship giants and giant crabs, even a lack of kits you could use for them.
Just finished this stormcast eternal army. First army I ever painted. Can't wait to play them.
>>66729058Actually, you should read any Orruk battletome. The Waaaagh! magic warps reality around. It makes even mountains get up and march with the Orruks.
>>66728923reread the story anon
>>66729073Congratulations on finishing your first army anonGood luck in your games
>>66729073Based and sigmarpilled.Also>finished>flat monocolor basesThat's not finished.
>>66729073Nice. I can see a gap or two from where those blasted split shoulder pads didn't want to merge but aside from that, nice clean paintjob, doesn't clash and you didn't go overboard with the blood. The bases look weirdly non-uniform though or are you just not done with them?
Is this the right place to post a list and ask for advice ?
>>66729122Go ahead Anon!
>>66728846My mistake. It fro, the Ironjaws battletome.>Seeing his boss’ predicament, Weirdnob Zzapdak stumbled forward, unleashing the power of the Waaagh! in a wave of green, sorcerous energy. Zectoka reached out with his mind and tried to unravel the spell. What should have been as easy as sweeping away a spider’s web, however, was more like wading through a writhing pit of worms. Although his opponent was undisciplined, the sheer power the Weirdnob was wielding almost overwhelmed the Starmaster, and the slann had to redouble his efforts.----------
>>66729090Low quality but far better than actually discussing the game.
Lord of plaguesLord of blightsPoxbringer, herald of nurgle5x Putrid blightkings5x Putrid blightkings20x Plaguebearers960/1000I havent looked into artifacts and such yet, but does this seem like an okay 1k start?Input would be greatly appreciated
>>66729073Pretty good but finish the bases.
>>66729073>collects stormcast>didnt paint them gold
>>66729154>>Though he was locked in sorcerous combat, the slann turned a part of his mind to the Megaboss. Blinding white lightning leapt from Zectoka’s palanquin, the bolts of energy arching into the Megaboss and his boys. For a moment, Zogbak’s armour danced with blue and silver sparks. Smoke coiling from his mouth and eyes, Zogbak roared. In answer to the yell, those Brutes still standing let out a skull-bursting bellow of their own, and redoubled their assault. Before the onslaught, dozens of Saurus Guard were destroyed, their bodies punched apart or stomped into the ground. Upon his throne, Zectoka was rudely slapped back into reality, his concentration broken. Zzapdak suddenly found all resistance gone, and like a river bursting through a shattered dam, the power of the Waaagh! was released. A huge green fist erupted from the Weirdnob’s mouth, arcing over the fray to come plunging down in the middle of the battle, obliterating hundreds of seraphon. Unfortunately it also finished off the bridge, and with a final crack, the span broke, hurling the combatants in all directions. The slann fled into the ether with a flash, while Zogbak lunged for the ground on the far side. As the two sections of the oak sagged and finally fell into the chasm, the Megaboss found himself with a handful of boys and gruntas on one side, with the rest of his army stuck on the other side. With a dismissive grunt, Zogbak turned toward the unspoilt lands ahead, and set off with his boys to find
>>66729154he didnt "beat" that slann in a magical duel, he just forced him to stop hiding his power level
>>66728553The GUO is best used as a support hero with bell and dagger. His melee prowess with sword or flail is pretty terrible.Blightkings can be really great in units of 5 or 10 but their ability to generate extra attacks can be countered by any penalty to hit because the wording on their warscroll requires 6+, instead of an *unmodified* 6+. The Lord of Blights and Plagues are decent and Blight Cyst sees some use because of the rend on Blightkings but against armies like Nighthaunt it would be wasted.Gutrot can be fun but keep in mind he and his unit have to be placed at the end of your *first* movement phase and most opponents will make sure there isn't space to place him on their end of the table.Plaguebearers can be a good objective holder in units of 30 because of their Disgustingly Resilient, icon, and Cloud of Flies but their offensive power is awful. Combine them with the Lord of Blights' command ability to make them -4 to-hit in shooting, -2 in combat.Plague Drones are popular because of their locus that gives them additional attacks when near a Daemon hero. You can stack with with the GUO's command ability to give them even more attacks.Nurglings and Beasts are expensive for what they do and I haven't seen either of them used.I think it would be tricky to fit a GUO in a 1,000 point list because of his cost.
>>66729157It's a perfectly fine starting list. I would prefer Plague Drones instead of the Plaguebearers and a Sorcerer instead of the Poxbringer, but that mostly comes down to taste.
>>66729116Yeah gonna do some more work on the bases, but at least it's battle ready
>>66729168>fight a duel with some shitskin nobody>have time to zap his boss>bridge underneath you breaks >you just teleport away>enemy falls to his death like a pussalpha as fuck
>>66728553Start with either of the Start Collecting boxes and go from there. Neither of the boxes has a dud.
>>66729125Okay, here i goThe plan is to use one unit of Protectors to protect my artillery and Castigators. My castigators are meant to buff one of my balistas and shoot the enemy from afar. The sequitors are there to bind enemies and take objectives, as is the second protector unit. The HQ`s are meant to buff and support my other units.I use two helstorm rockets because i still have them from ye old times and want to use them, but i am unsure whether 4 artillery units are to much and if only minimal squad sizes( aside from the castigators) are a good idea to run....6e or 7e was the last time i playd fantasy, so i am pretty much a beginner again.
>>66729204Thanks for the reply anon, I read up on some warscrolls and posted it >>66729157I'll wait untill im done with my spook 1k before I dive in so I'll be able to see what happens point wise before I buy into anythingI'm unsure if I should potentially have the blight king unit in 5s or 10s with the lord of blights giving them the deaths heads but yeah, GUO would be more realistic for 1.5k+ I'd guess>>66729211Not big on the flies myself sadly
>>66729157I would drop either the LoP for a Sorcerer and command point at 940, or drop both LoP and LoB for a Harbinger of Decay to protect your Blightkings. Also Grandfather's Blessing and Witherstave are excellent choices. I'd keep the Poxbringer because only a daemon hero can take the Witherstave.Either way I'd wait a week or two for the GHB changes before committing to any purchases larger than a box of Blightkings.
>>66729120Thanks anon, I'll go back to the bases later. At least I can play them now. Gotta get some more supplies. >>66729120-OP

What do you think of Chaos Marauders compared to Chaos Warriors as Battleline in a Slaanesh aligned Slaves to Darkness Army?
have default orcs and goblins been squated? They are no longer purchasable, they have no allegiance, no nothing. It appears ogres will get the next destruction update. Have they gone the way of the tomb king? They might nto even have point values in the 2019 general's handbook.

>>66729530A ship without a mast or crow's nest.

>>66729531Wait for a new kit/rules. It's bound to happen.
>>66729610It has. This is from a month ago.
>>66729531Marauder models are pretty terrible. Unless you plan to convert them from Kairic Acolytes with Hellstrider heads go with Warriors.
>>66729676They are also pretty terrible and both gonna be updated this summer, so just wait until then.
>>66729433Alright thanks for the reply anon, I really like the plaguebearers and the herald daemons so I'll see what happens
>>66728677In the lore they're horrifying executioners and assassins.Anything related to bravery debuffs, BS tests or just auras could be neat, but instead you're just using the vastly superior Vampires/KoS/NamedCharacter/GoS/Jailor/Briarqueen/Harrow instead. All of the aforementioned have actual roles, ranging from objective grabbers, harassment, aurobots or just spellcasters. The hero slots are hotly contested and the Executioner, Tomb Banshee and Cairn wraith are the worst of the lot by way of not really paying back their own points cost most of the time unlike the others. The Executioner were even nerfed outside the Soul Wars box which is a very interesting move for a model that sees little to no play.
>>66728842>a core battleline unit for a starter army at £25 for 10 snap-fit models. This pisses me off to no end and I agree with you.Buying it at 25% off and selling it piece by piece to people looking to get into the army and only wanting the special characters or SCE models could be lucrative.
>>66729792At least executioners have something they are good at, albeit specific. They are hero tanks, so they can be used to stop scary heroes for a turn or two.
Ehy guys, my friends as a belated birthday present got me Volturnos and the Idoneth's Start Collecting. How should I equip the Eels and the Akhelian King?
Guy who ordered brets on eBay a few threads ago.Fuck yea can't wait to dig into this and the other goodies I got. Was thinking of going for a Templar/ George and the dragon theme with some Arthurian legends stuff aswell seeing that's what Brets are. What do you think lads?
>>66729850That is objectively true yes, and their 5++ MW save is also very nice.Having his own battalion is also actually cool, but all the more general heroes are just that much better. I can see why they nerfed him for the sake of keeping things streamlined, but he really didn't need it as far as I understand as he is generally underperforming in my personal experience. That being said the Tomb Banshee also have a specific point where she is good in Bravery bomb lists (which doesn't exist in NH) but the cairn wraith doesn't have anything like that. And that is where my gripe lies, one of the cooler and simple models, the face of NH, doesn't have a role in the NH list. (His battalion is also bad as it requires other obsolete models like the Glaive wraith.)
>>66729918I miss the cool art on the model kits
>>66729667ah, the COPE art
>the only painted models I have are ones other people painted in trades >full ghost army >full sylvaneth army >like having my own painted shit >have no motivation to actually get sit done >have no desire to actually get shit done >accepting I'll never paint feels better than stressing over not doing it >neither is a healthy attitude Fucking depression is shit. What's worse is there are major signs of adhd as well, but I haven't been to a doctor in 15+ years. Sorry for the blog. I'm just venting because I was telling myself that contrast would help, but I know better. Pls send ICBM
>>66730001a bloo bloo stop being a faggot
>>66730001Honestly, actually sitting down, painting a model and seeing that what I'm capable of is actually not half bad really helped me with my depression. Maybe you'll just need to try it. Or maybe you'll do just fine playing with models other people painted so long as you actually get out of the house and play.
>>66730001lad you can do it. it's gonna fucking suck but just paint the base coat of one colour on one unit of soldiers a nightput some youtube or a movie or a podcast on and just do lad, you can do it.Depression fucking sucks and it took me forever to get my army done but now that it's all behind me and i can look at a fully painted army that will be here for the rest of my life is worth the struggle. What army do you want to paint?

>>66730154>you're not depressed, just worthlessYou're not worthlessJust worth less.
>>66729823well its a lot of work but its worth doing just because of the obscene price of the chainrasps currently. I wouldn't bother doing it more than once or twice, only as a way of getting discounted chainrasps.

>>66730076I really hate using models as proxies so definitely gonna run them as Brets. Also the whole FEC being brets meme thing irks me for some reason. >>66730203yeah what a bunch of assholes for not caring about some random anonymous person whining on the internet about his sadbrain problems!!

>>66730249Thank you for proving my point.
Do I start Tzeentch or Sylvaneth, /aosg/?
You know I was getting kind of scared that the STD models would be updated right after I bought the start collecting! box. But now I'm not too upset, I've always wanted some of those classic warriors of chaos models and I'm fairly content with them right now. Just throwing it out there. It's a little annoying that I'm trying to determine which units to buy and paint when an update could be right around the corner.
>>66729897points and stuff might bounce around a bit next week
>>66730299You play khorne instead because you're not a bitch nigga who needs magic.
>>66730001>>66730001same desu. had depression for about 10 years now.I'll break the curse eventually and paint all my minis within a year. Just been stuck like this for years now due to health issues. Gotta endure the bad times to get to the good ones no matter how long it takes.
>>66730299sylvaneth, tzeentch could be a while
>>66730001Wait how do you not have a fully painted ghost army? White spray paint, use leadbelcher on all the metal bits, then wash with Nighthaunt, finally drybrush with some type of grey. Not great, but pretty decent, and you can get it done in an afternoon.
>>66729073Good job.Now do the bases.
>>66730260theres no quick fixes. being able to talk about it online/IRL is a step towards recovery.>>66730181yeah being addicted to various substances/bad habits is a coping mechanism. If you want to stop being clincally depressed (not just lmao im sad) then you have to ween yourself off them one at a time.
>>66730313I think anything that isn't in the Battleforce or the Start Collecting Box will get a update, or is at least possible to get a update. So Chosen, Marauders and Heroes. Plus they will also most likely get the 3 Endless Spells and Scenery piece that every new release gets. I just hope that Marauders get options for all the gods as well as godless.
>>66729923>she is good in Bravery bomb lists (which doesn't exist in NH)Yeah, that's why I didn't mention her. Seems rather silly. IMO the allegiance ability should stack, at least a couple of times for a -3 or something. Right now even StD can make better brabery bombs.
>>66730299Start Tzeentch and /fitlit/ for chaos.
>>66729966You are ignoring evidence and I'm the one coping?
>>66730044I do get out and play at least once a week. AoS, Underworlds, Kill team, Munda, 30k soon, and others like commander and WMH. I completely stopeod 40k because it's pure cancer atm. However, I am a shitty opponent despite my trying to be better, so I often pass games off to other people. >>66730052That's what I usually do when I do paint, but since getting my airbrush, I really can't anymore. However, that's more an excuse. I've painted fewer than 20 models since getting my brush 7 months ago, and probably painted about the same in the year prior to that. I need to finish my Sisters, which are my first army started 14 years ago and never finished), my new Sylvaneth stuff from Looncurse and a few more, some ghosts (the latter two I want to strip and do myself), my munda team, my kill teams, my 30k army, and all my Underworlds teams. >>66730181They're fully painted except for new stuff that I got and haven't assembled. Well, 2k of ghosts are painted at least. I just wasn't the one who painted them. >>667303582k is fully painted. I said I HAD a fully painted. I just wasn't the one who did it.
>>66730001Fuck off coward faggot
>>66729531I think they are all trash because you want stuff with Hedonite keyword.
>>66730313I mean if you like them, pick them up without worries. But for the ones that already have like 40 of them and want something more up to date, the new models are gonna be a godsend.specially since you lucky nurglite bastards have great models
This is my Executioner. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
>>66728173They are fairly competitive. Harkon is dead but that doesn't mean there are no vampire pirates
>>66730484But that's not Slaves to Darkness.
Some kunnin' Orrucks made off with some of YOUR DUDE'S treasure. What did they steal and how do YOUR DUDES get it back?I miss em lads. Greenskinz deserved better if Ardboys aren't getting horde discounts.
>>66729244Castigators suck balls. Literally any other sce unit is better. You can take them for Hailstorm or you can simply take more ballistas or raptors instead.Ballistas are strictly better than hellstorms, but if it's about model availability then whatever. There is no point for protectors here. Sequitors are good enough screen, ballistats don't need additional protection from ranged, just park them into terrain.Take evocators or just big sequitors for melee punch. What's your stormhost? That impacts list building a lot.
>>66730559Kick der teef in and let 'em know who's da bossStupid gitz thinkin' they could steal some of the best scrap from us Ironjawz
>>66730604The Soulstrike Brotherhood isn't bad for 1-1.5k games where you can only take 2 ballistas if you're going for that. +1 attack is handy and giving two blobs of castigators +1 attack for a turn makes them a bit more appealing. What makes you think they're bad? I think purchasing them is a meme given they're just in a ETB kit and an OOP starter box.
So my friends and I have decided to make homemade rules (I know there was another word for that but i can't remember) for some kind of "KIng of the Giants" with which Gargants would be battleline.I come here looking for what rules Command Ability would he have, what do you think?
>>66730630In 1500pt games you can take 4 ballista>What makes you think they're bad? Math and experience
>>66730542Well, in StD marauders are better. Their warscroll is just better.
>>66730669Finally another bro with Excel experience.People got mad when I made something slightly similar with NH units.
would Start Collecting Skelletons go well with tempest of souls nighthaunt under legions keyword?
>>66730658>Post-Hangover drinkingUse this command ability in your hero phase. This hero makes a toast to battle and invite everyone to drink again, which usually make everyone just more violent and inconsiderate. Until your next hero phase, all GARGANTS wholly withing 12" of this hero can reroll one dice every phase.
>>66730855I actually like that effect, thanks!
>>66730669You sure? In my store they play 1.5k as 1k + 500, not 2k - 500. To be fair, they're probably even with Judicators and you have to consider their synergies, battalions, etc. -2 rend has it's uses and so does something like the soulstrike battalion. Mathhammer is a meme, but oof on those averages.
>>66730765Tempest of souls does nothing for NH legions, you want bricks of grimghasts.SC skeletons can be used in NH legions. Arkhan is good, skeletons can be battleline filler (wolves are better though), ponies can be ghost ponies.
>>66730887The main issue with them vs. judicators is judicators being battleline. If castigators were battleline even with some specific hero that would be a big boost for their usability.
>>66730887>You sure?Thats the way the rules are written in the GHB. You can play however you want, though. They are about even with bow Judicators but that's not a good thing - Judicators are a shit unit, only used because they can fill a battleline slot and have 24" range. If you want Rend-2 shooting just take ballistas or LongstrikesSoul Strike is a good battalion but there are better stormcast lists that do the same thing, like Anvilstrike
>>66730658>sons of behemat battalion from the godbeasts campaign book as an allegiance abilityAny of these mercs bonuses for gargants: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/06/10/the-generals-handbook-2019-mercenary-companiesgw-homepage-post-2/My store let me use Behemat at 120pts battalion price for matched play, then I just went with Gitmob Grots as battleline. Thinking of switching to Gloomspite now though. I just get the core book stuff for command abilities, traits, etc, but they're stifflers for no narrative so even getting this much was a blessing.
>>66730482>I do get out and play at least once a week. AoS, Underworlds, Kill team, Munda, 30k soon, and others like commander and WMH. I completely stopeod 40k because it's pure cancer atm. So is the Maneater merc company actually any good? I kinda want to run them along with my freeguild, but I'm wondering if the points could be better spent elsewhere

>>66731677Well as I've said. I have depression. Real depression as diagnosed by a doctor, which is also a pretty good sign of depression.
>>66728038Here are some but I need to do more daemons.
>>66733383Psychology is only one step above astrology as a science. Once step above because they have a single method that actually works, prescription drugs. But these drugs aren't any better than what junkies shoot up in the dark alleys, they fuck up your personality all the same and cause addiction. The grim reality that weak-willed pussies don't want to hear is that you can only heal your psychological issues by yourself, and no one can help you because your mind is not an organ an actual doctor can cut open with a scalpel to remove the infection. Once I realised that depression is stupid and that I don't want to have it any more, I stopped having it, and have been going strong for many years. No shrink with his drugs could do that.
>>66733473Expect to get a lot of angry (You)s my man.As a recovering person from depression I can see myself in your words. That being said, every person is different and what works for one is alien to another and most people don't want to hear that you can just kinda 'stop' being depressed by breaking bad thinking habits and depreciation cycles.

Okay, so we all know a lot of GW design parodies and takes inspiration from other media and pop culture (especially 80s) rambo catachan, starwars droid lookin tau, terminator necrons, xenomorph inspired khorne daemons etcI'm wondering where they got the inspo for Tzeench stuff, can someone fill me in? >>66733678Oh right, thanks. So, do you think they're nice spells?
>>66733697A few of them are very useful, some of them are very bad and a few of them have powerful but niche applications.
>>66733473>>66733573>>66733579Psychological "science" does have a lot (a lot!) of holes, but I'm betting dollars to donuts you bootstrapping keyboard warriors confused a mild case of the Mondays with being capital D Depressed
>>66733670I can only tell you that the name "Tzeentch" was an onomatopoeia for a spell going off from some 2000 AD comic.
>>66733734I was clinically treated for depression at one point (waste of money), so I think not.
>>66733473>your mind is not an organYour mind is literally your brain. Depression? That's hormonal imbalance, not some magical mind-trick. And yes, the drugs are primitive as fuck, what the hell do you expect after less than a 100 years of development? Fucking not an organ, I guess for a himbo like you it's not.
>>66733670According to Tony Ackland (the guy who designed EVERY Chaos Daemon and doesn't get nearly enough credit), Lovecraft. You can see it especially clearly in his original design for the Flamers, which is very different to the current design and depicts pretty much an upside down sentient mushroom jumping around on its cap. Tzeentch daemons were also referred to as 'fungal' in the early materials such as Realm of Chaos. So here's one more thing beside the grinning moons that Tzeentch and GSG have in common.
>>66733786The human thought process is so strange and complex that it's unlikely to be understood even after the invention of quantum supercomputers. In fact, it will probably never be understood at all, because modelling a quantum system of such size is significantly more difficult than accurately modelling the entire Universe.

>>66734005Wait for the nerf. The book is shit.
>>66734005The Slaanesh summoning is OP to be honest. It's a much, much stronger version of the Khorne summoning. That's the only real issue; they just need to increase the depravity costs.
>>66734014I don't really feel like waiting for a year.
>>66733670You know how GW broke into the miniature making business by making miniatures for D&D? Well, one of the most iconic demons in D&D is called Vrock. Google it. Doesn't it remind you of something?
>>66734036Then wait for a week.
>>66734041>>66733833very cool! thanks for the info
>>66734059They aren't getting adjusted in this GHB. The current GHB was at the printers at the same time as the Slaanesh book. It'll be a year before they get touched,
>>66734027Its not even the summoning that's fucking me. Its the fact that he can charge 30 Bestigors across the table that delete basically any unit in the game that isn't fully buffed Hearthguard Berserkers and he's also charging a keeper and exalted chariot at the same time.
>>66734005Their only real weakness is cheap 1 wound tarpits and strong shooting, got any of that?
Between always loving fulminators, seeing a female SCE mini upclose (they have very pretty masks) and this basing style. What are the best mounted options? best battleline tax modelsHow good are star drakes on the table?
>>66734128Tzeentch does have both tzaangor and acolytes for 1 wound infantry and with their magic and skyfires they are more than capable of shooting things to death.
>>66734128Not that guy the 1 wound tarpit thing is unbelievably wrong. Sure they don't get depravity but good Slaanesh players have tools that kill one wound tarpits like they don't exist.
>>66734147You're not getting anything except for Lord of Change spells through against Slaanesh. Between the Epitome and the Enrapturess they have a lot of magic defense.
>>66734151The point is to use them as a speed bump. Slaanesh doesn’t get much if any shooting and as fast as they are it’s very rare for any of them to fly.Throw up a cheap wall to force them to charge it and then they’ll be left sitting there, waiting for the counter attack. Unless they get the double turn...
>>66734216Or they take a Keeper with Thermal Cloak specifically to counter act that weakness and use Bestigors or Ungors to clear your screen. I assume you've basically just read 'how to beat Slaanesh' and haven't actually seen the kind of lists they're running?
>>66734140Lol just play DoK - they're already all-female and have a Greek myth theme to them

>>66734140>How good are star drakes on the table?LC on a Stardrake in Won't Die Mode can be something goodLiberators are the cheapest filler and pad unit count. Mounts, you've got loads of options, you out cavalry armies that are actually about cavalry
>>66734140It will take lots of work, but you're in luck. Sequitors are the shit, and a box of 10 comes with I believe 4 (at least 3) female models. The lord arcanum on dracoline general to unlock them as battleline has a female option (astreia solbright, who sucks, but just run her as a lord-arcanum on dracoline).Ballistae have one of the two engineers as a female (though no lord-ord female option).Evocators have 2 female per 5 on foot (though they're the best paladin by far, they're slow and often skipped)Evocators on dracolines have 1 female per 3 (expensive but in sce you often need the speed over pure damage of foot-evos)knight-incantor is female. So, the baseline is available, though piecemail and expensive, and you'll need to build your own other stuff whatever else you'll run. there's also 1 female in both of the shadespire warbands and there's neave blacktalon which are all bad but can be used for parts.stardrake has strong defense with a castellant buffing him, but most of its damage comes from eating troop models alive and reflected mortal wounds from passing saves, and not from a great attack profile. It's not bad, just beware instant death effects like hand of dust. I consider a castellant required in sce, so you'll need to convert one out of maybe an evocator on foot or something.
>>66734302Thanks mate! I just followed Vince Venturella's tutorial for the skin, but using Vallejo Blue Ink for the base colour to make the blue more saturated. My Tzaangor Shaman progress pic (that I posted above already) uses wet blending rather than glazing, and I think I actually got better results for the skin with this alternate method.

>>66735478I dont play tzeentch but from waht I can tell by my time reading the warscrolls and such, I would say put your tzaangors around your summoner and make him your general. I think the list would do you good. You just have to know how to play tzeentch well. Also, pirate the tzeentch battletome from the megas above if you havent already. Keep in mind wether or not you win depends on how good you are at playing an army and strategy. Also how lucky you are, lol.
>>66735483Not really; Enlightened on foot are cheaper (100 pts vs. 140), but the discs give you so much that they're easily worth the extra 40. Unless the points gap greatly increases in the GHB, discs all the way.
>>66735312I have no idea about the Death stuff sorry. But you can't go wrong with the maggotkin if you like them.
>>66735312who knows, new "tomb kings" soon
>>66736005tomb kings are comin soon? proof?
>>66728102Siiiiiick Bloodbound you got there
God fucking damn it. I'm fucking dying to see something! anything! PLS. If they really think that all the warcry and underworld shit compensates for the lack of any new faction or faction update they are fucking wrong.AoS Open Day better be fucking good. And they better not show some fucking teaser of who the fuck is the ancient evil 'cause I'll set the fucking place on fire.
>>66736110if we're lucky we'll get some ogre, deepkin and wanderer endless spells and that's it.
>>66732871Yeah I might add some grass to the herdstone for sure, good idea.As far as the Minos, I thought about doing them the same colour as the rest of the gors, but I figured I'd try and differentiate them from the rest by giving them a unique skin colour, same with all the warherd I have. I agree though they look kinda like buff naked dudes running around.
>>66736339Buff naked dudes running around; and why thats a good thing
>>66735483Skyfires can only be on disks, and enlightened are straight up better on them.
Looking to start building a nurgle list, and would like some advice on whether or not the units I have in mind are traps, and also units I've overlooked.I want a lord of afflictions as my general to make the pusgoyle blight lords battleline, and I want several units of blightkings, because nobody in my local meta runs any to hit penalties. I also like the GUO (or rotigus, which is better?), the glottkin, and plague drones. The main thing intimidating me is the massive hero selection. Can I get some help narrowing my choices down?
Firebelly merc for a Legion of Nagash army converted/proxied as an oni, thoughts? What about a small LoN army that's based on Chinese/Korean/Japanese folklore with undead soldiers and undead spirits?
Does Gaunt summoner on disc have rules? I tried looking it up and it brought me into 1d4chan and there was only footslogging version shown.I just asked my lgs to order the disc one for me and im wondering if i should cancel that and order a shaman instead or maybe just the walking boy
>>66736242sounds more like a case of if we're unlucky desu senpai
>>66736639yeah it does. I just foubd it in the app. not sure what book its in.But it should be on the GW page, in the downloafs section of the kits page.
>>66736893no, unlucky would be getting literally nothing
>>66736911I also just checked the app and he's listed as everchosen when he's on the disc, is he still able to be hq in a DoT army, confusing because vanilla gaunt summon is listed as both
>>66736971you'll have to check the book. I guess try and see if the warscroll builder lets you.
>>66736971He can still be used as he has the tzeentch key just like the old StD stuff that isn't in the book.
>>66736435I'd like to go into detail next thread when I get the chance but I'll quickly recommend a Harbinger of Decay, Sorcerer, and Poxbringer. The Harbinger uses his command ability to give your Blightkings Disgustingly Resilient and the wizards are both cheap at 120 points. The Glottkin are used to great effect in a unit of 40 Marauders to effectively give them 80 wounds.I don't know much about Rotigus but the other units have been discussed a bit in the thread here.>>66728377>>66729204>>66729433
>>66736435GUO > Rotigus, though he's nice as your third big boy in a thricefold befoulment. For GUO casting dagger and bell always. While pusgoyle blightlords are generally seen as too expensive, I'd be surprised if they didn't come down a bit in the ghb. They would work better in a unit of 4 that you load up with buffs than as a bunch of battleline in the apocalypse now battalion, sadly.Glottkin is expensive in an army where everything's already pricey and he doesn't have DR so too fragile imo. Plague Drones are currently superior to PGBs just because they're much cheaper (per model) and absorb the same buffs, but don't look nearly as cool (and lack the mortal keyword).GW has helped you greatly with the huge hero selection by making almost all of them too expensive. Though if you're going in on blightkings, captain gutrot D. spume is a fine choice. Harbinger of decay (sometimes taken) and lord of blights (more often taken) have strong defensive command abilities. People generally take another caster of some sort like festus just because your spells are so useful.lord of afflictions is a boss.
>>66737286this is all correct, I just tailored my answers to him already being set on blightkings (so not glot+marked std or poxbringer + plaguebearers)
Hey anons, Im from that other thread you hate, wondering if anyone can post some Skaven rat ogres as I’d love to see some basing ideas/embellishments as inspiration, pic is some rats guys I’m working on . Should I make the scars on the ones back bleed? Or glow likewise warpstone, I’m almost tempted to add blood to these but it’s a very slippery path>>66728038
>>66729073Really nice, gj!
>>66737592this thread has run its course, better luck next thread
How lore rape would it be to have beastclaw raiders dedicated to chaos? Maybe even dedicated to a specific god?
>>66737592Its ultimatly up to you. What is your planned aesthetic? I recomend make them look like fresh wounds, but then paint over that to make it look like glowing warpstone. will make it look like he was stuffed with warpstone.
>>66737963I wouldn't put it past any of them to turn to chaos as a way to escape the Everwinter. Or you could just say they're chaos-aligned ogres who happen to use giant monsters.
>>66737592I have a couple for my bloodbowl team that use some bits from warmachine. On the blood idea, I personally would go with scar tissue but a couple layers of blood could give a good gore look.
>>66737963not at all
My slann is 90% done hopefully I'll have my list done by next week
Any updates on forbidden power in the mega?
>>66738235Those ones still worship gorkamorka in secret
Just moved to a new city due to a new job and now I don't have friends or a FLGS to play at.Motivations to paint is kill.Send help /aosg/.
>>66734810I just gave his video a try, and this was also my first attempt at blending. The model looks like trash because I put it together with a flip knife and super glue while on a deployment.
>>66738635Country anon here, I drive an hour to get to the nearest flgs and still manage to make it every other weekend or so. Look around and find a store that hosts semi regular events. Attend those events a few times and eventually you will be familiar enough with some of the regulars to make some friends

Since there's no WIP thread:After shading my mini ended up glossy as all hell. This is after drying overnight. What are some ways to remedy this and turn the gloss down a notch?
>>66738856just give it a matte varnish and it will look great.
