Why do people who think Fergie is the GOAT over Pep simply ignore that Pep humiliated Fergie in not one, but two CL finals in a row?
those people exist? lmao
>>132089258Yup, they just say Pep is a checkbook manager and Fergie is better because he won a European cup with Aberdeen, when Pep winning the first sextuple in football history and creating the best club football team in history is much more impressive than what Fergie did at Aberdeen
>>132089244Pep has never built a team from scratch, he was handed the best Barcelona team in its prime a fucking monkey could have managed them and won everything. If pep wants to prove himself get him to win something with a shit team like arsenal or west ham.
>>132089244Did you even watch it, zoomer? He had the best team in the world, which won the World Cup, the Euros, and then again the Euros, without him. The only big difference between that Spanish team and the Barcelona one is that Barcelona had even more great players, including Messi. And Barcelona had won the Champions League just two or three years before Pep arrived too. Players like Puyol, Iniesta, Xavi, Messi were already destined for greatness. And then there is all the refball, which everyone who watched remembers.
don't care, clough clears both
>>132089768Also, if you take into account the teams Pep had, he actually underperformed.Didn't win a UCL with a very good Bayern team, and took so long to win a UCL with City despite receiving gigantic amounts of cash and violating every conceivable financial rule in England. England has had 3 big teams in the last decade: City, Liverpool, Chelsea. Of all the three, City took the longest to win a UCL.Ferguson on the other hand built two great teams. Once at Aberdeen, then once again at Man United, and he was able to actually sustain that greatness at United for more than 20 years, consistently. If you look at his finishes at the Premier League, what's really striking is that even when they didn't win the trophy, they almost always finished at very high positions, only one or two points below the champions, consistently for 20 years, all built by Sir Alex, with the backbone of the team being academy players for most of that period. Mourinho and Sir Alex proved they can do it against expectations. Guardiola has spent years struggling to fulfill expectations...
>>132089963I agree with you, although you have to admit that Pep does know how to build a great team.
Ynr Theo Snelders
If City win the treble, it will not only eclipse United's biggest achievement, it will expose Alex Ferguson as the biggest fraud in the history of football management.
>>132090018He has taken good teams and turned them into great ones, which is a major accomplishment, I agree. He also knows how to properly conduct a great team and keep it stable (which Mourinho, for instance, does not seem to be very good at doing).I consider him one of the best living managers, but I'd still put Ancelotti and Ferguson above him. Mourinho besides him, maybe. As for Zidane... He'd have to manage at least one other team for some period of time for me to judge.
>>132090469Ferguson built the team that won him the treble. There was money involved, but nothing close that what it's like today. Many of the players in that team came from the academy - Scholes, Neville, other Neville, Nick Butt, Giggs, Beckham. It was Ferguson who made them great -- and some of them like Neville never became great, but still played very reliably under him.Guardiola had his team bought for him by extremely rich Arabs. This doesn't take away his merits of managing it and making it all work out, but it's easier when you can basically pick any player you want and the Arabs will buy it for you, even if they have to violate more than a hundred financial regulations to do so.Look at pic related for a moment. This is the team that Ferguson took to the Champions League final in 2011...
>>132089244Why do people who prefer Pep fail to understand that he has never won a UCL without prime Messi?
>>132089244One had money and youth academy. The other none.
>>132089244PL bias
>>132089721even at city, emiratis planned since 2012 to have pep, their academies started to play possession football, they hired txiki in 2012 to prepare the ground for pep. he never really started from scratch.
>>132092248and now if he wins the CL, it's thanks to the next goatas people said here he is unable to win as the underdog
>>132092082>Many of the players in that team came from the academy - Scholes, Neville, other Neville, Nick Butt, Giggs, BeckhamIn your pic. Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Pique and Pedro came from the academy. Funny, When Ferguson has great academy products that's a sign of his great management but for Guardiola he got lucky.
Fergie would be exposed in VAR era
Pep Guardiola is a traitor, simple as
>>132092290Yeah, class of 92 wasn't a thing
>>132092248Fergie winning the CL twice in 28 years of managing the richest and most attractive club in the world makes him the GOAT, but Pep winning the CL twice, both times pipping Fergie in the final, and he can't do it without Messi?
>>132099592baldiola also had dr fuentes and the hgh manlet and his own experience of doping as a player.
>>132092082That man utd team is crap, but who can you really blame for that except Ferguson? He bought them.
>>132090469legitimate retard
>>132101045glazers wouldn't pony up for good players so he had to carry on with shit ones.but the glazers are fergie's doing anyway because of his horse spunk shenanigans.
>>132092082>Took to 2011 finalThey had arguably the easiest path ever
>>132101074Fergie never said a word against them though so fuck him, it was his doing as much as anyone's.
