How do I become a university teacher without doing research? Is it possible? Will I need a PhD?
I want to teach, I don't care about doing research.

Work at city college as math 101 prof. The shittiest college I'm personally aware of has its phys 101 class taught by a guy with a PhD currently doing research. He said to me that he's sad because his college buddy got a job at Intel and makes 10 times what he does and likes doing it even though he works 15 hours a day.

Nothing is stopping him from doing the same, if he really wanted

Community colleges. The pay is shit though, teaching is not valuable and it kind of sucks in general.

>You can just grab a high salary too!
Literally the only "white" males I know at Intel are Jews who had family working there already and gave them references. If you are a white male you had to do something extremely special in your PhD to get a research position there.

Anyway I can't complain. Got a cosy position at a national lab doing what I love. Not Intel level pay, but at least I don't have any teaching duties.

You can take lecturer jobs yes. Whether or not you need a PhD depends on the offer, but it is possible

Get a masters degree. Plenty of people who teach lower level courses with masters at universities.
