>Do you want to play risk without any hard-coded rules as you see on other Risk websites or software?
>Do you want to develop a unique story of civilization however you want and narrate it?
>Do you want to play a game of risk but with more diplomacy?
If yes to any of the above, then this story-telling game is for you!

Read the rules | how to play here (you could read all the way up to "puppets". The rest isn't necessary): https://pastebin.com/hQMZiGUM.

The dice you put in the "options" box is:
dice+1d10

>What is /conqst/?
/conqst/ is a 4Chan story-telling game that is just like Risk but allows you to have more freedom in defining your civilization. When I first started the beta (because I was new to /qst/), I originally wanted to play a regular game of risk. But, as this beta went on for a few weeks, it turned into something that IS worth playing. You're constantly involved in the development of a unique global story that is overlapped by other stories of civilization. This major element changed how the game is played, so I called it /conqst/.

>Can I join/Stop playing?
Yes and yes! Read the rules on how to play. If there isn't any free territory (shaded in white), some players may be nice enough to give you land or allocate a puppet state. If not, then you could wait until the next game (or when I kick out inactive players). If you want to stop playing, just either let me know or stop going to this thread. I'm not going to cry if you do leave.

>How hard is it to learn how to play this game?
Not too hard. You start with 5 territories, expand until you can't expand, and choose to either attack, fortify, or defend. Plain and simple. You can be specific about your moves like in a strategy game.

It's beautiful. Soon, the whole world will fly under our banner.

i did add it
25. Coup d'état (Attack): If you attack and successfully captured any of their territories, there is a chance that they will become your puppet state. The calculation to successfully make them a puppet state is this: (your territories - opponent's territories)/10 > your dice roll. Your roll must be lower to successfully make another nation your puppet state.
>>
>>4662029
huh based!
>>
>>4662029
Do you have counts for everyone's territories currently? I'd rather not have to go through and count all of these. Also, can you directly control puppet states created by the "coup"? Do they generate their own NS?
>>
>>4661854
"United States, my good friend! I see someone on the horizon of my borders. If they are friends, we should add them to our alliance. If they be foes, I will crush them before they destroy us both."
>>
>>4661859
Not to be an A, but could I get a plus one on my rolls for being a super power and conquering a continent?
>>
>>4662043
I don't have the count yet, and I will get started on that.

Basically, puppets are nations of their own with limited rights, but they can be controlled by their master (in other words, if the master tells the puppet to do something, THEY MUST COMPLY or its an attempted liberation.). However, just because a puppet is under another nation doesn't necessarily mean game over (the rules about puppets cover liberation and other things). I did not think about NS and puppets because we never had one, but if I were to add this into the ruleset, it would be "Yes, but every NS increment is halved, so rolling 10 would be 5, 9 would be 4, etc.". Considering the recent # of players, this strategy was supposed to be when there are MORE players and not 4 (Again, looks like nobody else wants to play this variant of /risk/ in /qst/.)

>>4662067
Superpower is aesthetic and has no effect on gameplay (its roughly based on how many territories the player has against other players and how well they are doing in the last few maps). I will consider your ideas and think about how to add it.

Welcome to the world stage, Iserlohn Republic! Will you explore the unknown lands and take what's rightfully yours?

>>4663153
I've just realized there's an ambiguous statement in that strategy. "Any nations who have actions on those flipped territories are canceled out." means if another nation is attacking, defending, or fortifying from the flipped territories, it's canceled out. It is not "Once the territory is flipped, no one can attack it, give fortifications, etc.", hence the reason the map is still the same as before. Thank you, U.S.

>>4663266
You kind of boned US on the last map.
If Culture Flip stops the opponents movements onto the adjacent territories as well as your own, but won't give you their territory when attacking, a recourse of reinforcements or usage of the roll for expansion elsewhere ought to be given to the user of the National Strength. He did have a 10 for the roll.
>>
>>4663279
That strategy is tricky to decipher when prioritizing what takes place first between two nations at war. Should I use the national strategy first and give Covid2021 their territories back, or should I use it AFTER covid2021 invaded their territories and have the United States gain their territories back? I've decided that going forward (after the previous map), culture flip doesn't work on opponents at war, so there were no adjustments made to either side regardless of what moves they took. I'll think about a "reimbursement" rule if I made a mistake somewhere and it doesn't sound fair to others. For this map, no, I'm not going to reimburse because the U.S already took your territories and other free territories.

Priority of Moves
The following is how I prioritize moves from first to last:
1. National Strategies (Power-ups, Special)
2. Expansion
3. Attack/Defend/Fortify (including national strategies that use any of these actions)
4. Automated moves (repeats the order above).
5. No action.

The more stuff I add, the more complex this game will get and the more difficult it becomes to notice any errors without any debugging or software tools to help. I would need to develop my own set of tools to ensure the plausibility of the combat mechanics (which I am thinking about doing to speed up the processing and to prove accuracy).

All I'm saying is U.S. roll wasn't used for anything once he used the national strategy.
It's fine if culture flip doesn't work on opponents at war, since it could be argued they have their own pride so you can't convert them and your own pride is so strong you rebuff attempts at invasion, hence their roll is wasted as a bad tactic against the stratagem, but to say you lose your own roll in the process is a bit much.

I know exactly what to do.

National Strength
Doesn't work on puppets under your control.

All my attacks are going into one place: the southern most region of Covid21's territory I border that is not fortified.

I did. Based on my actions and your actions I'm going to take that territory.

You split your forces into Eastern and Western Fronts against two separate nations. Not only that, you further divided your forces across five territories. But even more than that, you chose to attack instead of defend.

By all accounts, I should take that one territory.
>>
>>4665576
The situation is the same as the past few turns, where all of what you said was true, and yet on this turn: >>4664072 I had a roll of one less than you and we tied. Concentrating your attacks no longer gives you a bonus if you've been reading the rule updates. Now, not only are all the circumstances the same, but I have a roll that is two better than this past one (one above yours as opposed to one under yours).

By all accounts, not only will you fail to take territory, but I should take your territory.

Ace, remember this post I made 10 days ago? >>4649484
I removed the broad penalty for attacking, defending, and fortifying because the attack mechanics were boring asf. I've been following it ever since. Since Covid2021 is attacking all of your adjacent territories, the only penalty he has is the # of enemy neighbors penalty (dice roll - (# of enemy neighbors - 1)), which means if you don't change your actions now to defending for all of your adjacent territories with Covid2021 (you won't go below a roll of 0 for changing your actions), Covid2021 WILL take your territories (Because you said: "All my attacks are going into one place: the southern most region of Covid21's territory I border that is not fortified.")
Your attack roll: 1
Covid2021's attack roll: 1 (2-1)
His action:
>Attack all adjacent Ace territories in the West (Saudi Arabia and Israel area)

tl;dr No, you failed to make Covid2021 your puppet.
>>
>>4665696
Bummer. What happens if choose to attack all of his territories instead? Will I still lose land because he has fortifications or will we even out?

I'll change the attack to all of his lands instead and also add on to move my fortifications closer to the border.
>>
>>4665709
If both of you attack (considering this map), it will cancel out, which means nothing changes even if either one of you defend. No, you will not lose land if he has fortifications.

Since everyone had shitty rolls, the next map will most likely be a stalemate all around.

United States,

We had originally thought that you were chief among war mongers and imperialists in this world, but as the political situation has developed, we realize this belief may have been mistaken. Ace has shown to be more cold hearted and scheming than we could dream you were, even going so far as assimilating your territories into his spreading empire while you were yet allied. It is apparent to us that Ace only has the worst intentions for not only us, but the world at large, including you. Now, I know not what reasons you may have for deciding to stay allied to them after their treachery, but that is your business. However, I would ask you, in the unlikely scenario should your American alliance eventually be successful in your war against mighty Covid, do you really think Ace will be sated? Do you think he will stay loyal to you? Is a world with Ace as its most major player really for the better? I submit that the answer to all of these is almost certainly "no".

I believe we have bloodied the lands of East Asia quite enough. Your armies have been largely routed from the mainland of Asia, and we continue to advance on all fronts, despite the collapse of our allies. We believe it is in both of our interests, and indeed those of the world at large, that we cease the fighting between our two nations. We will even be kind enough to not demand any reparations, in recognition of the fear you must be under with such proximity to the tyrants to your east.

Covid proposes peace between itself and the United States.

Sadly, most of those who would give you a civilized response (or indeed, one at all) have passed from this world. You're trying to negotiate with a power who took territories from his allies when they were at war, got them incredibly upset about it, and then did it again. The Confederacy is no longer here, but it seem he really has the US whipped. Anyways, expect little success negotiating with his type.

You don't have any territories adjacent to you to use chemical orange on the territory shown in your picture. When you attack, you can only attack territories adjacent to your nation.

You can change your actions at any time, but you can't change your national strategy. If you do change your actions based on what other players do, it's a -1 to your roll.

Just this once, I'll allow you to change your national strategy, but please read the rules on defending, fortifying, expansion, and attacking carefully before you do.

Attacking Covid and Iselohn
25. Coup d'état (Attack): If you attack and successfully captured any of their territories, there is a chance that they will become your puppet state. The calculation to successfully make them a puppet state is this: (your territories - opponent's territories)/20 > your dice roll. Your roll must be lower to successfully make another nation your puppet state. Doesn't work on puppets under your control.

QM, I think the Coup NS may be a bit too strong of a NS. It auto wins entire wars against relatively smaller nations once you get big enough, and the closest comparable power swing is blitzkrieg, which only gets you an extra territory deeper. At the point, Ace needs only to win a single territory against anyone he faces when he has Coup active (which he would do every time it's available). The best counterplay available to this is to hold a NS to double your defense whenever he does this, and even this will eventually fail in these long drawn out wars when he eventually gets a good roll and the defender gets one too low to resist. You may have noticed, but I've also tried to establish a fort line along my entire border with him, but there is still one territory unfortified, and Coup only requires one to be taken. There is absolutely no downside to him spamming Coup. Doesn't this seem problematic to you?

I would suggest increasing the requirements to successfully coup, limiting the number of times you can do it to one country (or at all), and/or just removing it.
>>
>>4668908
Yeah, I kinda have to agree with this, I just managed to dodge that (admittedly it was my fault for attacking him in the first place), but I still nearly got turn one puppeted. I don't think it should be gotten rid of entirely, just that it's a little over powered. Maybe it should give a certain amount of territory to someone else, or turn it into free territory.
>>
>>4668908
>>4669053
I was thinking the same thing about it being too OP a few days ago. I've already decreased the debuffs for puppets from -3 attack to -1 attack, but I'm not removing the NS. Additionally, Ace had more territory to begin with, so it would make sense that they have an advantage over you and Iserlohn when using this strategy. I'll make it more difficult to use it the fewer players we have, but that would mean I would have to give Ace a second chance to use another national strategy to solve some mid-game problems.
>>
>>4669426
That is still far and away the most powerful NS. If I want to rebel (in other words, continue the war) after I eventually get puppeted, I would have a permanent -1 to all rolls, while he would be able to choose other NS's in the meantime. I really do think it's just a poorly designed NS, and puppets should not be something that you can be forced to be, especially as a major nation. QM, do you honestly think that this map is not auto-win for ace with the Coup NS existing as it is? Sure, they should have SOME advantage from being larger, but this is ridiculous. There is no counterplay, unless he has the biggest unlucky streak ever and only rolls low for the next several dozen rolls, we WILL get puppeted and he just wins sudden death through mass territory. I would be fine with giving Ace an opportunity to switch out NS. I'll have you know now that I do not plan to continue playing if Coup stays as it is, because we would just be playing out a foregone conclusion.

>>
>>4669452
>I'll think about it when I have more time
Ok, please let us know what conclusion you reach.
>>
>>4669469
Ok, here's my conclusion:

I still want the strategy in, and I still want puppet states. Coup d'état and Metallic shell will have their attack and defense power lowered respectively should there be fewer players. Here's my algorithm for both:
Coup d'état: attacker's dice roll * log(# of players, log outcome cannot be greater than 1.)
Metallic shell: defense dice roll * log(# of players, log outcome cannot be greater than 1.)
I've already stated before that this is how I wanted Coup d'état to function when it came to low player count, but I wanted to see how it plays out: >>4662095
Unfortunately, this was the best I came up with as I don't see any other way around it (if you can think of a better idea, I will consider it).

As for puppet states, I've already adjusted it, but it may not be finalized until I know how it plays out (we still haven't had anyone as a puppet yet). I agree that major nations shouldn't easily fall for the coup strategy (hence the territorial difference between two nations), but I disagree about forcing a coup on other players. Ace has gained all of these free territories fairly (most of his territorial gains are due to culture flipping and other players quitting), and I don't have control over what other players do. You on the other hand, had other nations take up free territories, which made it hard for you to expand and thus, you're at a disadvantage.

Aside from this, another problem that I've noticed recently is the back and forth movement with the attack mechanics. While I do see some significant changes when there were the other 3 players in some shit alliance, major events are seldom with fewer players. I am thinking about changing the game pace whenever there are fewer players in the game (which would mean I would need to make another massive update to the mechanics). I would need to think about this thoroughly if I decide to implement it (it will most likely be something similar to blitzkrieg but active depending on # of players), but it isn't final. I also plan on making a new game next weekend and lock this one so we got a fresh start (this game will continue to play out as usual until we have a winrar).

If you have any suggestions or ideas, please lmk.
>>
>>4669573
>Coup d'état: attacker's dice roll * log(# of players, log outcome cannot be greater than 1.)
>Metallic shell: defense dice roll * log(# of players, log outcome cannot be greater than 1.)
I'm confused here, with the context of Metallic Shell, I would think this means that these NS's would be modifiers to the dice rolls, but Coup didn't originally provide any combat bonuses, and the formula there was a requirement for what you had to roll to successfully coup.
Can you explain how these work?

As for alternate ideas for Coup, perhaps you can use one or some of these:
- put a limit on the times you can coup
- put a limit on the times you can coup an individual country
- give a combat buff to a country that successfully defends a coup
- give a combat nerf to a country that fails when attempting a coup
- disabling coups against Super Powers
- disabling coups against Potential Super Powers
- Couping instead creates a non-player puppet made out of territories that you take on the turn that you activate Coup (maybe with nerfed stats)
- Couping instead creates a non-player group of territories somewhere inside their territory hostile to the player that got couped (maybe with nerfed stats)

One thing I've noticed is that there is little other incentive to defend besides taking advantage of fortifications. Unless you are defending a NS that takes advantage of capturing territory, attacking blindly seems to almost always be better, because there is no consequence to failing an attack as long as the enemy is not also attacking. Realistically, you would think there would be some negative consequence to throwing troops over and over against a fortified position, and there already exist countermeasures to fortifications (specific NS's, forts being difficult to effectively set up) to prevent stalemates. Maybe this is something to think about.
>>
>>4669607
Basically, the formulas:
>Coup d'état: attacker's dice roll * log(# of players, log outcome cannot be greater than 1.)
>Metallic shell: defense dice roll * log(# of players, log outcome cannot be greater than 1.)
are applied first, then the original formula. What this does is caps the maximum roll when a player attacks. For example, if we had 3 players and Ace rolls a 9 and uses coup, his attack roll would be a 4. The main point of these formulas is to limit their overall power when it comes to fewer players. With Metallic Shell, that would be the same as you said when it comes to spamming coup. It would eventually provide immunity and doesn't help the progression of the game. This might change if there are more players.

>Alternative ideas (in the order of your suggestions)
1. No. National Strength already limits this.
2. No, but I could stack the debuff to make it more difficult to pull off with more nations.
3./4. I'll think about it.
5./6. I'll wait on providing bonuses to superpower statuses since it seems like something that could affect the game's progression (even though I said before that they are purely aesthetic.).
7./8. That actually sounds like a fun idea to implement! But, how would players manage it if my colors are limited (There's only a certain # of colors to choose from in order to distinguish between players)? And if I were to implement something like this, it would be a separate strategy from Coup d'état and limited in some way.

>Defense
You've got a point on defenses, and I do like your idea. Yes, this is something I will think about.

>But, how would players manage it if my colors are limited
Perhaps they could be represented by that player's color striped through with another player's color, or the "couper's" (see pic related)? For "hostile coup faction in territory", you could have a color dedicated to "rebels" or "resistance elements".

The updated formulas look better by the way, though I think there is still room to make them more interesting to use, and perhaps should have negative consequences from attempting too much even in a larger player game.
>>
>>4669661
>Colors
True. Why didn't I think of that lol.

Thank you so much for your insight! I'll update/change/think about some of these rules/changes when I'm not too busy (it may be before the next map). I hope it works. For now, Coup d'état is disabled until I make those changes.

fyi, doing things like "focusing on the middle east" while not attacking elsewhere does literally nothing for you. You've been wasting your incredible advantage against the US in favor of trying to focus your efforts and this means your bad dice rolls actually mean you're losing ground pretty badly. If you don't want to think about strategy, just ooga booga attack everywhere like US and Ace have done all game.
>>
>>4674796
He's right. Riskhost claims to separate your dice roll into the different areas based on your choices of national strategies, expanding, attack, defense, and fortification every turn. I don't do anything but either attack, defend, or expand because to do all five at once is for pussies.

This is what I was talking about btw, there is no reason not to say "attack both the United States and Ace in all adjacent territories". you don't gain any number or mechanical advantage by saying "prioritise x". All you do is potentially waste a die roll. There is no reduction in combat potential by expanding the area you attack.

Continue marching through Iserlohn everywhere.
Expand into all territories
Fortify all borders with Iserlohn.
Defend any territories Iserlohn is attacking if he attacks.
Attack instead of defend if I can't attack and defend at the same time

You see how boring that looks to read and write out every turn?
>>
>>4675991
Perhaps boring for you. Half that post is invalid, and certainly isn't proper strategy in any context where you aren't already dominating them.
>>
>>4675997
Right. Why would I bother fortifying borders when I have such a high advantage already and more than likely am going to take over the territories, thus needing more fortifications for the newly taken over territories? I'm not Rome, I'm not trying to make walls along the edge of my borders.
I don't have to expand my territories, for the same reason above, I'm going to take over the territory anyways as well as already having such a lead.
Why defend when attacking is more effective with my anger in place?
Why attack in one or two places when I can attack everywhere and gain more territory in the process?
So my options left are to attack everywhere, expand, or attack everywhere and expand everywhere, unless I went full retard and decide to attack US, which I won't, since being in the alliance is beneficial for the both of us.
To me, it's more fun to interact with the other players, instead of trying to minmax every turn, especially considering only 2-5 NS are viable in a game at any given point.
>>
Rolled 8 (1d10)

>>4675535
Wait, what? This is how it works, right?
>You can only attack the territories adjacent to your nation. If there are no defenses between two territories and both players attack each other, the player with the higher dice roll wins that territory.

I've just been fucked by three bad rolls and the number of territories bonus getting out of hand. I'll admit, I perhaps should have expanded more, but I don't really see much else I could have done.

>>4675523
Defending for this turn, because no way am I beating those rolls.
>>
>>4676025
>Why would I bother fortifying borders when I have such a high advantage already
Refer to:
>in any context where you aren't already dominating them.
>I don't have to expand my territories, for the same reason above
Perhaps not now, but previously you definitely did not have a certain advantage, and in fact lost ground, and we didn't know when he would implement Sudden Death, so expanding as a free action had no downsides.
>Why defend when attacking is more effective with my anger in place?
Refer to my previous quote, and in other circumstances, you can fortify with leftover points, and sometimes create fortifications through overwhelming attacks. It is better to defend high fortification territories than attack, even with anger bonus, especially if you haven't seen your opponents' roll yet. Notice how I consistently pushed against and won against the US even after all my allies left the equation, this was because I used this strategy when US only ever attacked.
>Why attack in one or two places when I can attack everywhere and gain more territory in the process?
Because this is less effective combat (see fortification explanation above), and risks losing territory and wasting fortifications.
>since being in the alliance is beneficial for the both of us.
Only in the very short term for US, you will eventually eat him, and I don't know why I'm surprised at this point that he didn't think that far ahead.
>To me, it's more fun to interact with the other players
I guess that's fair, but idk what to tell you if you're complaining about being bored in a Risk game when your moves are only ever "attack everyone adjacent to me".

>>4676027
That is how it works, but almost every single turn, you neglected to attack the US in favor of "prioritizing" attacking Ace, which is just handicapping yourself and throwing away your gigantic initial roll lead on him that he couldn't hope to beat. You could have used that to snowball territory, and while Ace was initially rather even with you, eventually, even if he was pushing initially, he wouldn't be able to keep up with your territory gains, and you would beat him 95% of the time. You also could have expanded every turn to compound this, which Ace and US neglected to do all game, choosing to spend their turns exclusively attacking, wasting their extra free expansion.
>>
>>4676039
That was then, this is now.

You still don't get it, do you? I CHOSE to take this course of action, not because I didn't understand it, but because I enjoyed the challenge.

And if you have to make a conscious effort to say, "Alright, I'm gonna use my leftover attack to fortify my territories" instead of being an automated move, why bother rolling the dice at all if it comes down to luck and chance when you're being that slow and meticulous? This game has been going on for over a month already. This is RISK, not a drawn out story-driven narrative. Any player interactions are second to the actual game mechanics, despite mine and everyone's efforts to have a lively bit of back and forth with each other.

Yet you never defended, not even once. Every single turn you choose to attack, albeit in a different manner. At this point, you're arguing stratagems and semantics.

How do you know he and Isherlohn haven't seen the ending already? Maybe they are just going through the motions. Maybe they think they can pull something off. Maybe they're new to the game, like you're new to life. Don't be condescending to them like their brainless halfwits.

This isn't even Sudden Death, but it was always going to happen. As soon as you would have accepted an alliance with Iserlohn, it would have started. For goodness sake, Riskhost hasn't even done an even in 30 maps. At this point, he's probably waiting for us to quit, start sudden death, or become so bored with this he'll just gg the entire thing, like he's going to in 5 days.
>>
>>4676089
>At this point, he's probably waiting for us to quit, start sudden death, or become so bored with this he'll just gg the entire thing, like he's going to in 5 days.

You said you would start Sudden death if you lost one more player.
>>4671498
You said the next game will be on March 6th. Maybe I misread that last one as to take it you will end this game. Am I wrong?
>>
>>4676089
>not because I didn't understand it, but because I enjoyed the challenge.
You chose to do the most boring form of gameplay that had you losing most of the time and involved literally 0 thought for challenge? I'm not sure I understand. If player dropouts hadn't gone so far in your favor, you would have died to RIR or some shit alliance or whoever well before now. Please explain to me what enjoyment you gain from "challenge" when you intentionally exert the least amount of effort possible per turn.

>And if you have to make a conscious effort to say, "Alright, I'm gonna use my leftover attack to fortify my territories" instead of being an automated move, why bother rolling the dice at all if it comes down to luck and chance when you're being that slow and meticulous?
What? Are you new to /qst/? Rolling the dice helps keep things from being entirely predictable. It doesn't even need to be slow and meticulous, and using my brain to strategize hardly uses more words than you do on average.

>Yet you never defended, not even once.
???????
No idea where you got this notion, it is demonstrably false.
Here are some examples of my Battleplans that show me defending territory (blue circles, which I explained last thread):

> At this point, you're arguing stratagems and semantics.
No shit I'm arguing stratagems, you've been arguing with me about strategy: >>4676025
Not sure where you think I'm arguing semantics here.

>How do you know he and Isherlohn haven't seen the ending already?
Perhaps US thought it was a foregone conclusion, but I would say Iserlohn was favored to win until recently (see bottom of >>4676039).

>Maybe they're new to the game, like you're new to life.
>Don't be condescending to them like their brainless halfwits.
>Being condescending is bad unless I do it

>This isn't even Sudden Death, but it was always going to happen.
Correct, which only supports my point, if you bothered to read it. I was referring to previously, when we didn't know WHEN it would be implemented, and amount of territory matters in sudden death, which is why you should have been expanding.

>As soon as you would have accepted an alliance with Iserlohn, it would have started
????
No? It didn't start when it was only me and Erusea vs. you and US, why would it start if I allied with Iserlohn? And why would I, unless I wanted to for roleplay?
>>
>>4676139
>Events
Would you like events to happen in this game? That's not a problem if everyone wants it. I only stopped because I wanted to polish things up.
>Sudden Death
True. This game has gone long enough to the point where more players had the opportunity to join and potentially be a good challenge for you (like Iserlohn), but it didn't happen (maybe lack of interest? If that's the case, then I won't force this type of gameplay here again. I would like to see a lot of players here again just like >>4648046). Additionally, creating a new game may invite new players to join instead of having a game where there's one or two dominant nations, potentially dissuading the newer ones from joining. Hence, my decision for sudden death and new game.

>Next Game and current game
Yes, I won't be ending this game until there's a winner (as outlined in my rules Pastebin link). I will be doing both this game and the next at the same time.

>conflating never just defending with never defending in general

Oh, forgive me sire. Allow me to clarify, as you seem not to understand the intent of my semantic statements. You have never JUST defended in any of your rolls. You always attacked, in one way or another, either directly or countering.
Boring to you, exciting to me. I bet that by only attacking or expanding, and you know, a little diplomacy, would allow me to expand and attack without everyone attempting to dog pile me from the outset. I easily could have lost the game multiple times throughout the course, from Southern Confederacy joining right at my door stop, to US joining to the west, they easily could have made an alliance against me and took my out, Norlandia could not have been wary of me and just started to push my stuff in at Greenland and again when he saw me at Spain, RIR could have saw what I was doing with his "allies" and railroaded me out of Africa by controlled the entire western portion or attacked me as I was attacking Judea, seeing that through my words I was making a beeline to Homosex, but none of that happened and I won out in the end. Why? Because of my actions I took and some good luck.
Finesse was the challenge and goal and here we are.
What keeps the game exciting is the endless possibilities afforded by the Questmaster and the other players at any given time.
Will I be backstabbed by my allies? Will a new nation rise up and dominate? Will the this new event help or hinder my cause? Will I be good enough to convince others to not attack or to join my cause?
Not the bullcrap "Tee-hee 5 one die rolls in a row XD " glitchy broken system afforded by this website that guarantees your demise. Yeah, it's funny and fun, but after a while, it becomes aggravating.
At least you pick up on sarcasm and ballbusting. Going forward, maybe stop the petty sniping at one another?
>we didn't know when he would implement Sudden Death
This sentence implies Sudden Death has started, despite Riskhost stating he would not start Sudden Death until certain criteria were met, as stated in the rules. We know when it would start, as soon as the criteria were met.
Though you're right, it should have started as everyone was in an alliance already.

I would like events. If nobody else wants them, it's not a big deal. Another thing, it's the second thread and most people are dissuade from joining after 50+ turns, over 800 posts have already come and gone. Everyone likes starting out fresh and new, but some lack the perseverance to see it through to the end, or which is really the case in most, is they don't have the time to continue playing due to life. Sweet. I'll keep playing until the bitter end.

>>4676602
Here is my next roll. Same strategy. Attack Isherlohn everywhere. Expand everywhere. Fortify the territories one behind my border with Isherlohn.

Ok, events will start on map #57. And I agree, there are endless possibilities that this game can offer.

On another side note, you and Covid need to chill. I don't care about how things turn out gameplay-wise or "what this player should or shouldn't do". Everyone plays at their own pace and style, just like the U.S listing out his attacks for every region in the world or Iserlohn specifying his attacks. If they made a mistake, then that's on them. Stop trying to prove each other wrong.
>>
>>4677330
At this point, it is not possible for Ace to lose, he will have over a +10 per roll against Iserlohn, and US has lost his opportunity to effectively turn against Ace. You may want to just call it.

The Sword of Chad
>A recent discovery on an American joint mission in Africa has made news around the globe. The legendary artifact they traced is called the "Sword of Chad". A long time ago, a hero named "Chad" led a small tribe of warriors in Africa. He crafted a very powerful sword that could of potentially swayed thousands of people to join his cause. Unfortunately, some bandits from the RIR stole the sword, traded it away, and now, it's nowhere to be found. The nation that finds this sword first is granted +30 attack for 5 maps.
