I assume most of you guys get at least some of your gear used, post your best scores so we can determine who is the deal champion
I get my stuff online, and finding good deals there is fucking brutal. Even Goodwill’s auction site is competitive.
Got a 85-205mm f/3.8 for $4.95 last November, with both caps, case, zoom lever and an UV filter.Case has minor scuffs but the strap hasn't broken, lens was mint.No pictures because I'm paranoid. I'm only sharing the details because I know the listing is gone from eBay's cache.

>>3852121>Got a 85-205mm f/3.8 for $4.95 last November, with both caps, case, zoom lever and an UV filter.I mean it's $15 lens, so congrats on saving $10 i guess?
>>3852125I'm only paranoid on the internet.>>3852128It was mint, with case and all accessories. It was also M42. And it was the version I wanted, black hood with red/white numbers. Those you posted don't have the cool case.
>>3852128This is very similar to the one I got, but apparently it's missing the little lever.

Got my first olympus XA for $3.90Sold it for $200 and got a nikon F3 with the profit
>>3852158based
>>3852161Best part is, i later won a $115 auction for an XA, XA2, Agfa Sensor Flash and a Holga 135I kept the XA, the XA2 is in a bag somewhere, i gotta sandblast and repaint the back and then sell it, and the Agfa and Holga sold for 80 dollars combined.
I posted this in the gear thread but I recently got a like-new sony rx100m3 for $200 off craigslist, came in box with everythingI got a fuji x-t2 with 6 OEM batteries and all original accessories last year off ebay for $450, it was a good deal at the time and the price has since gone upI got a XF35mmF1.4 for $300 after getting partially refunded by the seller because they fucked up the packaging, the lens tests very sharp still so no worry thereIt's nice knowing that if I decide to sell all my camera gear that I'll end up with more money than I started
Fuji x-t100 + 15-45mm for 240 bucks in early 2020
Olympus mju limited edition (chrome) mint in box for 5 euros.
5D mk1 with 50 1.4 usm for 300euros back in 2015. Both working perfectly.And in 2017 5D mk3 for 1k with 4k shutter count, 5 batteries. Recently sold it to friend for 850 so I don't feel to bad, got R5 instead.
I got a d3200 for $30No battery and messed up ovf focus which I fixed with a ziptiePaired it with a bottom of the price range 18-135mm DX lens for like $45 and a looot of shipping
>>3852095I once bought a used canon 24-70 IS USM L 4 for $300
>>3852095Most of my great deals are from pre-2010 when good film gear was still cheap as chips on eBay. In 2008, I bought an RZ67 kit with the 110mm for $410. That same year I bought a minty 500C/M with the 80mm and 2 magazines for about $650. The best deal I ever got though was a Rolleiflex 3.5E Planar for $195 in 2012. Seller was contacted by about 5 other buyers after me and I just got lucky to be the first. The camera was filthy and hadn't been used since the early 90s, but the lens and physical condition was pristine. A few years ago I bought another 3.5E Schneider as a backup for $650 from Jimmy Koh, when there was a breif lull in Rollei prices. Not bad considering it had a CLA and upgraded screen. Last year I got a Rollei 6006 kit with 2 batteries and magazines & the 80mm from Germany, when the exchange was $1.07/€1. With postage it was only about $500. I also got a Sony RX1 for $600 shipped, but only because the seller listed it as an RX1R and I was able to get a $50 partial refund. But yeah, the Internet's a barren wasteland for good deals nowadays. You might find a wildly good deal on KEH or eBay, but they're so rare now. Craigslist boomers don't post that much anymore due to 'rona. You have to ask yourself if it's worth the time spent on lurking.
I was happy with this price. Order was 722 after tax/shipping
I paid 2/3 the market rate for a KB Canham DLC45 from some guy in his 70's who took pity on me. He said something sad, like "I don't think I'll ever be taking advantage of its portability again." Included was the adapter for Technika boards, which is probably worth another 1-200$ USD. Really nice fella.
Sony 85mm 1.8 new from JB HiFi back when there was a shortage and they only just got the one in, they gave it to me for like $760 AUD lmaoAlso picked up a Nikon F100 many years ago for $20, sold it for like $100
Not exactly a score but wondering if its a good deal>Olympus EM5-mark II>40-150mm 4-5.6>25mm 1.8>factory flash, strap, extra battery and charger, ectWould $550 be a good price for this? My Pentax K30 recently died. Looking for something a bit smaller and lighter. Im not against the EM1 series but i havent seen them in person so im not sure of the size difference.
>>3852469For size info use camerasize.com to compare bodies and lenses
>>3852474Will do. What about the price quote for said items? Decent?
>>3852095A friend gave me a couple rolls of Pro 400H last Christmas
I am very happy with the almost mint condition Elmarit 90/2.8 V1 that i picked up for €160. It's a great portrait lens.
>>3852095Not a score but some nice deals, a Leica c1 (not af-c1) for 60€ (70€ with shipping) some years ago, and a Canon ef 28 2.8 for 60€ shipping included.>>3852358I'm jelly about your awesome deals, especially the RZ67 and 500C/M, congratulations anon!
>>3852095an isco anamorphic projection lense like pic related for 90€ (common prices are like several hundreds). I havent used it much because its absolutely unpractical and dont even like the anamorphic look anymore, lol.Any one in europe wants it? 90€ + shipping. Would take pics etc. Also have a small rail rig for it.
Leica M10-P for euro 3000 conditon as good as new with all accesories and box + extra battery and extra strap.
>>3852764im so sorry for your loss
>>3852095Got my first camera at a flea market for 120 euros. Canon EOS 1200D, kit lens, tamron 70-300mm, bag, 8 rechargeable batteries, charger, some old on-camera flash, charging and hdmi cables, probably some other bits that I've forgotten about.
>>3852095I bought a used camera from a local chain store and then traded it in at another branch of the same store a few months later and got $100 more than I'd paid for it.
Just coped a Fujinon XF18-135mmF3.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR for $580.Retail is like $900. Perfect condition too. Pretty excited to use it for my next event. I used to avoid zooms like the plague but i saw it for that price from a used gear shop and i was like !!!!!!
I wouldn't call them good scores, but i don't buy news cameras. Fell in love with the design and quality of the XT-2 after buying it new when it released. Since then instead of buying newer cams etc I've just purchased 3 xt-2 used models all under 5k shutter uses for about 500-700 over the few years. After I used my first XT-2 to death and then it was stolen after only having a functioning evf and loose bottom plate as well as some sand in the dials I just bought used ones for the same price as a new ones. Made more sense to me to not piss away money on a worse quality build and OH MAN A TOUCH SCREEN!!
>>3853185nice pickup, take some snaps and share it here when you're ready
>>3853280Perhaps. I’m weary of sharing on here ever. And most of the time file size is to big.

>>3854754Damn Sugar you got a steal there I paid £350 for an F3 HP with the 50 1.4.Why do people always want more for a HP? I mean I like it but I would have bought an eye level one instead and saved the money if I could find one at the time.
>>3854756You live in Britain, you don't have methheads and pill heads trying to pawn shit off for quick cash on Facebook Marketplace like we do here in the States.
>>3854762Oh we do, smackheads and the like.I just live innawoods quite far away from those types. Glad of it most of the time but I do miss the regular sale of stolen or otherwise appropriated goods at low prices.
>>3854763Im fairly sure these weren't stolen goods necessarily. A lot of the stuff I score good deals on are byproducts from a small side hustle on camera repair I have while over the road. Great example.Go look up one of these lenses for sale, I dare you. In Nikon mount. Steinheil Munchen 135/2.8 Auto-D. I found this in a $200 lot of photo equipment I found on FB Marketplace. It was in a bag with a Nikon Photomic F, 28mm Soligor, 105/2.5 silvernose Nikkor and some other 3rd party lenses that weren't worth anything.I did a full CLA on the Nikon and sold it with the 28 for 150 on eBay, then sold my AI-s 105 2.5 for 150 and CLA'd the silvernose one because I like the older one's rendering better. I do all my own CLA's and most of my own repairs, the F needed a basic one with new seals and lube, got all the shutter speeds working properly on it and sold it to some guy in San Francisco. The Steinheil I kept for myself as well. I didn't know they were worth as much as they are but I knew that Steinheil Munchen was founded by a man who apprenticed under Carl Zeiss in pre-Nazi Germany. Much of my equipment was acquired in this way, some I outright bought and paid market prices for like my other Photomic F[EXIF data available. Wish I could find good deals, but in my country everyone is trying to make money, so used modern equipment is barely cheaper than new, and vintage equipment is vastly overpriced because it's all resellers. >looking at Sony A7II>only two offers cheaper than new>one by $25 other by a less than $100 for a three year old used camera>bunch of people selling their used cameras for more than you can buy them newI don't get it.
I go to antique shops and places and they often know nothing about cameras and related equipment. I got a brass Dallmeyer Perfac 12" F/6.3 lens for $25 a number of years back. It's perfectly clean, I've taken pictures with it. Not sure how much it is worth, but ebay sales seem to go $500-1000.
