Seems neat though at the cost of more corpo owned farms (usually private sellers in this setup). My area hasn't done it though it has finally put its foot down on commercial development. One logistics center too many and even my greedy ass county has had enough of Amazon.

It is the destinations that are causing any problem. e.g India would rather let rice rot on the off chance of being able to sell it west than to actually feed their own people. Many such cases, with many different products, globally.I.e don't throw away food. Don't buy from companies that have a lot of food waste.
