what's the difference between the VQ-1005 and the VQ-2005?

I have used photowarehouse to get a dvd and they are pretty reputable, though $40 is quite a lot for a dsg camera.

I found a VQ-1005 but I have never used this site, have you tried checking goodwill online store every day/week?
>>
>>3919039
what mavica is this and what settings did you use, it’s beautiful.
>>
>>3919225
from what I'm looking at it seems it's just the amount of megapixels that's the difference (1.3 vs 2.0). looks to be the same lens seems like a good alternative albeit somewhat expensive for what I would be getting lol. as for goodwill I haven't looked but I will keep an eye out.

on another note, I did manage to find a different vistaquest camera on ebay for only five bucks. seems to have a lens with the same f stop although I'm not sure if it's the same focal length. it also seems to have the same sensor so I might just get one to try it out and see if it produces similar images
https://www.ebay.com/itm/361352786943
>>
>>3919241
thanks, it's the mavica fd7, it doesn't really have any settings except standard and fine photo quality, i use standard, and field/frame mode, i use field

what should i look for in a digishit for this kind of look? love these shots btw. i have been toying with the idea of getting a canon g15 or something but something more shit sounds more fun
>>
>>3919337
Back in the day, digishit threads kind of just used to be "go shoot with whatever old piece of shit you find in your drawers", so anything goes, really.

If you're looking for specific cameras to try to caputre the feel of the first 5 photos you tagged, I'd go with any of the Mavicas, but if you don't want to go through the pain of buying floppy disks/usb floppy drives etc., just look for cameras with CCD sensors from the 00s.

I can vouch for Minolta Dimage XT, Samsung Digimax 430, and Canon Powershot G5 (the old one), I've gotten some pretty cool shots with them throughout the years.

Another thing I'd look out for when buying a camera from the 00s is the storage type, since some cameras from this era can have more obscure storage types like Sony Memory Stick Pro and Compact Flash, you'd have to buy an adapter along with the camera.
>>
I've posted this one in the 'flower' thread but I think it belongs here as well.

Also look at the power situation: AA is always easy (except when 1.2V from NiMH's is too low) else you will probably need a new battery AND the cradle to charge it.
A 5$/Euro camera is not cheap if you need to buy a cradle for it.

I don't get it, a day before WTC was demolished in the US either for being golems or to get into wars in the middle east as golems, what has that anything to do with Spain and Germany who were completely foreign from any middle east conflict?
They didn't get hit any infrastructure hit before neither get bullied with the infamous tapes until they decided to go in by NATO orders, but of course some people wouldn't remember back then Europe was safe other than the balkans and England.

digishit will inevitably become the new analog but when? 2030s?
>>
>>3919996
it's already started
I've seen videos pop up recently on YouTube about the old Ricoh GR Digital range, and how they apparently have apparently very impressive black/white rendering. The 2005-2011 line of GR is really gaining popularity. And for all intents and purposes these are digishits with their 1/1.8 inch sensor, albeit with a fantastic prime lens.

which grd is the one to get?
>>
>>3920023
you'll get a lot of different opinions on this
I think most people will tell you that you should stay away from the first one if you can. but then again I've seen this one dude who specifically searched out the grd1.
if you ask me it doesn't matter too much, the same way it doesn't really matter what 35mm camera to get. for most people the answer is; the one you can get your hands on.
>>
>>3920025
is there a clear choice when it comes to usage? my impulse is to look at the grd iv as the last (the "best") or the grd1 (the original, perhaps the most collectable). also what do normies call digishit?
>>
I'm kinda burnt out on film, what with developing and scanning myself, and then all the correcting and the constant needing to pay for film and chems etc. It all feels like 500% more work for 10% nicer photos.
Now I'm wondering, if you were in my boots and had a Pentax 67 + 2 lenses & a nikon f3hp + 35mm lens.. what would you sell it all for?

I shoot mostly fashion, so I need a wide lens, a 35mm prime and then something to cover up til maybe 100mm~ as i don't take a lot of super tight shots. I already own a D750 which is ok but my real crux is getting equally appealing shots out of my dslr as opposed to my film shots. I think my post-processing needs work but I'm sure there are youtube vids out there. As far as the d750 goes it's fine but misses AF at times, but if I could throw that + my tamron 24-70mm + tamron 90mm macro into that.. that's a lot of potential money I could invest into 1 system that will do everything I need. I don't necessarily care if something is mirrorless or not I just want a solid system that will have access to great lenses and give me phenomenal results.

digishit is for early 2000's digital point and shoots. you may have better luck at /gear/ or /fag/
>>
>>3920028
I've not used the GRD line, just the modern APS-C Ricohs, so I wouldn't know. But it would make sense to assume that the newest one should be the best in most regards.
The sensor size was slightly increased for the final two GRD models, and while the earlier models had a 2.4 aperture, the III and IV have 1.9.
I guess though the better the camera is, the less of that authentic 'digishit' look you get. But that's your call. All I'm sure of is that all of the GRD cameras will be too expensive to justify buying very soon.
>>
>>3920037
heard something once that the GRD1 is really just a jpg camera. writing raw files to the SD card takes 10+ seconds
>>
>>3920037
https://youtu.be/nASMlSwQ1ZI (GRD1 on the right)

there seems to be a pretty big gap between the first and the third, with the og being considerably noisier. its almost like the iii is too good to be considered digishit. and the normie word for digishit is digicams? this is all very exciting, although I can't tell if its the digicams or my urge to consoom.
>>
>>3920044
Consooming is considerably less decadent if you buy used stuff that would've been thrown away otherwise. From this video alone I like the GRD1 more. I'm pretty sure the GRD3 produces similar noise on a sensor level, just with 'better' software processing of the image, which comes at the cost of sharpness. So yeah, if I were in the market I'd get the 1st or 2nd gen. I also like the slightly over exposed look in high contrast B/W.
>>
>>3919924
I traveled by train soon after the Spain train bombing and no one felt uncomfortable or at least that was my perception but i guess you are right, planes and boats are much more nerve-inducing than land transportation.

>>3919996
Some hipsters already shoot sessions with old PnS, but only to other hipsters because they can't deliver big print sizes.
And like >>3920001 said hipsters love Ricoh GRs despite also being the usual shit eaters who diss on Pentax cameras that use the very same sensors and processors, although i don't recall how the old small sensor ones perform but i don't think they are better than Coolpix or Canon lines.
>>
>>3920085
>i don't think they are better than Coolpix or Canon lines
sensor wise they probably aren't. just like the modern GRs aren't better than other APS-C cameras from the same generation. actually afaik the GR II underperforms in dynamic range in comparison.
the appeal of the GR has always been the lens. the insane sharpness is just mindblowing. so much so that I add some gaussian blur to most of my photos because all the detail physically hurts my eyes sometimes.
>>
>>3920107
>all the detail physically hurts my eyes sometimes
That's a major digishit trademark, eye-hurting detail but back then it was due to digital sharpness and lack of dof.
It is interesting the GR keeps the spirit but perhaps using other methods.

The sensor size difference and aperture difference will be negligible. The only benefit to the newer models will be noise performance and image processing. I don't think you need to shoot raw with digishit cameras since you're using older tech that doesn't support sd cards larger than 2gb (in most cases). I've used the Ricoh GR Digital (2006) quite a lot shooting jpg. I shoot on P mode with spot metering on. I quite like their bw jpg setting. Saving a jpg to a transcend 2gb card doesn't take longer than a second or two iirc. It's not going to be as fast as the Ricoh GR apsc cameras in terms of operation or saving files. The biggest pro of the GR digitals is that they are able to be powered with 2 AAA batteries. You can get GR digital for around $100 if you look through ebay. Pretty sure the iii and iv go for double that.

the lens on the original 35mm GR was the same though. so sharp you could cut diamonds with the detail in the photos. so really the digital GRs are keeping the spirit of their film counterparts, if anything
>>
>>3920163
The one thing I'm missing with the new GR line is a faster aperture. 2.8 is okay, but the original GR1 also had 2.8, and that was 35mm. Shallower DOF. Also f/2 would be nice for night shots.
Don't know if they could keep it that sharp, though. Because with the current GR lens there is little sharpness to be gained from stopping down. It's just crisp at every aperture.
