Took 350 shots at an indoor car show with about 100 good ones. Realizing after, I had a real bad problem with noise. Any way to combat this? Or is bound to happen in low light with a crop sensor?

If freezing those people doesn't matter too much, lower shutter speed a bit, especially if lens is stabilized (it's the kit zoom?).
If freezing those people (and they are all walking around all the time) does matter, it really can't be helped with this particular setup. Maybe flash, but imo built-in forward facing fill flash always ends up making lighting look weird and so noise is preferable by default.

Having all the people in the back did make it slightly annoying because I didn't want them to look blurry from movement (rather than out of focus). I tried lower shutter speeds but I couldn't hold it still enough for a perfectly focused photo. I was there with a couple friends so I didn't want them to wait too long for me to fuck around with my camera the whole time lol.

I also tried my 50mm and a used 55-250 I just picked up right before the show.

You could use flash, also i assume you are using the kit lens? That has stabilization, you could use much lower shutter speed. No need for 1/200 unless you want to freeze human beings, you can use 1/25 easy, which would be one eight of your iso (so instead of 6400 it would be 800)

Yea most were on the kit lens. I maybe something was wrong with the setting I was changing because it felt like anything lower than 1/200 was staying open for a full second or two causing all the blurriness and unusable photos. I had to of been doing something wrong with the manual mode.

You could have shot everything at 1/50 or 1/60 just fine and used ISO 1600.

If you wanted zero motion blur in the background you should have gone with full frame for the high ISO performance. Like a cheap D800 or something. Full frame is the king of flashless indoor shooting unless you like spending almost $2000 on latest gen APS-C bodies.

Appreciate the criticism. It was 1/60 since I thought increasing the ISO any higher would cause too much grain, and I was already wide open. Just bad lighting. How would you improve the composition and editing?

Unrelated to composition but you should almost always bump ISO before reducing shutter speed too much. Better to have a grainy/noisy image that is sharp than a blurry image.

Don't use full program or aperture priority modes for wildlife. Use manual with auto ISO or shutter priority with auto ISO

Is intuitive. The rule of thirds, chiaroscuro, and stuff can get you started but looking at paintings will get you going.

Some motion blur in a hummingbird's wings is great so don't go too high on the shutter speed, but 1/60 is too long of an exposure time here. The whole subject shouldn't be displaying motion blur so take some added noise over that any day.

As far as composition goes there wasn't too much you could do and I think you did the best with what you had (it's not like you have much time with birds) and it just isn't in focus. I do see 2 excellent leading lines for a horizontal shot though, to draw the eye to the subject. A 105mm would have done wonders.
