Post a pic from your recent /out/ings and guess each other's locationspic related, let's start off with a comfy picture of Conifer Country
>>2153016Get out of my yard!
I'd post a pic but none of you know my country even remotely enough
I'd ask you to just tell us where it is, but, as you know, I have no interest in inferior coniferous landscapes.
Guess where my new apartment is located
Did someone say conifer country?>>2153058i-is that you jordanon?
damn does nobody on this board go outdoors anymore?
>>2153016Some gay coastie shithole.
>>2153058I was going to say Turkey but maybe that other comment is right about Jordan
>>2155946this looks an awful lot like New England to me but I can't really be much more specific than that
>>2156009I don't think anyone would be able to guess the exact location of some of these featureless photos like the one you responded to and the OP's. Some of these photos could've been taken anywhere.
>>2155999this is so fucking beautiful
Somewhere in the southern hemisphere.
>>2155946New Zealand, north Island.
>>2155999i-is that kilimanjaro in the background?
>>2156107Generic young pine plantation that could be anywhere.
>>2155995Can't really tell if that's an American or European beech but you don't really find beech trees on the edge of a young forest in America so somewhere in Euroland?
>>2156171You have to guess where though
>>2156107>>2156715maine or oregano?
>>2155995>bluebells and fagus beechEastern deciduous woodlands, somewhere where these two maps crossSo ima guess mid atlantic PA/VA/Ohio area
>>2156059>>2156061>>2156113Yes Australia, and it is quite beautiful. This was in Yengo National Park, and the mountain in the distance is Big Yengo, much much smaller than Kilimanjaro but it's probably a lot closer than it looks.Fun Fax: Yengo/Wollemi National Park (divided into two but geographically one solid area) are together about 4x the size of Rhode Island, with almost no roads or hiking tracks, and the raw bush is so thick and steep that's it's almost completely impassible. Much of the park has not been seen from the ground or explored, especially because about one Rhode Island of area on the Wollemi side is basically a gigantic Bryce Canyon except covered in thick jungle. It would take several weeks to try and cross it and only if you're a skilled rock climber. When people do strike out and try to explore the canyon floors etc they often find cave paintings that haven't been seen for thousands of years. This is where the famed stand of Wollemi Pines was discovered in the 90s.
>>2153066clausthal zellerfeld also have fun with no sex for years.go visit werk tanne if it still exists. its the old nazi munitions factory you can sneak into. with halls and bunkers. but they are demoing it so it might be gone.hike up the broken in a storm and/or at night its real great. there are many hunts where you can camp if you set up camp at night.>>2153058feel like somewhere Sudan to Ethiopia
>>2159682Onterrible or minnesota?
>>2159709you sure about that?
>>2159494canadian shield quebec/ontario
This one is easy
>>2159775hard to tell anon, people build follies like that everywhere. could be europe or n.america
>>2159775Looks familiar. Is that the castle near Cleveland, Ohio?
>>2155946Somewhere east of the Mississippi and north of Tennessee? I’ll guess Ohio.
>>2159787Yesssss squires castle Willoughby ohio
Should be easy
>>2159983this is actually confusing me quite a bit. i want to say the Whites but that scree doesn't look like the right weathered granite
I'm in the USA.
>>2159995that's gotta be laska
>>2159983i want to say katahdin but it doesn't remind me of any spot on katahdin either>>2159990there's only so many above-treeline mountains in the whites, and definitely not the presidentials
>>2159983>>2159990>>2160009Hint from below.
Hint: this is the border between two countries>>2153058Morocco?
>>2160119>Morocco?Doesn't look like the Morocco areas I've been to, but I was mostly at the coast, Essaouira to Agadir, then Marrakech and onto Egypt/Saudi Arabia from there
>>2156576>>2156769It's in Euroland lads
>>2160163Could be anywhere, from Jomfruland and other South Norwegian beech forests, and Southern Swedish ones to continental european ones. Really hard to tell from the picture alone.
>>2160154looks like mt hood in the background so oregano or washington
>>2160261Good try, but very far off. I can see why some one think so at first glance though.
>>2160155 Hey I dont really want general regions in the world, I want country and part of the country if possible:)
>>2160286Bingo! Tas west coast.
>>2160291ayy i'm an amerifat and never been to aus but i recognize the landscape from this movie
>>2160264i genuinely cant work out the scale hereare those shrubs or trees
Sure, I'll throw one in
>>2160301>white birch>beech>white pinelooks like northeastern USA, anywhere from PA to NJ to NY to Maine. Not enough features to get anymore specific than that though
>>2160302Nope. Reasonable guess though, and you got the country right
Not solved the former location I posted yet, so I will post one more that is in the same country but a different part with different climate. If you get this one you are good. Really good.
>>2160301I'm going to say near BWCA or Voyager's NP.
>>2160306well then that only leaves the midwest great lakes area: so around michigan/wisconsin
Should be quite easy to guess the region
>>2160163i am pretty sure it's in germany.probably somewhere in the more northern part, since there is pinus sylvestris in the background
Don't have to guess the exact location, just the general region
>>2160472gonna post 3 of this area.
>>2160404Yep, it's Upper Michigan
>>2161087Close, but Sweden does not have mountains like that nor woods like that on that elevation as this more southern than where the Swedish mountains are.
>>2161245Yep, South-Eastern Norway, Southern Telemark. Gave you a bit of hints there.
>>2160612No.>>2160669Yes. What gave it away?
>>2161427>What gave it away?I really don't know, it just felt like PA to me. I've only visited a few times but something about it definitely wasn't NY or Ohio
>>2161427>Yes. What gave it away?reminds me of durr season in PA where you're up in the hills but not quite the mountains and it's just gray and empty>>2160473that pic looks like any good ol PGC food plot i could swear i've been to that one but they all look the same lmao
>>2160597ayyy that's why you pay attention in high school biology class niggas
Try this one.
>>2160177>>2160449Its in central England lads. Thanks for playing.
>>2160436It's the alps, but not Südtirol
>>2161531Definitely Scandinavia, but no idea which country, maybe Sweden?
>>2161879It is definitely Scandinavia, but not Sweden.
>>2161881It's Norway. I first thought around Mjøsa, but I am not sure. The white farmbuilding and red barn tells alot.
>>2160475>>2161427>>2161492Is that last pic in or around the Quehanna Wild Area? It looks like somewhere I went last year.
>>2162035lol no that's a food plot, could be literally anywhere
>>2161874Thought it might be middul, but the sheep had me thinking Wales (=
>>2162012It is Mjøsa, taken near Lillehammer.
Give it a shot.
>>2156060New Zealand, north island.
>>2156062>New Zealand, north Island.Ha ha i didn’t read as far as your answer, but I got it right. : )I’m NZ too, looked too familiar to be anywhere else.
>>2162796>>2162797Not Djibouti, yes Africa. It's somewhere on the escarpment SE of Mailo in Zambia. (looking back northwest, not over the escarpment). I forget the name of the place, but it wouldn't be on a map anyway, so whatever.
>>2162800Nice, holiday or you live there. I had a 6 month trip to SA, ZAM, ZIM, NAM and Malawi, was awesome. Drove Capetown up to Etosha and return. Then flew to Harare for a bit of kayaking. Otherwise just visiting friends and family.
>>2162805I used to live in the copperbelt, but I was visiting a friend and we went out to the escarpment to see it. It's impressive! I miss that slow African life. Shit's stressful in the real world.
>>2163082feels a little like new york.
>>2163577Nope in the use
>>2163611going to guess broadly northeastern USA or great lakes areathe only identifiable feature are the pines, but that coudl be literally anywhere. even new jersey
>>2163943Very far away Hint: it's the same country as one of these here >>2160119
>>2164059>>2160119Poland or someplace central europe
>>2160041West Spanish Peak, Pretty comfy
>>2162792Close, south island Otago. I think there are maybe two or three active kiwi posters on this board.
>>2165684This altitude looks the same everywhereThe only thing that might hint at the country is the style of those buildings Too bad that I don't know what that is Scotland? Montana?
>>2165688You're right, here's another picture that might make it easier. Both are wrong btw.
>>2160119>>2163611It's the border between Latvia and Lithuania
>>2160435Switzerland. Going up to the Kärpf somewhere around the Lägerlerhütte
>>2165692From the houses in the previous picture I didn't want to say Alps, but here it does look like the Alps ... Western Switzerland/Eastern Austria? Innsbruck or somewhere thereabouts? >>2165701Correct>>2165707>>2165692>>2160435Ayo hol up this is the same place isn't it
>>2165719Did you take that photo? Its damn nice.
>>2165775I did. It's a beautiful place at any time of year, although it changes a lot through the seasons. Can you guess where it is?
>>2165814australian high country? id be interested to know where so i can visit
>>2166147Yep, Australian Alps Walking Track, near Mt Erica summit. I've been there twice on day walks (I'd love to do an overnighter one day) and it's still the most /comfy/ memory I have of the bush anywhere in the country.
taken april of this year
>>2166367AAWT <3i look forward to doing the whole thing one day before too long
>>2166616fuck that one's harder than my dick
>>2166616smells like eastern europe but couldn't say any more than that
>>2166665off by one, mfw
>>2166619>>2166665It's in north america
>>2166670LOL didnt even notice, not used to a board being this slow. damn that was hanging for over a minute>>2166675canada then. looks beautiful
>>2165701>It's the border between Latvia and Lithuaniabut anon i already said poland >>2165398
>>2165740Looks like Buthan>>2166380Scotland>>2166616France or northern Spain>>2166748couldnt tell you
>>2165740central rockies, so utah/wyoming/montana/albertagonna guess montana>>2166380Finger lakes my nigga>>2166929norwegia?
>>2166380>>2166944found it>I knew i could recognize those rock cascades anywheret. nothern tier
>>2166616>>2166619>>2166665>>2166929It's Washington state, near cape disappointment.
>>2166969>t. nothern tierNorthern Tier is in Pennsylvania. There is no Northern Tier in New York, only the North Country in the far NE part of the stateTwin Tiers = Southern Tier (NY) and Northern Tier (PA)
>>2167000well duh, retard>he thinks the rocks magically change when you cross the PA/NY line
>>2167040Ok, I thought you were making up a whole new region in NY since people in Ithaca don't like their city being grouped in with the Southern Tier and can be rather cunty about it
>>2167051>since people in Ithacayeah that's just cornell faggots and NYCityidiots who couldn't afford to move to the catskills so they moved to Ithaca as a compromise because "muh wine country"the geology around that area is the same on both sides of the border, though the waterfalls do get taller and more dramatic around the southern part of the finger lakes
>>2166987pretty as shit
>>2156171>>2156767>>2160022>>2163938 It's Galloway Forest Park, part of the southern upland way, Scoooootland.
>>2153016This one should be easy.
Heres a shitty cropped panorama i did earlier
>>2160307Around Bergen, near the coast.>>2166929Looks like Norway a fair bit north of the arctic circle, coastal areas, Troms and Finnmark.
>>2166929Sorry, I said Northern Norway but this actually like Akkajaure in Northern Sweden, so not coastal then. My bad.
There was a cooler scenery where the danube turns but i simply forgot to take pics so here's this cloudy thing
>>2169040>>2169054No it is South-Eastern Norway, someone solved it earlier.
>>2168794similar geological featuredifferent continent
>>2167879columbia river or snek river?
>>2169558This could easily be anywhere in upstate NY
>>2170105Southern New Ampshire?
>>2170109wrong continent still
>>2170135I'm thinking England
>>2170135Old Ampshire then?
>>2153016Here ya go
>>2170150>>2170155nah, but close kind of. South wales. I don't blame you for not knowing, but it is very typical of a south wales forest
>>2170177ozarks or southern southern appalachians? (alabama)>>2167855ughh if that's rainier then you're on baker?
>>2170237Nope,. Ozarks are beautiful, but this isn’t in the south
>>2170240appalachian foothills then in VA/MD/NJ area?
>>2170244Warmer, this is over in the southern Adirondacks
>>2170246>no conifers at alldamn i never would have guessed tbqh, that's why i thought it was southern side of appalachians
>>2170257If it makes you feel better, here’s a pic of a hemlock stand. A lot of typical “old growth” in the Adirondacks is mixed hemlock hardwood stands, lots of maple, birch, beech with overstory hemlocks and sprinkled in spruce, depending on where you are. Would be more ash, but EAB is decimating that throughout the northeast. A lot of the white pine that I see nowadays is old plantations which is unfortunate, and spruce/fir is mostly up in the northern Adirondacks that leaks in from Canada and the other northeastern states.
Since people seem to post alot of difficult generic woodlands pics, I will too. Good luck.
>>2170265Wrong continent and way too far south
>>2153016Somewhere in germany or it's neighbours.
>>2170237closeon Rainier looking at Adams
>>2170341Second pic for help
>>2170341>>2170342Giving me Baltic vibes - Estonia? Could also be Belarus
>>2153016The yellow trail
>>2170265Answer is Norway by the way. The South East to be precise.
Bike ride a few days ago.
>>2171847Norway, around Mjøsa
>>2171914Somewhere in Bavaria or Vorarlberg>>2171840Saarland? Schwarzwald?
>>2171813Holy shit, that’s interesting. Never would’ve guessed.
>>2171926>>2171944Roan Mountain High Bluff, TN
>>2171926First part of this was meant for >>2171847not for >>2171914
>>2172053how bad were the crowds?
>>2172116Not bad at all really, but the crowds tend to stick to the balds on the other side. I rarely pass more than a half dozen people on the high bluff trail, even in peak season.
>>2171952This is not uncommon for the lowlands in souther Norway. Continental climate and good soil. It would be more common if Norway wasnt rocky/laced with bedrock.
>>2171914Did you recognize the area or was it based on my previous post in the thread, which I forgot all about?
>>2169341Neither, but part of the snake is maybe 60ish miles north west.
>>2172366Recognized the area! Next time I see something from Norway, I will keep quiet until more people have guessed
Ezpz, if you can guess the exact place then you win
>>2174000What a cool pic. This is what I imagine louisiana is like but probably off by a long shot
>>2174000jesus.. the slums of liberia or something
>>2174000Gonna guess chespeake bay area
>>2174626>>2174644>>2174677Good guesses. It's about an hour north of Los Angeles in an abandoned industrial area.
>>2170405It's the Netherlands
>>2175151Oh hi, oh!
>>2175171Oh hell no!
here’s one from a road trip a couple weeks ago
>>2175190Looks like the Northern Rockies, Alberta?
>>2175192not too crazy far off, more southward. here’s another picture.
>>2175190>>2175194Gotta be somewhere on the Front in MT
>>2175303nice, it’s belly river trail in glacier
>>2175377Haven't done that one, but your hint narrowed it down a bit lel
>>2175630Reminds me of the poor part of Kentucky.
Yesterday's /out/ing, guess.
Shouldn't be too hard
>>2175630Norway, maybe at Sjusjøen of or smth>>2176128Those are just simple cabins on a mountain plateau, very common to see.
>>2176947>Norway, maybe at Sjusjøen of or smthSjusjøen is where I started this trip, so it's a good guess. This is roughly 20 km away in the Øyer mountains.
>>2176195Fucking Alabama. Duh.
