In a big, dark, empty warehouse smelling of fish, the remnants of the Boss's crew sit on frayed couches and weatherbeaten lawn chairs, eating drive-through meals from Big Bad Burger. One of the few people who seems happy to be here is the small, cheerful redhead, incongruously dressed in a clean shirt and tie amongst this ragged crew of thieves and killers. She stands in front, by a old portable chalkboard, as she addresses the assembled.

"Hello, everyone! Thanks for joining us in the new, umm, safehouse. That sounds nicer than "bolthole" or "filthy abandoned warehouse" I think, don't you?" Claire pauses to flinch away from a rat that skitters past her shoes. "A-anyway, let's begin the meeting!"

Claire begins to scratch on the chalkboard with a piece of white chalk, standing on her toes to reach high enough to write near the top.

"Our topic for today is "How to stay alive when everyone in north Heat City wants to kill us"! Simple, right? Haha ..." She laughs nervously, then continues, chalking up a list on the left side of the board. "I guess let's start with our assets. We have, one, whatever money we scored breaking into the Nebula nightclub last week. Two, a big pile of guns, ammunition, first aid supplies, and ummm, stimulants. Three, a few cars and Ramirez's van. And four, this warehouse, which we're hoping nobody else knows about. Yet. Now, let's move on to -- hey!"

Angela has reached over and plucked the chalk out of Claire's hand. "I appreciate you trying to keep us organized and all, but you're making it more complicated than it needs to be. "It IS more complicated!" Claire snatches the chalk piece back for herself. "Spider has enough gangs dancing on his strings that if we get pinned down by all of them, or even just two or three at once, we're fucked! Our best option is to isolate and pick them off one by one. In the process, we'll get a lead on the man himself. We need to be smart about this."

Angela glares down at Claire, who stares back up defiantly. Tension hangs in the air. Then Angela smiles and ruffles Claire's bright red hair. "If you say so, big gal. With the Boss gone, you're the closest thing to a strategist we've got. As far as I'm concerned, you're calling the shots. Just point us in the right direction."

Claire scowls as she smoothes her hair out. "O-okay, well, umm, based on the intel we got from those suits last week, I think our best bet to keep on Spider's tail is to hit the Dirty Dogs biker club. They've got a clubhouse on the edge of town they use as a hub for their drug runs north. We have three objectives: One, put the boots to them. The fewer gangbangers Spider has to send at us, the better. Two, find more intel on Spider. He's covered his trail well, but if we pick at enough loose threads, we'll find him eventually. Three, loot whatever "assets" we can find. You need cash to fuel a war, after all."

"Sounds good to me," Angela says. "I'll head out there and see what I can see. The rest of you, get your shit packed up, and be ready to kill or be killed by tomorrow night."

Caphound scoffs at the notion of her needing to pack anything. She'd spent most of her life never owning anything she couldn't carry in a bag, including the past year or two. Her sister—the lifeless expression of rage on Jacketwolf's face comes to her mind unbidden, and she matches her mask's snarl—took better to the life the Boss gave them.

She wonders if that will ever not feel like a knife being thrust in under her ribs and ripped down. She hopes not. She needs pain in her life. It gives her what she needs.

He was listening, in his own way, as could be discerned from his occasional glance up and nod. Solomon sinks into the uncomfortable confines of the scratched-up couch he's currently occupying. His limbs are stretched out over the yellowed pillows, like the tentacles of an angry, muscled octopus. His gaze is empty, lost somewhere away from this earth. Without the gang tattoos and the busted nose, he would've almost looked docile. But the gang knows him, and the only thing that comes to mind when looking is a domesticated dog with rabies. A hand, the one with bandaged knuckles, brings a warm beer up to his mouth. A gulp, a frown, but he keeps drinking. He shifts a bit when Angela pipes up. Goes back to staring at nothing when Claire takes the reigns back. Angela's last phrase, with all its seriousness, gets a mid-sip chuckle out of him, which turns into a choking and coughing, which turns into beer and foam shooting out of his nose. Solomon sets his bottle on the floor, cracks a smile, then cracks his knuckles.

Now, the gasmask-wearing merc was sliding rifle rounds into a magazine, one by one, performing another gear check almost compulsively. Finally, he places the now full mag into one of of the many pockets of his tactical vest, and lets out a chuckle. "At least the objective is simple enough. Let's do this one without taking unnecessary risks. We can always replace gear, the same can't be said about people."

Claire wanted info & Tobias as been casing the place for the past week. Angela was on her way & Claire was probably briefing the team so now was as good as a time to start finding & "re-acquiring" the assets the Dirty Dogs have. "Lets just hope I don't get caught too quickly now..."

He tenses up when he realizes how dumb that sounded.

The young man wasn't sure what else to say. For a moment he wanted to pretend he didn't even speak and just hide in a corner but Alan stood his ground.

"I'm not really sure what to say, but you seem like the type of person who won't just take that lying down. I know you'll feel better if you give it time and kill a few people that probably don't deserve it."

He slumps slightly before catching himself and defaulting on what he knows best.

"Also there's plenty of ways to prepare junkfood like noodles with a few extra ingredients. Scallions and Eggs gives it some good flavor without overpowering the broth. If you want something non perishable a bit of curry powder and dried chickpeas is pretty good. There's also this gross recipe with peanut butter which I hear is good but just sounds off to me."

"I know it isn't worthy much but if you want I'd love to cook for you, and everybody really. I wanted to before but everybody split up and I got distracted."

Irving was half paying attention to the brief; his thoughts more focused on figuring out the whereabouts of the closest place to get a drink, just in case.
Honestly, it was a miracle that he'd managed to get picked up by the Boss' crew only a few days ago after being kicked out of his own home by his no-good rotten bitch of a wife. Sure he had a mild addiction problem and admittedly there was the whole mercenary thing that was causing a bit of strain on the relationship, but whatever happened to "in sickness and in health until death do us part"?

The Dirty Dogs are infamous throughout town for gun running and meth transport. If you need something hot taken north up the coast, no questions asked, and if you've got the cash to afford them, the Dogs are the ones you call. They have a clubhouse out on the edge of town, in between the slums of Snake River and the derelict farmhouses of Gatortown. The place is part storehouse, part motorcycle garage, and part drinking hole, notorious for brawls, drugs, gambling, and as a high-risk, high-reward destination for the more adventurous or desperate among Heat City's ladies of the night.

It's one of these ladies who, with a sufficient bribe, reveals everything she knows about where the Dogs keep their stashes of drugs, guns, and cash. Another bribe to a clerk at the county zoning office provides a blueprint to the building, no questions asked; and a third to a maintenance man provides an uplink to the main bar's security camera. Angela stakes out the place for a couple hours around twilight, and gives the go-ahead for the job later that night.

"Okay, I'm in!" Claire's voice fizzles with a burst of static over the walkie-talkies carried by each entry team. One can imagine her at her small, cramped office at HCPD dispatch, squinting intently at a fuzzy image on a computer monitor. "I can see the fellas in the bar now. Looks like a quiet night, nobody's punching or kicking each other. Yet. I've got the radio scrambler ready to go when stuff gets heavy, should delay the response long enough for you guys to get in and out without any major issues from our boys in blue. No promises though."

A bright half-moon shines in the sky overhead, and a warm breeze ruffles the grass, as the gang parks their cars and vans down the road to take the rest of the journey on foot. The night-time chorus of frogs and crickets is gradually overpowered by the sounds of hoarse shouting, carousing, and bar rock, as the destination draws nearer. The clubhouse is surrounded by a heavy chain-link fence, but a set of heavy cutters for each entry squad snips a hole without too much trouble. After a final weapons check, the teams file into the grassy lot of the clubhouse. Still no alarm. They should be able to get right up to the club without being noticed -- assuming nobody is keeping watch.

Squad 1 is getting into position when a side door nearby slams open. For a moment everybody tenses, and fingers tighten on triggers -- but the man who steps outside is obviously drunk, but the way he staggers and weaves. He makes his way outside the light, unzips, and begins to piss a stream against the brick wall, sighing with relief, too wasted to notice anything amiss just yet.

No sense in waiting around until this guy looks around and spots the seven heavily armed gangsters nearby, or somebody else checks an external security camera. Time to kick ass.

The night starts with a bang. Two bangs, actually. Even if the bikers are somehow able to fight off the gang, their precious bikes are going to need some serious maintenance. Entry's shotgun is able to damage, but not destroy, the brick wall; someone right next to it could see through it well enough to shoot through the holes, but it'll take another round of shotgunning before it's properly destroyed. Most of the rest of the gang stays outside, weapons ready for whoever's dumb enough to open those doors.

Marie that's really not how that works. Raven/The QM doesn't like people changing their action especially so long after their post. SOMETIMES he'll let people correct their movement if they mess up the directions but It's unlikely he'll let you just change it.

If you want to want to try to understand everybody's thought process better you might want to join the discord. Some of us sometimes plan or at least say what we're planning on doing as well as correct each other when some rules aren't interpreted correctly.

Irving cackles with glee as he drives the little kamikaze Honda Civic into the crowd of biker brutes to finish off any that were still possibly alive after Ramirez's fragging.

There's a lot about this turn we're confused about. I'm not trying to scold you because you're clearly trying and I can see what you were trying to do, but there's so much wrong with the execution that Raven isn't going to correct it this time. You moved 11 spaces in one action. With your move of 5, you can move 5 spaces per AP you spend, and you get 3 of that a turn. You should note what you're spending in AP and/or Edge to do an action like you did in your first turn >>4388892, if only to make it easier for yourself to understand. Technically, everything up to the react is legal based on corrected move (All of us make movement typos every now and then so that's not a big deal.) I'm also confused about where you're getting 10d10 to attack from? With melee weapons or point blank gunfire you roll two and take higher, and for most other actions only 1d10. No need to apologize, our little group is doing pretty well so if there was any time to make mistakes it would be now. Could you explain that final 3S move? It bumps you into the wall, and while you're still in range to flash step to the Mohawk from there, it's nonetheless very strange since just stopping would let you spend one less AP and therefore one less edge, to preform your additional actions.

Yeah, that's what I suspected. It's a weirdly common mistake, don't worry. I assume you were trying to get adjacent to the mohawk? Flash Step for you can be triggered from 5 tiles out (and technically lets you cheat and move 6 tiles dependent on what's "behind" them) so use that to your advantage since it'll let you save on AP for movement. What I think is going to happen is your original action is going to go until you hit the wall there which will end your turn, with your Edge intact. This isn't the worst since that room is good and cleared and it puts you in a strong spot to engage the next southern room.

The young psycho was hungry. For the first time in a very long time he wasn't sure he could control the impulses he always pushes down. He wanted to kill, to maim, to feel flesh and bone shear from a human body and he knew full well it wasn't because he was angry or hurt.
