Who are your favorite contemporary photographers? The ones featured in art galleries and exhibitions, not instagram.
>>
I don't really have favorite photographers, but these are some of the ones that I consistently enjoy, which are contemporary:
Hiroshi Sugimoto
Shomei Tomatsu
Ben Zank

I think he shoots a bunch of different camera, I saw videos where he uses a canon SLR and I read somewhere where he explains how he took >>3865586 and I think it was on some nikon with a waist level finder.

but yes, I don't think I've ever seen a digital photo taken by him.
>>
>>3865582
modern artist using a camera, NOT a photographer (modern art is not art)
>>
>>3865899
waist finders don't work anymore, people are simply suspicious of cameras all the time. we live in a new global society of karens, and the only way to do street (parke is no photographer, I reiterate) is with exactly the one Samsung Galaxy S20, which alone permits in modernity street, and only fools post EXIF w/ street (karens, again).

Man, you just have the worst takes.

>>3866149
But you called him an artist, also photography doesn't have to be art and most of the time it isn't.
>>
>>3866157

Clyde Butcher, I've actually met the guy a few times. Really cool cat, got a solid crit from him years ago. If you start talking film development with him he won't shut up and I love it.

Once, a janitor, noticing a pile of trash, disposed of an art exhibit. Another time, a guy put a crucifix in pee (it was probably not even pee). Another time, a guy said he canned his poop and put it on display (it was probably not really poop). Another time, a guy went into a gallery and wrote "Epstein is a pedophile" on a wall, and was arrested for it, and the gallery govered it up with a sheet (a lot of jews buy that crap oy vey!)

What I am telling you is nothing you don't already know. Modern art isn't art, but the emty vestige, the spectical and routine without the deity within vivifying. It's a corps, a broken clock. It's the surface ants cleaning up the entrance to the mound, the queen is no more, within it's a grave.
>>
>>3869104
Why should I give a fuck about what's been happening in so called contemporary art world? And how much exhibitions you have went to? How many contemporary artists you know?
Anyway, I am on a photography forum. And photography is still well and alive.

Nah, photobooks have been getting published at highest rate in the history. This is where you will find the most sincere(of course along with many grifters) photographers working the field today.
