>>3913361There were many miners in the 70s and even up through the 80s and 90s in eastern kentucky who destroyed machinery and shot out truck tires. Would be nice to have some pictures of that.
Finally got around to scanning a few more real quick. These are all unknown date and location.
>>3913037I love these op, so your father also inspected forestry operations as well?
>>3914610Anything that could effect air quality. He even had to write up homeowners who burned excessive trash.
>>3914621Neat, I hope he didn't have to visit places like the valley of the drums, despite not being around back then I still get jittery looking at pics of those old superfund sites[EXIF data available. Near a concrete plant on Lotts Creek in Perry County, Kentucky. Date is likely mid 70s. You can barely see the wrecked truck in the far left of the photo.
Now for some more completely unknown locations and dates.
Unknown processing facility.
Unknown saw mill.
What's this? Some hillbilly graffiti?
Beaver, KY Post Office - 8/14/1994
Cleaning porch, likely to remove dust from a nearby mine.
Unknown processing facility, likely late 80s or early 90s. This one is very surreal I feel.
Uknown railyard. B&O cars visible.
Anyone want some satellite service?
>>3915567An autist on facebook has started identifying some of these photos that are unknown with excruciating detail. God bless him.The quoted post's photo:>Cumberland-Elkhorn Coal & Coke at Combs, KY on the L&N's EK Subdivision. Location here was called "Lennut" which was just "Tunnel" spelled backwards. The Hazard Tunnel was just to the right in this picture so a pretty accurate assignment. This loadout replaced an older tipple here in 1985. First operations here were by the Daniel Boone Coal Company in 1926 which gave way to several different tipple designs over the years operated by at least 10 different operators. Adams Construction had a second little loadout just out of sight to the left during the 1980's as well but it was just a simple coal chute. Here's a ground level view from the 1990's just before it was removed.
>>3913037He strikes again!
Printed Dec 1993I'd really like to have that Volvo 240.
Unknown holler. Likely late 80s.

Whitaker Coal - 12/12/88
Plateau Fuels - 02/24/1987
Arch On The North Fork - 7/7/1989How often do you get to see L&N, C&O, CSX (near the loader), and Seaboard Systems cars all in one train? Really makes you internalize just how quickly CSX gobbled up so many operators in the 80s.
