Don't talk shit about Mt boy Eikinz. I follow him on strava because I live in the same city and want to see the type of rides to do in the area. I'm always impressed by the kind of weather he goes riding outside. I guess that's what you have to do if you want to live in Bergen and train, but I guarantee you he wouldn't have striked in the Giro

Something else for a change, here are two cycling songs by Alex Roeka:

One from the perspective of a rider in the RVV:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiZKXq0fVVQ&ab_channel=MattvanOosterhout

And one from the perspective of a domestique who suddenly finds a chance of actually being able to try for a win:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gd7H2taFhA&ab_channel=AlexRoeka-Topic

Both Dutch though, but I hope some other Dutch/Flemish people can enjoy it. Especially the second one is nice imo.

How bad have you been? «For three days I had a fever of 39 °, the temperature did not drop despite taking the tachipirina in the morning, after lunch and in the evening. I felt broken bones and all the classic symptoms of the flu, for a week I had no taste and smell, which I have not recovered 100% yet. For the smells I did the tests with alcohol, for the flavors with mustard. Now I begin to feel the sweetness of honey, but when I drink the coffee I still don't feel the taste it should have ».

How do you spend your days in quarantine? «I wake up late and eat late, play videogames and watch TV series. When the wi-fi doesn't work, I go out into the garden with the dog or start cooking, at the "hotel mamma" there is always something to learn ».

Allow us the joke, it has been a very positive year for you. “In every sense, really. As far as work is concerned, I cannot complain about anything, for the rest, as for everyone, it was a particular and difficult year. Those who deny the seriousness of this virus that is upsetting the world and still insists on not respecting the rules that will allow us to defeat it should try it on their own skin. How much I have won in this atypical season, including the Oscar tutto BICI as the best Italian Under 25, makes me proud but now I just want me and my loved ones to get back to health. Sport is important, but in life there are other priorities ».

Because the games is too easy and after a couple of years you're already a top rider, after 4 years you're maxed
They should make it harder to max your stats and add other game modes like lower potentials, harder gameplay, etc.
Right now the only way to do that is with a database edit and I think once we finish with Shimano I will make another game where I remove some potential so even when you're maxed you have the stats of a quality domestique instead of a grand champion
>>
>>103996634
This guy has so many of these fantastical stories and explanations that it smells so much. I'm not really keen to suggest or accuse of doping but it feels like they're a Floyd Landis away from bringing the whole British cycling + Sky down, or at least greatly damage its integrity.

In the case of Armstrong we were lucky to have such an aggressive WADA go after him; I get the feeling Sky going down would have so many ripple effects throughout the sport that there would be too many interests within cycling willing to turn a blind eye to the whole mess

Landuyt: "Now I would take 80-100 wasps and at the start of the training camp a minimum of 40 and maximum of 60 wasps. Then completely clean from 19/7. It has to be in the inner tube. Test with washing machine."

I think so too, Pidcock looks like he can become an elite climber/stage racer. I haven't seen much from Iserbyt on the road, but I think he's in his place with guys like Toon Aerts and Sweeck

Richie Porte maybe? He's had a great career with many gc and stage wins in WT races but never a stage win in a Grand Tour

Some names:
Guillaume Martin
Richie Porte
Aleksandr Vlasov
Wilco Kelderman
João Almeida
George Bennett
Florian Sénéchal
Giacomo Nizzolo
Stefan Küng
Benoît Cosnefroy
Tim Merlier
Patrick Konrad

Huh, I thought that my guy Richie won that 2013 Ax 3 Domaines finish only to do the reverse-Landis and lose 10 minutes the next day. Turns out he was 2nd after Sir Skeleton.
>>
>>104009505
Steven Kruijswijk too except for a TTT win in the TDF which is a bit of a grey area for counting

Aside from that his most major win is a stage in the Tour de Suisse (and overall win in Artic Race of Norway... yeah)
>>
>>104009743
2016 Giro

Stage 14:
1. Chaves 6:00:16
2. Kruijswijk ""

Stage 15 (ITT)
1. Foliforov 28:39
2. Kruijswijk "" (I believe he lost by half a second)

Stage 16:
1. Valverde 2:58:54
2. Kruijswijk ""

Poor Kruijswijk finished 2nd in the same time three times in a row. Obviously he was going for the overall win but just one win in those would've been supernice

I really like cycling in rural Finland. The only downside is that you gotta go north to have any climbing. Mosquito net is only required if you are bike packing and want to camp overnight. But glasses are required. And the mosquitoes get stuck in your downtube, and legs if you don't shave.

I've been looking at the bike market the past weeks because I'm bored, and I'm so happy I decided to just not care about money and buy an entry level rim brake aeroad 2 years ago. I honestly couldn't wish for another bike, because I dont think they will be any better. Even the super high end stuff, all they got extra is electric shifting and maybe 500 grams less, but then you pay 3 times what I paid. With climbing wheels my bike weighs 7.0kg which is just great desu.

Yeah, I always lube up. I use nivea cream on reasonably short rides, for longer rides and on holiday when I ride 6 hours every day I usually use assos which is better but also more expensive

If you don't you'll end up with chafing, sores, infections and all kind of other stuff you don't want
>>
>>104057177
It's a thing. Only ever used it a for a couple of longer rides myself. Very rarely do I ever ride more than 3 hours though. Also it's just one of those thing that differs from person to person. Some people can't look at a saddle without needing to lubed up - others will never have an issue. Give it a shot - especially if you've had issues with comfort in any way.

I used to not do it until I did my first 200km ride. I remember that evening I went to a hot spring with some friends and my ass/gooch was raw and it stung so much when I entered the pool. Ever since then I lube up if my ride is gonna be longer than 2 hours. I also recommend that Assos Chamois Creme.

>>
>>104057177
always do it in rides over 1h
Usually use the assos one because its the easiest to find here, but I've used a bunch and they all worked pretty good. Any very high fat cream works tbf. Putting it in the chamoix is better for longer rides, but just putting it on the skin is fine for 3-4h.
>>
Everyone wants to know what I’m on.
What am I on?
I’m on my bike, busting my ass 6 hours a day.
What are you on?
>>
>>104068012
My ass doesn't take well to putting the cream straight onto skin. I don't use any on rides shorter than 4 - 5 hours. Above that I might put very little into the chamoix.

Also I find it that if I use cream I have to take a shower immediately after a ride or I get guaranteed saddle sores. Without any cream my ass is much more lenient to hanging out in shorts after the ride.

QUIZ TIME. Expert edition.

It has only happened three times in history that a rider won a stage in all three Grand Tours in the same calendar year. One Spaniard in 1956, an Italian in 1958 and another Italian in 2003. Name them.

The other Italian had a son that was a sprinter in the nineties. The Spaniard won MSR twice and twenty Giro stages.

I want to do a bunch of gran fondos next year but I'm worrying they'll all be cancelled (again)

Anyone else do gran fondos or those kind of "challenges"?

No I prefer riding alone, the less people on the road the happier I am. Especially other cyclists, I cant stand them.
>>
ef giro jersey arrived
It's too damn small for me, fucking hell, this is for someone 10cm shorter than me
on the other hand I'm actually a bit impressed over what 17€ quality you can buy these days
>>
>>104115028
I'm like our Dutch friend, I really prefer to ride alone and don't want to pay to ride with other people.

The only advantage is the closed roads. Here for example there is the famous Bergen Voss which is quite nice but some part you have to go through quite dangerous tunnels so it would make sens in that case. But then again planning a 180km ride in Bergen months in advance sounds like you really want to ride in the rain
>>
>>104116155
Ah that sucks. Know any manlets you can pass it on to and buy a new one? Yeah it's... it's a perfectly competent jersey - I was surprised as well.
>>
>>104118326
yeah, my brother is about 7cm shorter so it could be fine, his bday is also coming up so I'll probably give him as a gift
>>
>>104107436
I wanted to say Chaves but he has a DNF in 2018 in Catalunya

hmmm
>>
Colombia (and Ecuador) should host more World Tour races

Business idea, another category between WT and continental races, let's call it pro tour for now

>WT
3 GT
5 Monuments
Top one week races like Tirreno and Nice
Top classics like Amstel and Strade

>PT
Low quality WT one week races like UAE and Pologne
Low quality WT classics like Bretagne and Frankfurt
Top continental one week races like Valenciana, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Burgos, etc.
Top continental classics like Paris-Tours, Milano-Torino, Giro dell'Emilia, Kuurne, etc.
Fun races from evey continent like Colombia, Japan, Rwanda, Herald Sun, Langkawi, California, Utah, etc.

>Continental
Everything else

So we don't have "weak" riders at the top of the WT ranking because they won the Tour of Guangxi and the London classic and at the same time we give visibility to much more races with the PT since right now no one cares about everything who isn't WT

>>104119800
Yeah not Chavito

>>104115858
It was an attack in the final part, the peloton wasn't very big so the chase was a bit weak and they had good legs

hehe what a hilarious concept, why would anyone even do that? ha ha

Could you tell me the age of the rider in question? I'm having a tough time
>>
>>104128417

>>
Would we rather see our boy Fabio Aru at Qhubeka Assos or Vini Zabu?
>>
>>104128853
The only interesting feature on that shitty website
>>
>>104128889
1. His last DNF is from 2015
2. His last DNS is recent, the previous one was in 2017
3. This season he was still good for the white jersey
4. He's in a WT team
>>
>>104130087
The route planner is pretty good.
>>
>>104130412
The only one I can think of that almost fits the bill is Giulio Ciccone, but he has a DNF in GP Denain 2017.
>>
No DNF in 5 years is outrageous. Big respect for this lad.

>>
Anybody looking forward to the CX weekend? We'll be seeing some road racers try their hand at CX in Pidcock (Ineos) and Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma)
>>
>>104132644
yeah i wonder how van aert will do at cyclocross.
good for him to try something new
>>
>>104132644
Pidcock is the world champion of e mountain bike, so maybe he has a chance against Van Aert
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUGNKwcbbDw
>>
>>104133498
Hmm, hopefully Cervelo also makes e-bikes
>>
>>104131631

pretty rude anon, I was wrecking my head
>>
>>104134396
It's still the record, I just messed up with the hint
>>
>>104134293
I'm still amazed Van Aert is riding a gravel bike for CX
>>
>>104134432
How can it be around 300 then if has a DNF in 2017?

actually I suppose it's not too far off, checking his races since roughly counting it's about 225
>>
>>104134835
whats the difference
>>
>>104134932
I heard about the record on GCN Italy so I trust it
Maybe not all the races are recorded?
