Does anyone here geocache? I have about 200 finds and like it a lot, wondering if anyone else does it.
>>
>>2586967
Yah I love to shit in these
>>
>>2586986
You are an evil person.
>>
>>2586967
one time I found a geocache by accident and then I left it waaaaay up in a tree by accident
>>
If you violate "leave no trace", I violate "don't shit in tupperware containers". That's all there is to it.
>>
>>2586986
baste
>>2587080
even baster
>>
>>2586967
my only geocaching experience was one time i was really horny so i pulled my car over and was jerking off in the back with the trunk popped up and all of a sudden some old guy and his 20 something son show up and slowly make their way over to my car. im thinking oh shit im busted, but nope they walk right past into the bushes to look at some geocache thing. i waved with my non jerking hand and they continued on their way. and yes i did eventually coom.
>>
>>2586967
I've never done. Tbh I don't really get it. What about it do you like?
>>
>>2587132
Imagine a young family opening up one of this geocatch and there is a poop in there!

You cannot pretend thats a boring day
>>
what happened to the geopooper patch ?
>>
>>2586967
i used to but the local community is very gatekeepy so i stopped doing it few years ago
>>
>>2587180
>local community is very gatekeepy
How so ?
Were they just trying to keep muggles out?
>>
>>2587062
same but without the retard part. I just wrote my name in it stating that i found it coincidentally
>>
>>2587227
did you poop?
>>
>>2586967
i did way back in the day when it was a new thing, unknown and before mobile phones existed
it was actually fun then
now you pay $5/month subscription to just follow an app to a GPS marker and it tells you where it is
>>
>>2587502
>follow an app to a GPS marker and it tells you where it is
How is that different that using a gps?
>>
>>2587572
are you thick?
>>
>>2587642
So its the same
>>
>>2587655
You are legit retarded, guy. Like actual learning disability, mentally retarded, seriously literally handicapped.
>>
>>2587572
Pre smartphone was very difficult to find the cash locations on some random forum...that was half the fun. GPS also only gave grids so you actually had to know how to navigate, which was also fun... now you don't need to know how to navigate nor is it hard to find a cash list.
Now the smartphone does it all and people who don't know how to manually navigate don't have a clue.
>>
>>2587655
yes it's the same, that is what he was saying
>>
>>2587670
>GPS also only gave grids
So 30 years ago you are saying.
Map based GPS has been around for far longer than smartphones
>>
>>2587670
>Pre smartphone was very difficult to find the cash locations on some random forum
this
at best you could like, print off the clues to take with you and hope that its enough information to help.
at the time the clues were cryptic as well, they werent "go here, look under here, its there" like they are now.
they'd be fucking puzzles you had to spend a couple of hours figuring out.

now you just follow your phone's GPS marker and if it takes you longer than 5min to find you check the site and other user's comments tell you

>>2587572
>lol just buy a $400 GPS back in the 90s bro
>ignore the fact that GPS back then only got down to around 100sq meters accuracy
>what are you, poor?
fuck off, faggot zoomer

There is a solution here you guys are not seeing

>just dont use your smart phone and get out a map and your GPS.

No one is forcing you to use your smart phone
>>
>>2587814
Rock climbers pit them on cliffs
in trees
in logs
some take days to get to
all maps, a grid and a compass
--Although orienteering is the OG geocashing.
>>
>>2587858
You have the reading comprehension of an 8 year old.
>>
>>2587861
So you are angry about how other people solve the puzzles eh?

Yeah I'm a bad man. I commit nefarious acts.

You keep saying nothing

the irony is palpable

Is this just a meme insult now, or is it one anon going to every thread and tipping his fedora at people who call him out?
>>
I used to, is it still popular? I wish pokémon GO and geocaching were still popular, now I do magnet fishing and mushroom hunting, but I love me an outdoor activity.
>>
>>2588322
>tipping fedora
kid
you're bad at this
embarrassingly bad
>>
>>2588350
Personal gps came out in the late 90s and pokemon go was released in 2016
kid
if you're going to try and t>>2588350
roll don't be so obviously retarded
>>
>>2587860
orienteering and geocaching seemed to me like opposites, in orienteering getting to the post is the challenge but spotting it once on location is easy. in geocaching getting to the location is gps assisted, then you have to spend time there looking everywhere trying to spot the box.
>>
>>2588455
>muh elder larp
So just one fuckwad then, got it.
>>
>>2588614
embarrassing
>>
>>2588584
This post makes obvious that you don't know how to use a map. I've never been on an orienting course where the markers weren't flat to the ground. Only the children's courses use stakes.
also
Old school geocashes were usually miles from any road. You only needed the GPS at the very end to pinpoint the cash--the rest was manual navigation because it was before gps had map functions.
>>
yeah i love caching
>>
>>2588614
I think youre talking to a bot
>>
>>2588655
Hey I like pitching , we should hang out !
>>
>>2588621
>I've never been on an orienting course where the markers weren't flat to the ground.
then you haven't been to many, having the post tied to a tree is normal.
>>
>>2588814
I tied your mom to a tree
>>
>>2588889
this isn't the /out/ cringe thread
>>
>>2587858
>No one is forcing you to use your smart phone

you cant even get a menu in most restaurants now, they expect you to scan a fucking code and look at it on your phone
>>
>>2589037
If the waitress says they don't have a paper menu I make her tell me what they have.
>>
>>2589037
for geocatching anon, you can still own a smart phone but use your gps unit to geocatch
>>
>>2586986
I once found a geocache filled to the brim with diarrhea.
>>
>>2589296
I want to believe
