Was Vince Russo working for McMahon all along and deliberately trying to kill WCW? Or was he just a shoot retard who did it accidentally?
>>
nah he just honestly didn’t see how this was a bad look because in real life he *isn’t* the type of guy to cower to goldberg. he would get in his face in an argument. he should’ve realized the marks at home couldn’t comprehend this, comprehend being a man and it alienated them. they think it’s not feasible to argue with someone bigger than you. the dude was shoot ballsy, though. this is a guy who got bumped up from writing raw magazine online to being on the creative team and within a year he sent cornette to OVW. he had guts man.

There was a video of Russo before he left for the wcw that I saw where he was very soft spoken and maintained a different demeanor.

It's possible he left and embodied the shock jock gimmick similar to vince's devil boss gimmick, or he could have been paid to do off to torpedo the brand.

I'm gonna guess he just tried and failed on an already sinking ship

What a mentally ill mark. Someone remind him he's never worked for legitimate company and he's a mark with a mic. IMAGINE watching wrestling every waking moment of your life.
>>
Also, IMAGINE getting worked by someone's wrestling persona 21 years later.
>>
Vince McMahon is great at filtering out other people's terrible ideas but terrible at filtering his own bad ideas. That's why everyone seems competent at WWE and terrible in their own.
Russo wasn't working with Vin to take down WCW he just had way too many stupid ideas and no one to tell him no.

I love it when you marks can't argue with logic and facts and data so you pull out the memes. Maybe that's why you still watch wrestling in the current year.

>>149002

Headcanon? Everything I say can be backed up with facts and data, not dirtsheet mark bullshit. I forget you guys can't think for yourselves, maybe go ask Magoo for another opinion.

Bischoff killed WCW not Russo. Bischoff uses Russo as a scapegoat. In reality Bischoff killed it because he thought having all these huge expensive contracts would be a good idea
>>
>>148988

Lol what a cope. Imagine if the a company’s Twitter page started posting porn and the sales of their product began to sink. “BUH BUH BUT MY TWITTER PAGE IS ON FIRE! IM NOT IN SALES! NOT MY PROBLEM!” What a sloppy way of thinking
>>
>>149014

I know it's hard for you to believe, but back then the wrestlers actually had input on their characters so they weren't all vanilla midgets with the same character like now.
>>
>>148969
The state of this cope. Nobody thinks Russo is a retard because of his on screen character. They think he's a retard because he thought it was a good idea to do a bunch of worked shoot booking for sheet readers
>>
>>149019

>memes

I know you don't have a job so don't understand what it means to get paid to do a specific job.
>>
>>148985
Foley retired in early 2000. SCSA and the Rock had their hottest years from 1998 and 2000 and then both left by 2003 at which point the wrestling boom cooled down. They were still pulling in high house show attendances and buyrates into 2002.
Unironically thinking that Vince Russo coming up with Val Venis was the reason why there was a wrestling boom is SHOOT DANG RETARDED. GET AN IQ TEST SON.
>>
>>148974
>Vince McMahon: billionaire making record profit
>Vince Russo: still begging for a job from Vince McMahon
>>
>>149021
I know you want to straw man but saying someone is writing characters for people and then quickly saying "they had input" when they literally say the ideas were their's is distilled faggotry.
>>
>>148988
This screenshot is meaningless, the Rock puts over everyone.
Russo's role in creating the Rock was minimal. In the end all he was doing was contributing to a script also written by others and then edited down by McMahon, before being read out by a strong roster towards which Russo had little impact upon.
>>
>>148997
Was he contracted to produce 80k PPV buys and to have half-full buildings? Because he was amazing at that.
>>
>>149029
Holy finna cope! If your performance is effecting other branches performance you ain’t doing your job well! He ain’t getting work today because everyone knows Russo is a shitter
>>
>>148961

He watches wrestling and talks about it. So does Russo. The difference is that Alvarez makes more money doing it than Russo does. And I notice you didn't actually attempt to argue any of the points he made.

So, all the characters from top to bottom wrote for themselves?
Why did Vinnie Mac even hire writers then? Did he just feel chartable?
No one has been as successful as Russo since and you can't handle it.

>>149044

I forgot you were sitting in the meetings, my mistake.
If Vinnie Mac is such a great filter can you please explain why the ratings have gone down every week near enough with fail for near 20 years now? I'm looking forward to the mental gymnastics you produce for this one.

>>149055

Do you think I actually watched that clip? I can hear you marks talk about wrestling I don't need to hear an ageing loser do it too.
Nothing he says has any merit, he wasn't there and he's just another dweeb with an obsession with fake fighting but unfortunately has an avenue to spew his shit to all the fat marks and you eat it up.

>>149046

Yeah, you're right, can you show me one other writer or booker who has been as successful in bringing eyeballs to the product since Russo got out of the game?
>>
>>149081
>Do you think I actually watched that clip?
concession accepted
>>
>>149099

You're absolutely right. Some mark with a podcast who's never worked for a legitimate wrestling company, doesn't understand the inner workings is right over people who were actually there at the time...

I'm surprised he didn't bury his head in the sand after refusing to do the Starrcast debate with Bischoff, but after seeing how well Eric buried that RD mark and absolutely obliterated that mark bible book it's no surprise really.
>>
>>149118
What are you rambling on about, you weirdo? If you don't know what he said, how do you know he was wrong?
>>
>>149055
no the difference is russo worked in every major company, drew the highest rating, was vince right hand man for 3 years while alvarez is just a mark posing as wrestling journalist with the king of marks dave meltzer
>>
>>149136
ha king of marks i like it
>>
>>149132

I've heard enough of his rants to know exactly what he said. He's just another mark with a platform, they are all the same.
>>
>>149136
>drew the highest rating
kek no he didn't, you mark
>>
>>149150
So you can't actually dispute any of the points he made about how incredibly stupid that angle was? And presumably you can't dispute that the PPV the angle built towards did atrocious business? OK, I shall once again accept your concession.
>>
>>149162

Why would his points hold any water? Can you explain that.
>>
>>149192
Why wouldn't they? Because he didn't work there? Russo hasn't worked in WWE for years but he still talks about them all the time, and you still send him your money for it, Russosimp.
>>
>>149237

He wasn't there, he never worked for WCW would be two right from the start.
Difference is, Russo has worked for all the major companies and understands the inner workings whilst dirtsheet marks have never done such a thing.
>>
>>147956
Russo didn't just kill WCW, he killed wrestling itself. He blew it all up by revealing to everybody that it's fake without a shadow of a doubt, hotshotting angles, hotshotting titles, making DQs a regular thing on television. Russo has done irreparable damage to this once great sport, and all of the talent in the world couldn't convince the chads to come back.
>>
>>149241
How does a guy who hasn't worked in any company for years know about the inner workings of current wrestling, you sperg?
>>
>>149152

>>
>>149256

You know a lot of people Russo worked with are still there, right? He's got actual intel, not Heyman trying to get himself over.

>>149247

This is new level of cope. Success apparently kills a business?
>>
>>148974
You didn't read fag. I said he's own ideas can be terrible too. He needs a Russo who has 1 good idea for every 3 terrible ones
>>
>>149260
>drew the highest rating for wwe
objectively untrue
>drew the highest rating for tna
that's like being the healthiest guy with AIDS
>>
>>149269
It does if you have too much of it. Throwing away long term booking just so you can "shock" your audience every week is a great way to kill your show. Eventually they will become desensitized to the shock value and will move onto something else, considering wrestling to be boring, similar to how a junkie views being sober. So while it seems like you're winning for those first few years, eventually you'll run into a 2001 where no one cares anymore no matter what you do.
>>
>>149247

The Chads left because of the vanilla midgets spot monkeys hogging up the television time you absolutely sperging retard. No one apart of braindead marks want to watch 25+ matches with no storyline behind it.

>>149278

So you're essentially saying no one could follow up on Russo as they weren't talented enough to do so?
I forgot every show on television has to be boring tripe in case they pop a rating.
>>
>>149278
Don't try and reason with Russofags. They believe that popping a rating is all that matters. Even if you had to give away your PPV main event to do it.
>>
>>149192
Why don't you watch it and explain where he is wrong? Answer: because you can't, because he isn't.
>>
>>149289

The television industry is built on how many people are watching or are you too stupid to realise that? That's how they sell ad space and how they make money.
>>
>>149296

He's wrong by default because he wasn't involved and has never been involved so nothing he says holds any water. You're a mark if you actually listen to these dirtsheet retards.
>>
>>149301
This is painfully retarded. Under your logic, every journalist is automatically wrong, even if what they're reporting is factually accurate. Only people who had made films, could review films.
>>
>>149337

>journalist

A dirtsheet writer is not a journalist.

Difference is, when you read a review of a film as such you're taking that persons opinion and liable to make your own opinion up after you've watched. You marks take what these dirtsheet writers say as gospel and run with it and will try to bury everyone that doesn't agree with their uninformed viewpoint.
Russo was there, Alvarez wasn't. Alvarez can have his own opinion but he sells it like what he's saying is factually correct when it never is.
That's the biggest issue with dirtsheet writers, they report everything as FACT when you can poke holes in it for hours, if they started everything with "in my opinion" then I doubt many people would have an issue.
>>
>>149356
This level of cope just to avoid admitting that Alvarez was right and that this angle was the shits. Embarrassing.
>>
>>149445

>logic
>cope

Now I know you're actually Alvarez.
>>
>>149605

>>
>>149646

I've listened to the accounts of people who were there, I have no need to listen to the opinion of a deluded mark who has a hatred for Russo because Russo stood for everything these dirtsheet marks hate: Entertainment.
>>
>>147956

I know for a fact Nash kept a couple of guys down by himself back in the day
>>

You guys have NOTHING on Russo but those things, yet we Russochads could pick holes in twenty years of shit ratings killing booking if we didn't tune out when you smarks killed the business.
>>
>>151288
Kek they did this in only the first week of Russo's Nitro. Buff Bagwell began a programme against "the writers" and complained about being asked to job. Two weeks later he then wins a match that he was "supposed" to job in. It's really cringe to watch.
>at the same time we'll still pretend the other matches are real.

>>
>>151390

You didn't explain at all, you went back to the same tired well.
What I'm asking is, how is anything Russo did for the five seconds he was in WCW any different to the AEW geeks YouTube fourth wall breaking tripe that bleeds into AEW's show, and the whole show is twinks doing flips that don't look anything like fighting - isn't that the point of wrestling, to suspend your disbelief?

Nigga do you understand that someone needs to write shit for them? Wrestling would have never experienced the boom if it just had guys wrestling and cutting promos. Undertaker kidnapping Austin from hospital trying to embalm him? Austin saving Stephanie from Taker trying to sacrifice her? Rock throwing Austin over a bridge? Mick Foley at hospital visiting McMahon with Socko and Austin attacking him with bedpan? That was all Russo and big reason why even non wrestling fans got hooked.
>>
