It always blows my mind when I see photographers (or """photographers""") trusting their whole rig to a fucking strap, and while lens down as well.

This is a field for people who make money. It's an expensive industry. Pros want shit to look good, and people want to look good, so pros pay out the ass for gear that makes their subjects look good. Because of that, it's also an expensive hobby. Artists want to make shit that looks good too, people are willing to pay for it. If you can't, too bad, banklet. Find a cheaper hobby.

Half the kids at the grocery store I go to own at least 3 90s Jap shitboxes each, you don't have to be rich to collect and fuck with cars.
>>
>>3939173
Whatever money people are spending on cars is going to be well over the cost of whatever camera "kit" you're assembling, unless you're getting into medium format digital or using very long prime telephotos. The "kids" you're referencing is equivalent to saying photography is cheap if you buy an entry level d-slr with the kit lens and a $30 tripod. I'm talking about people who own high end sports cars that they fuck around with on tracks, as well as DD'ing one or two other rides.

Lol no, my job isn't going anywhere, that shit is a liberal pipe-dream. By the time automation does come for my job I'll be playing Super Mario Kart in a retirement home with the bros. Trains and planes have been automated for 50 or more years now and they still have pilots and engineers.

>Dey're guna turk yer jerrrrb

When one of those automated trucks can make it through New York City and do a delivery in the Bronx without hitting anything, then I'll be worried.

My short routes are actually the most profitable because they have a minimum amount they have to pay the driver regardless of distance.

>mfw got paid 550 dollars for a 3 mile load

Face it, you can't win poorfags. Even if this whole automation shit actually takes off, I'll be in a position to buy the trucks (bought that one already) so I'll just go from a driver to a load broker. Realistically, the first time one of those automated trucks slams into a school bus full of children it's going to be curtains for that shit, they can't even keep OnGuard from picking up bridges and slamming my brakes for no reason, keep dreaming basement dwellers.
>>
>>3940514
Rake my load babe, ur gonna need a second trailer
>>
The reality, is that there is entirely too much liability in trucking for automation to take off any time soon. I carry 2 million in cargo insurance alone, not even counting shit like bodily injury and PIP and other shit.

There are way too many people in the private sector and in government on the dole to let that revenue stream slip away, DOT has their hands out at the end of every month to make their revenue quotas which is why all the weigh stations are perpetually open in the last couple of weeks of every month. "safety checks" are nothing more than revenue roundups. Don't even get me started on states like Ohio and Virginia.
>>
>>3940515

You'll have to give me a couple days to acquire an oversize permit and re-up my doubles and triples endorsement, big boy.

the futurist eco fags will never understand the reality of industry and the way this country's infrastructure actually works. instead they fantasize about total replacement of drivers and even gas vehicles because they are completely incapable of comprehending the scale of that substitution, as well as the lack of technological foundation for it to be something that will happen anytime soon.
