Saw a super round and nice amanita on my way home today, went back with the d700 because my fe2 was loaded with black n white which would have been a squander of the beautiful colours.

Parasol mushroom is it's English name. I always eat it's ring, then leave it. It's perfectly edible, but nobody likes them at home. Very watery, can't be stored for long, but if you find closed ones, you can pick them with stem, leave them in a glass of water, and they'll open. Only mushrooms that I know that do this. Rings and those flaky spots have delicious taste even raw.
