Sounds like something that only works in hipster placements inside only a handful of cities. Aka expensive as shit rent, with a highly limited customer base.Where are you gonna get the books? Buy'em all? That's very expensive, too.

without uncle terry, all his fans would no longer be sleazes with aspirations. they would just be sleazes
>>4015837you really want us to believe that all of these fine folks:https://archive.wakarimasen.moe/p/thread/3995815/#3996803are all sleazy pervs????????cum on m8.
>>4015786toys r us went out of business
>>4015888regardless of anything else, it’s clear that Terry has a lot of personal charisma and charm
>>4015786Better do it online then rather than an actual bookstore, it's a very niche market if you're just going for phonebooks. Usually these are sold by the artist / exhibition or maybe at your local photographer store.
>>4015960what about mail order lists like in the late 80's/90's
>>4016304The funeral industry which is one of the most backwards industries where people are stuck visiting it in person has even been dragged kicking and screaming to internet. Mail order lists are a product of their time.
>>4016304>>4016311newsletters are back but nobody’s buying anything from them
>>4015786There's one that has opened recently in my city (albeit the very centre of the hipster part)https://unitom.co.uk/it's actually incredible, great choice, good staff, I bought an Araki book from there. They have a good mix of local artists and publications to mainstream ones like Taschen, but you can't only do photobooks, branch into art/graphic design etc.
>>4015786Go visit NYC and go to Dashwood Books on Bond St. I don’t know how they stay open but I’m glad they’re there
>>4016383because they fucking overcharge the fuck out of rich art kids. That bitch Mia was trying to sell a chantel ackerman book thats 20 bucks for 40 the mark up is real
>>4016763Independent bookshops with storefronts can’t charge Amazon prices and stay in business
>>4015786There is a very popular one called Perimeter Books in Melbourne, Australia. Copy their marketing I guess.
>>4016765They can, they just also have to have an online presence.
>>4016825no they deff overcharge because it's hip to buy from there
>>4017656seems like good business tbdesu
>>4017659i know its you stop it
>>4015786can you open an ebay?

would make more sense for it to be a part of some hipster store already and have it mainly running as a online store that works with suppliers.
>>4015786>Would people even buy?no, it's an extremely small audience although most of them loyal>What would be the costs associated?High, those books costs a lot and need to be in very dry conditions to avoid caking.Photobook place is very niche, if you do it then it should be very small and near places of study like colleges or art schools.
>>4021197It is murder what some university book stores charge

>>4015786what about books for kindel
the overhead is just too much these days.

>>4015786Photobook Cafe in London is an example of a good business like this.Cafe, sells photobooks, photobook and zine library and they host events like book launches.
I suppose OP might be better off becoming a small publisher that distributes their own stuff as well as sells other people things. Eg. Donlon Books.
>>4015786just slang books through craigslist?
>>4015786Is Fight Club is a rip off of Persona?
>>4043926always has been.
>>4040188>LondonThat's a big market there, you can make almost anything and it will stick as long as it has a parking space and you are not charging triple
