How did you study for ENEM, bro?I want to enroll in the same course, not in Rio tho (PE), any advice?
USP beat the fuck out of you in UFRJ
>>14594733it must be nice having a campus by the sea shore. ex-CS fag in pic rel.
>>14596652I was very lazy back in my enem days and I didn't took it as seriously as I should. My score wasn't high enough for CS, so I entered in another course and switched to CS later on.
>>14594733Good way to get doxxed.
>>14597164Oh, so while you were in you had to retake the exam to enroll into the CS course? That might work too

>uniQueen’s University (at Kingston)>courseEngineering
>>14597225no. I entered in BCMT (bacharelado em ciências matemáticas e da terra) because they offer a special transfer program, different from the other courses. I managed to switch to CS because of this
>>14597911>Name 10 places in America you'd rather beCalifornia, Florida, Georgia, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Hawaii, South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi
>>14596652ENEM is a meme. I only studied 2 hours before the test and i'm enrolled in UFPE for engineering. Literally just don't get any easy math questions wrong and memorise an essay formula from the internet. Plus now there is 10% a quota for natives from Pernambuco now.
>>14599134Its objectively not a meme. Most people have to spend at least 1 year in specialized courses just to get a decent mark. You are either gifted or was an exceedingly good student at high school.

>>14599189I'm a retard. I almost got retented in high school, spent 95% of the time in the math section making sure i didn't get anything wrong and had to guess all of the science section.
>>14599213>guess all science sectionwhat the hell, so you probably got a shit score in the rest of the test, do they only take into account the Math section at your university or what

>>14602241True but it's EXTREMELY difficult to get into a top-10 school here in the US as an international applicant. Like sub-1% acceptance rates
>>14598959Seattle is not so bad, is there sking near by?Oregon is really awesome too, and Nevada right, the people of those areas are cool, depends what kind of climate and what kind of people and what kind of architectural city planning lay out, etc.
>>14602429more like 4 %, at least for a PhD in CS.
>>14594733>Brown>Medical school but studied here in undergrad as well doing philosophy and obviously premed
I have credits from 10 institutions. My full transcript, if I'm ever asked for it, would look ridiculous.I've done classes at 3 different community colleges, all after finishing my under graduate degree. For undergrad I started at a middling school and transferred to a higher end one. Then I went to graduate school and taught undergrads at an very top elite school, and then I later got another graduate degree at a good but not great school. What struck me is how little the difficulty of the course work or caliber of the students changed. There was an obvious difference, but not the one you would expect between "everyone who wants can come," and 6% acceptance rates for the undergrads. A bunch were not very good.

>>14602690Seattle just don't live near Capital Hill or downtown and it's a chill city. Most homeless are pretty nice too.

>>14604571>>14603404just out of curiosity, what happens to you in Oxford if the other students find out you browse 4chan
>>14604703entirely depends, as long as you stay clear from certain 8th wave intersectional feminist types nobody really cares. this may sound cringe-inducing but amongst my friends, most of whom study PPE, history, and other humanities subjects, words like "based" come up in conversation all the time. fortunately too oxford has a rather large conservative population (note that cambridge is generally seen as the more left wing of the oxbridge institutions), in particular the conservative society is quite famous - iirc, courtney love (ex-girlfriend of kurt cobain) is currently the society's officer for rock and roll.tldr: stay clear of loonies and nobody will care
>>14604809cool, but I read once that 50 % of British students were explicitly favorable to censoring controversial/offensive speech. I think it was this poll but I don't remember: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7672091/Fewer-HALF-UK-students-support-freedom-speech-polls-finds.htmlShit like that makes me fear even setting foot in a British university, no matter how good they are. Also, even reddit says "based" these days, kek
>>1460484150% seems low even by american university standards
>>14596931Apenas se for da Poli

>>14606364your school has a large number of faculty and staff who dedicates their research efforts to coming to 4chan and similar sites and hanging on my every word. here is one of their latest summaries of my genius https://stacks.stanford.edu/file/druid:ns280ry2029/20220601_gabufacturing_dissent.pdfyour tuition finances that research, why are you wasting your daddy's money on them instead of me? here you are directly at the source, why piss away all that cash on low iq stanford employees when you can get a better education here on 4chan for free?
>>14607199The students are all dumbass engineers who are functionally illiterate. Plus Christchurch is boring as shit.

>>14604571Are you faggots actually smarter than us or is it a meme? I'm going to KIT in Germany.
>>14607225what modules do you want ladi've almost exclusively done the logic/theory stuff>>14609886the oxford and cambridge compsci syllabus is miles ahead of the vast majority of other compsci syllabi i've looked at, since they actually take logic and (track b) theoretical CS seriously, and the other more applied modules (e.g. graphs, machine learning, etc.) are actually mathematically rigorous and not just software engineering in disguisei would assume the best american universities are like this too, but i don't actually know
>>14594733
>>14607707she also couldn't hack it in academia and dropped out of her phd, which does not help the school's reputation
>>14607707>>14611337who?

>>14613565>twerk to trap for extra-creditLiterally nonexistent in Oxbridge. There's no extra credit. Final exam/viva or bust.
>>14594733MRU and it is Computer Information Systems. I wish had the gpa for Computer Science though.
>>14596652Just enroll in any course in any backwater bumfuck campus for free vacancy and tranfer to the campus and course you want. I entered CS in a small town uni with little to nothing to do and tranfered to my mom's town and now am doing the course i want(engeineering). My enem was shit, and was below cut margin for CS, but there was excess vacancies
>>14594733>UCL>CompSciI should have applied to Imperial/Oxbridge because I got A* in pretty much everything that counts, but I'm a retard and can't think ahead
>>14615585He means the UK is only not worse than the US because the US has hilarious extra credit possibilities like "watch Beautiful mind and write a paragraph on your favourite scene"
>>14610895Not him but I will happily take automata theory logic anything you think is goodI'm jealous, my school is just software engineering bootcamp.
>>14615553not him but year basically, it's a very good course (also, you can take "continuous" mathematics modules anyway, the degree is just what Warwick calls Mathematics and Computer Science -- you can take modules from each department)
