" Cadence has fallen!"" The Alabaster has been breached! The Flagship won't hold much longer!" " Commander, your orders? Commander? " Amidst the brewing Chaos, You stood motionless. What sort of Hope could you provide to these pitiful fools? The Xzjket Swarm had already devoured its way to the last hope of humanity. There was but one thing to do. You must abandon this timeline. Your failure would still haunt you even after pulling the trigger blasting your brain without a second thought for death was hardly the end. Evertime, it was your cosmic blessing and curse. With this strange power. You could hop from one timeline to another. There was a catch, said timeline would always be plagued by the Xzjket swarm and you would be in some form of authority.Who was your next incarnation? > James Ledd ( Mech Pilot) Background: Born in Genniyah, one of the most hostile rimworlds In the Federation, James dedicated his life to eradicate the insectoid menace from his Homeworld. The new waves of giant Xzjket had forced the planetary governor to deploy two Mechs (he couldn't afford any more ) on the ground. Genniyah was lucky to pilot one of them. Together with his buddy Polaris, The two Mechs would face the Broodmother for one final showdown. What to expect: Pilot banter , Missions across the planet to gain enough strength for one final boss, no dice, final destination. > Jamilah Al-Hassani ( Xenoentomologist) Background : One of the brightest minds of Cons-76, a research facility orbiting around Consetilla Prime. Her research team had made a very short lived discovery of an alien artifact which had either killed or mutated everyone on board with the exception of Jamiliah, her pet dog and her trusty android bodyguard. The planet down below was under attack by a new strain of the Swarm. Could Jamiliah create a true xeno killer from the artifact before the ultimate destruction of her planet? What to expect: big brain time, dice, experiments, live/dead test subjects, race against time. >Jacque Vonseoux ( Planetary Governor) Background: New Scevia was the star jewel of the whole system until the previous Governor decided to launch a full scale invasion over Mixa, a nearby planet since the Federation was too busy dealing with the Swarm. Not only did the Mixaians defended their homeworld, they also retaliated with an invasion of their own. Jacque was elected to be the governor after his predecessor had killed herself to escape from her responsibilities. The new governor must rebuild the whole planet while he could before another invasion of the Xzjket variety would bring true devastation to his homeworld. What to expect: micromanagement, no dice, civ like , clock is ticking, resources.

>>5412159>>5412141>>5412129>>5412122" This is Jamilah Al-Hassani, Xenoentomologist and Head researcher of PANACEA project here in Cons-76 research facility. Today...today, 12th of February 42XX, Leopard Monte had performed a nano scan to Artifact A-001 codenamed..blargh!" A thick Mercury-like substance was all over the messy floor as you puked your heart out." Madam, Documentation of the current events should be of your lower priorities." Jack, Your android bodyguard and sometimes the only person who could understands you, was more than concerned for your safety. He could do little with a single arm, anyways."Someone.. has to do it. I can't let any of my research or breakthrough die with me. The people on Consetilla Prime rely on us. L-let me finish." You wiped off this alien substance from the corner of your mouth before continuing " ... codenamed The Razor, which was located in the heart of Noexo Nebula in an asteroid field. My... deceased colleague had unleash an unknown force of some mutagenic capabilities upon scanning it which had led to the unfortunate death of nearly everyone in the facility according to their bio-signature bracelets and a total lockdown. A...piece of the Razor is embedded in my chest, my results are still inconclusive but I theorise that this piece keeps me alive with no clear sign of mutations. I am aware of this fact because of the optical illusion which I could only see..." For the third time, you tried to touch it " Two strands of Mercury, one for my bodyguard, Jack and the other for my Dog Betty who is trapped in the living quarter, these two strands are directly connected to the piece in my chest. Maybe this is why they are still alive? I see alien sigil floating in my view but I can not interpret it as of right now." " Congratulations on your 30th birthday, madame." " The Razor...appears to accelerate my aging process. I was 28 just an hour ago. Further studies are required."The muffled screech from the other side of the lab had startled you but you should be relatively safe for the time being.1/?
>>5412229" Jack, just...say happy birthday next time." The blast combined with all of that fighting must damaged his AI, he used to have a very bright personality. He must have rolled back to his default setting to attain his normal functions.." Affirmative." Your bodyguard remained silent for the rest of the recording." As I was saying, Project PANACEA was launched to uncover the secrets of the Razor in hopes to find anything that will give us an edge - pun not intended- against the Xzjket who are already invading the planet down below with some reports of mutations very similar to what I am saw here." " YYLLAAARGHHHH!!!!!" A cluster of eight glowing yellow eyes kept haunting you from outside the lab, whoever was on the other side kept clawing it's mutilated arms against the reinforced door until they were reduced to a bloody stump. The mutated man or woman had eventually gave up wandering away from here." We are currently trapped inside the lab. Thankfully, most of our equipment aren't damaged. The lab has its own power source so it shouldn't be a problem. Ugh, my thoughts are too scattered, I need the Whiteboard."You quickly wrote down everything you had to solve or die trying. They were in no particular order: >Project PANACEA: In order to fabricate thexeno killer, you must perform several key tasks.1) AUTOPSY and genetics sequencing on - Normal Human being ( Done!)- Normal Xzjket swarmer ( Done!) - Mutated Xzjket swarmer ( 25% Done)- Mutated Human being ( 0% Done)Extraction of genetics code of these corpses is crucial to build any future hypothesis.2) Running the raw data through simulation ( or the Razor if it had some computing power, needs to be scanned first) 3) Figuring out the Swarm weakness and running more tests before making a prototype PANACEA 4) Testing the prototype on normal and Mutated swarmerers as well as Mutated humans. The swarmers are found in the containment cells.5) After attaining preferable results, initiate grand scale production followed by releasing the xeno killer into the atmosphere.> Full Access to the facility. In order to finish the final two steps of the project, You must have full access to the facility and the director's access key for launching sequence. For now, your first step is to lift the lockdown. Doing so will allow the mutated horrors outside to roam freely as well.> The Razor The alien artifact still remained a mystery, you must run more tests on it to reveal more of its secrets.> Yourself You are a walking anomaly. You need to study the piece of the Razor inside of you for obvious reasons. The whole aging progressing is making you nervous.> JackYour bodyguard was heavily damaged while protecting you from the mutated researchers, he is missing an arm and is out of ammo. He is in dire need of repairs and/or upgrades to his module.> Misc.Tidying up the messy lab, saving your pet...etc . Minor issues that could add up if left unchecked.2/?
>>5412306> Yourself Ensure our own continuity first to make sure this aging issue doesn't get the better of us or render us super old by the time we get around to solving it. No point living through this whole thing if most of our life has gone by after all.
>>5412306We have two phases : The Whiteboard phase and the action phase.Time is frozen during the Whiteboard phase , we can discuss our next move as well as certain questions directed towards us and Jack . Keep in mind that the former is a researcher and the latter is an android bodyguard who had been recently deployed here so their answers will depend on THEIR KNOWLEDGE of said question.Example A ( good because it is part of her Job)= Where are the containment cells?Example B (Bad because Jack had only combat modules and lacks the know how for your question) : Can Jack hack a terminal or something? Example C ( Good because this is her field of expertise) : How resistant the swarmers are to pesticides?Example D( Bad because Jack hadn't downloaded the facility's blueprints): Where does this vent lead to?After answering all of your questions ( try to keep it within reason so I won't have to post a 20k update, also keep in mind that a good chunk of your question would be automatically answered down below) , you must choose an action for both Jamilah and Jack to perform from the above mentioned problems that must be tackled. This will lead us to the action phase.During the action phase, the following will increase:-Jamilah's age- Mutated Population - Deceased Population - Any previously taken long action ( like research) If the total population was reduced to critical number ( less that 5%) , or if Jamilah is incapable of resuming her research ( death by hazards/mutated humans/old age...etc) , her story would be over. You could always ABANDON TIMELINE if things get too hairy. Note that things will ramp up with time.Sometimes, certain follow ups to your choice will have several approaches with odds of success for each approaches. To save time, I will roll once. There wasn't any materials around the lab for any makeshift upgrade or fix.Repairs/upgrades are performed at Maintenance and Storage in a specialised station. Well, since the alien artifact wasn't stuck inside your body, you can run more experiments on it such as extreme heat/cold/pressure or even radiation if you bold enough. The Razor was still pretty much contained so you could go wild with it.However, unless the test took explicitly short time, you might want to do something else before you would get the test results. The PANACEA Project's first step was further subdivided into Autopsy , Vivisection ( for the mutated swarmers/human) and genetic sequencing.
