Best way to improve focus and concentration?
Waste 8+hours daily shit posting and watching YouTube instead of studying

Being a neet has really fucked my attention span

Called discipline. You wouldn't understand.
>>
>>13257298
The easiest and most efficient way to improve focus is to remove distractions.
You won't be as inclined to smoke if you don't have any cigarretes. You won't get drunk if you have no alcohol.
The same principle applies here. Block access to websites you don't want to visit or, if that's not enough, literally unplug your computer.
I was in a similar situation and I did a "dopamine detox week" where I turned off every single electronic device I had. I was bored sometimes sure but it worked wonders. I haven't played any vidya since and I've started reading books a lot more (non-fiction).
>>
>>13257298
>Best way to improve focus and concentration?
actually be interested in what you're doing instead of forcing yourself to do shit you dont really give a fuck about
>>
>>13258286
My brain is only interested in consooming and shitposting for hours
However I want to stop being a degenerate and push through with this meme degree, don't wanna become a neet again

fuck college, just be a sociopath and lie your way into a decent job you can figure out as you go so you can shitpost while consooming
>>

It fucking exists. ADHD brains show a distinct pattern in imaging.
>>
>>13257894
>haha just stop
Actual brainlet take. That's not how addiction works for most, otherwise it wouldn't exist.
>>
>>13257625
>tfw fell for the adhd meme
>been on adderall for 1 year now
>barely even works
Quitting this summer since I won't have any classes. What's the chance of me getting back to normal brain state after 3 months?
>>
>>13259086
>for most
Actual addicts are a minority of "addicts" but hey, whatever helps you sleep at night, I'm just trying to help. If he's GENUINELY addicted he needs professional help, not random advice from here.
>>
>>13257625
>are you on meth for the adhd?
This is unfair to the people on meth. A meth-head can stay up for a week or more. Meth-heads also have tweaker strength. On adderall I can go three days and then I'm sick for a week. If you binge adderall like meth, you'll get all the bad effects after like a day or so.

It's really not like meth at all. Meth is fucking poison. Adderall isn't poison in erdos-level doses, like a few dozen mg or some shit per day as a substitute for coffee.

Having a doctorate doesn't make "I don't believe in mental illness, cultural annihilation, anomie, loneliness, economic collapse or childhood neglect, people are just lazy" a valid or worthwhile opinion

>>13259086
Yeah almost like none of these things are addictions, and the only reason people want to use addiction narratives is so that they can deploy 12 step cult gaslighting to activities they dislike for personal or religious reasons
>>
>>13259086
you might be the brainlet here tho.
not having $addictive_stuff nearby and easily available absolutely does help though. any extra mile you have to walk and extra hoops to jump through will make it harder to relapse.
>>
>>13257298
Get a fucking job
>>
>>13257625
If anyone thinks meth is even similar to Adderall, they have never done meth. Meth is way fucking better by miles.
>>
>>13260501
hello zoomer
>>
>>13257625
the main reason meth is so popular in US is because pharmacy speed is expensive as fuck off the street. like 1 adderall pill can be like $30 unless it's cut with meth or a mix of other bullshit. meth is pretty shit by contrast, you can sleep on pharmacy adderall but meth tweaks your body out like hell and lasts like 20 hours off a dose
>>
>>13260317
>few dozen mg or some shit per day as a substitute for coffee
You don't feel like some kind of productive robot while on the meds? I'm on Aderall IR and that's the one thing I really hate about it. It's nice having productivity but I hate feeling like an emotionless husk.

what's your basics like sleep/diet/exercise like? when i was new to it i would get like that easily cause id lose like 10 lbs in a week just sitting in my chair with no sleep
>>
>>13261983
My sleep is pretty awful honestly. Ranges from 5-7 hours per night. Haven't been to the gym in a while either. Diet is fine though.
>>
>>13262075
Read "Why we sleep" by Matthew Walker
if you don't know where to download go to z-lib.org
>>
>>13257298
I've wasted 10 years struggling through school denying the diagnostic and refusing to sacrifice my body to big pharma reptilians.
Suffered a severe mental breakdown 2 years ago due to forcing myself to study and was given zoloft and after a while bupropion. My mind is clear, memory better than ever and motivation improved. I effortlessly absorb anything I read.
Good luck with whatever you choose though.
>>
>>13262165
>They all, eventually, break.
>>
>>13262075
yeah that sleep catches up to you, adderall just puts a mask on all of it. do you crash in the evening off it? melatonin is probably the best option to help, benadryl is ok. alcohol is for an emergency sleep basically. id imagine if you were to cut it off you'd sleep like 12 hours for a few days.

also get into cardio, it helps like every side effect adderall has.
>>
>>13262250
No crashes in the evening. When I was on XR I would crash horribly in the middle of the day. But on IR it hits me differently and I don't really feel a crash unless I get dehydrated. It might be because it's finals week though and I've been stressed out more than usual. For most of the quarter I've been sleeping fine but still even back then I still felt abnormal mentally when on the meds.

For me, using cellphone less by putting it away until some specific hour, and fapping only to imagination its working

Accept the boredom, if you are too bored, study

Cal Newport's advice is solid if you put it into practice.

Here's a hypothesis about procrastination. It's a reaction to unintentional forgetting a task that is more important according to one's core values. The procrastination activities are motivated by an innate mechanism that rediscoveres forgotten memories. Psychologists use the term 'regression' but it just means that you forgot a major life goal because you were focused on something else. It's still at the back of your mind associated with your core values, which are associated with whatever triggers the procrastination.

How does one improve their discipline to get things done , and to stay on track ? Personally all of my motivation and discipline gets completely destroyed after my 13 hour work day is over, I come home and can hardly leave my apartment some days - let alone self study

Not that anon, but these are some long lists of websites that get blocked given you put them in your hosts file.
As the page says they are good at blocking social media websites, gambling, porn whatever you want.
Basically your computer will redirect all the connections to these sites to an invalid ip address (0.0.0.0).
