First reel of film, I fucked it for the most part. Would like some feedback on how to improve shots and what not. Bulb on my flash blew halfway through while I was down in London.
Let’s get to it.

Like this one, is it the whole combination of the light/sky and shutter speed as to why the subject isn’t clear.

Also don’t quite know why this on came out blurry. From what I remember I had flash on and the shutter speed was 60, assuming that was too low for the distance and lighting situation?

So that wraps it up for the first reel, be harsh be whatever just looking for some explanations and ways to improve in general. I think the flash going halfway through really fucked me. Plus the manual aperture blades on the primary lens seemed to become very temperamental halfway through too, not always allowing me to manually control the exposure levels before shooting (the blades wouldn’t physically move). All shot on a Praktika Nova II
>>
I'm going through my first roll as well, so I have no suggestions.

your focus is consistently behind on these two. everything is looking correct through the focusing prism?
>>

Hope they turn out well mate! Regardless Of how these came out I had a fun shooting them all.

Thanks for the feedback, we were on the bus stopped at lights and I just thought it would look good.

Pretty much all you need as far as focus goes just find any straight line in you subject and move the focus ring until its straight.

I love a good portion of these OP, my advice is to sloooowww down. Some of these are blurry because your shutter speed was slow and your hands were too fast, some of these are that off black color because your shutter speed was too fast for a proper exposure and you had to take the shot handheld. My advice is to take a deep breath in and exhale slowly as you steady yourself, balance the composition and take the shot. Pay attention to the framelines and how you frame the shot you wanna take. Take into account the lines of your composition and make sure everything is nice and straight or at the desired angle. The focusing seems to be off consistently, but I suppose slowing down and pay attention would fix that too.

Have a photo of mine in exchange for listening to my monologue. It's nothing special but I like it, maybe you will too.

I will take that advice into account on the next lot. You’re spot on with some of it being rushed though, thinking more about getting the shot than the actual shot. Wonderful photo as well!

Praktica NOVA II
Made from 1984 - 1986. Oh god, yeah they're using these things for "LOMO" in Europe. I even found one for $40.00. (Ecch!) Cut your losses and pick up a nice used digital SLR and some good editing software. Then, you can make EVERYTHING look "film." They're getting cheaper on the used market, all the time.
These film guys go nuts over this shit but, in reality, the first thing they do with a film picture is DIGITIZE it, to send out. Cut your losses on film and developing. Above all else, don't stop shooting. Go out every day. It actually starts to become MORE fun after a while. I'm heading to a state park right now. Sunny and 70 degrees? See ya later.
>>
I'm waiting on my first roll getting scanned. If they didnt get lost in the post and this thread is still alive when I get them I'll dump a few. Keep going anon I dig the train pic
>>
>>3945672
>>3945660
Your focus is behind your subject, so you just focused wrong. What gear are you using? Depending on the viewfinder it should be hard to accidentally fuck up the focus. If you want a more forgiving focus range, shoot at a higher aperture
>>
thank you for posting these, I'm on my first roll right now I can't wait to get them developed to see how they turned out.
>>
>>3945649
Movie film is on reels.
Still photo film is on rolls.

I think you need better scans jfc those looks awful.
