boomers are cancer to photography, they all take the same pretentious, ultra processed, old people or misery. Bland and mediocre. They praise each other.

Most of the poverty porn being made nowadays isn't by boomers. Millennial and gen Z hipsters are the real threat.

hopefully they are dying or will die soon, they are lost, they don't understand shit

Just had a heartbreaking experience where a guy I was buying a pile of cameras from wound up being a masked sanpaku-eyed boomer with a Flickr full of gravestones and sunsets who was still teeling from the fact that he and Joyce couldn't make it to Ireland this year for their customary six weeks in the cottage.

What is it with the Overprocessed HDR and full saturation that boomers love?
Does it remind them of the cheap Kodak film of their youth?

Apparently anyone born in the 80s is a boomer to them, even if you're born in 1989.
Couldn't it be said that zoomers are cancer to photography when they consider a portrait to only be a picture of an attractive female, or how they praise every film photo as it's the best thing ever only because it's shot on film.

Or how they add 2 inch white borders to their snapshits to appear more artsy and pretend to add depth and thought to their average images?
>>
At least boomers still print big and present their shit in dusty rooms unlike pierced ultra-tattooed hipsters who make 10 minute videos to present 3 snapshits in 1080p.

I like saturation though, and I was born in 1995.
I remember the "tail end" of mainstream colour negative film and I always enjoyed the fact that the colours were so vivid.
I still enjoy the fact that the colours are very vivid, it's probably my favourite thing about colour negative film apart from the joys of film itself...

I don't try to emulate film with digital - I think that's a pointless exercise when you can just obtain and shoot actual film.
But I don't understand why the desaturated look is so popular right now. It just seems so... edgy for the sake of being edgy. Either that, or too many people noticed that their Sonys had shit colour science, so desaturate to hide that flaw in their gear.

They are the worst gear fags and nophotos out there, you can always count on a circle jerk involving boomers trying to alleivate the cognitive dissonance from their most recent purchases, that's all everything really is online and now that I think of it we are all dicks.

Pic was up on the rff classifieds recently and I liked it.

Boomers might sometimes have a bad eye, but the photoboomers I know are by and large very kind and generous dudes. I prefer their brand of gearfaggotry to the kind seen on /p/. The ones I know do not chase new gear nearly as much as the city-dwelling millennials who will pay two thousand dollars for a fucking point and shoot.

You ever meet boomer birders? Worst people on the planet.

This shit is just vile dude. Knock it off already, there's so much real stuff you could use to pick on her and you use the one that's made up. There's also tons of actual trannies shitting up the board and yet you pick on isi.
I say this as someone who used to parrot "trannies have no periods" on her threads.
Calling isi a tranny is a crutch.

>>
>>3899620
To be fair their idea of what makes photography interesting is probably informed by the people of their times, like Steve Curry who got famous for his Afghan Girl shot. It's kinda like how millennials and zoomers largely shoot "moody" city streets in rain or portraits with red and blue gels, or PNW landscapes. It's chasing clout, and being exposed to what's popular and having it affect how you shoot.

>>3900395
It's not hard to stay anonymous on an anonymous board. Some people have too much ego for that though.

That makes two of us. But desu getting good colors is easy on digital for me so that's not something I look to film for. What I do think film is good for personally is black and white. A pure monochrome film strip or sensor will always have superior output to a converted color shot, and with film you can just buy a roll or box instead of spending thousands on a monochrome digital camera.
