Day 150 to gothis was the hardest thing I've ever done mentally, since all I've done is work and fold cranes for two weeks. During the folding I listened to Dune and a bunch of podcasts. I can't share this with anyone IRL because they would think I'm insane because I am, good luck on your respective journeys to 1,000. Well, I think it's time I get around to starting mine. Paper should be here by the end of the week, and I decided to go with patterned paper instead of the usual rainbow, so we'll have to wait and see how it all looks complete. I sometimes fold giant cranes as you can see here >>617867 and I just wanted to showcase some pictures of them. Here's a picture of what it looks like before the folding. Each paper is 6 x 6 inches and for each giant crane, I do a layout of 6 x 6 papers which ultimately makes a 3 x 3 foot square. I just tape each little piece of paper together to make these behemoths.I will not be counting these giant cranes towards the 1000 though they would certainly help boost my numbers. I hope I won't be regretting this statement.
And one day, I decided that a 6 x 6 paper-sized crane wasn't big enough so I decided to do a 10 x 10 paper-sized crane to make for a whopping 5 x 5 foot sized square.

Felt inspired by the dude that did the 1000 cranes in 15 days so I tried to do as much as I could in 24 hours. I ended up doing 87 cranes. Adding that with my main batch I have a grand total of 224/1000 cranes right now. If I count the giant cranes I previously have made I would have ~500 cranes.

500/100. Halfway there. I posed the cranes next to Yotusbua because you did the same and because I think it's appropriate. Yotsuba is such an old manga and chapters come out at a snail's pace... much like making 1000 cranes. And I just finished episode 9. It was really nice to go back to Nana's dilemma with wanting to repeat time again and again. And it becomes more understanding now that we better know what happens in Starlight at the end. I hope this doesn't sound morbid or anything but I do hope that Karen and Hikari become separated at the end like in Starlight. But it probably won't I'm guessing. My estimate is that it'll take somewhere to the tune of 50-60 hours to finish all 1000. It depends a lot on how nice looking you want them to be. The biggest thing I've learnt from the surface level origami I've done is that it is effort in vs effort out. Folding itself is (generally) very simple, but getting as close as possible to the perfect fold takes some patience. I'm not planning on keeping the cranes once I'm finished, so I'm not focused too much on getting super crisp folds.
