Get in the Ocean /out/
What's the matter? Chicken?
>>1965204Seen a sign like that right in front of me in a cave in Florida. Eagles nest cave its called. Tons of people have died in there and there bodies never recovered. Pretty scary stuff.
>>1965174No, is scaryGo away squid people.
these are beautiful photos but it's completely inappropriate for man to venture back into the ocean, millions of years after our ancestors fought and clawed onto sweet terra firma. The ocean doesn't want us and frankly we have no business in there.
>>1965218pretty fucking metal. i'd love that sign for my room.
>>1965222My favorite meme of all time
>>1965222based and nice digits>>1965376same
>>1965264It's ok you do you
>>1965376Just go diving and steal it, hell the amount of people that get lost in the cave and die from you taking that sign is more metal than the act of taking the sign itself
>>1965264>The ocean doesn't want us and frankly we have no business in there.Agreed. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-1178569/Terrifying-moment-Great-White-shark-attacks-boat-NZ.html
>>1965174Ventura CA hereever since the shanghai shiver hoax came about every good spot is so fucking crowded. i'm not motivated to surf at all this year unless it gets like 10ft and all the pussies are too scared to go out.
>>1965264Really, the only things that make me NOPE from swimming at the shore are either environmental (contaminated water) small and poisonous (sea snakes, jellies, giant water bugs, stonefish, etc.) or crocodilians. Sharks don't really spoop me except in open water and whales and dolphins are fucking rad but poople who swim anywhere even remotely near crocodilians are fucking crazy.
>>1966674>shanghai shiver hoaxWhat in the fuck is the shanghai shiver hoax no one goes in the ocean why is this other than not being able to swim. I would teach anyone to swim for free
say, how much money is needed for diving suit, googles and that sear for fishing? bloody expensive i guess
>>1965222God damnit this always makes me lose it.
I live in Florida. its a little bit too chilly rn.
Yall need to start S U R F C A S T I N G
>>1970794been doing that shit since I was 11 bro.
>>1965264>millions of years after our ancestors fought and clawed onto sweet terra firmaThis is false. It hasn't been that long since we ran scared from the shorelines. Its called the Aquatic Ape Theory. Look it up some time.
>>1966674South Coast sucks especially. All the tourists and weekend losers from LA and Oxnard shitting up Malibu. Can't park anywhere. Beaches filled with children and Mexicans.County Line has been fucked over by Instagram and all the fucktards making a pilgrimage to Neptune's Net.
>>1970723Your coast is God tier though
>>1971041Humans and chimpanzees diverged about 6 million years ago it’s been 10s of millions of years. Are deep water jews related to aquatic apes?
>>1971102I used to sometimes surf at the place just south of County line called Heavens. That place is pretty good and doesnt get too crowded.
>>1971164Lies. Also, we're full
>>1965204If there's nothing in the cave worth dying for, there's nothing underwater worth diving for, so the sign seems to be arguing from a point of hypocrisy. Obviously a lie to keep plebs from stumbling on the coke hoard before the handlers pay a visit.
>>1970805dumb fucking birds
>>1966674Yeah right bro i bet you hit c street with your 10 footer
>>1965174this its that tranny, all his pic havfe the same triangle and star in the filename
>>1971543The whale now has birdshit in it's mouth. Checkmate.
>>1970805heh dumb bird
>>1965204is water cave ocean?would be like saying cave is air
Went to Florida for vacation. Swam in the ocean, barely deeper than 6 ft.Guy on the docks told me later that tiger sharks were swimming between people. Mfw I remember kicking one
>>1972416Lol nah. I go out at south jetty on the boog. Surfed there today, was like 10ft on the big sets. No stand ups out there, just bodyboarders
I love the ocean, I worked as a commercial fisher for a while. Nothing will fuck you up faster than the ocean though. https://youtu.be/LESFuoW-T7I
Mate I'm in the ocean every day atm. Couldn't dive for like a year and a bit cos I got a bad eye injury and I've lost all my hunting skillz. Scored some nice pāua and crays the other day tho.
>>1975601>pāua and crays the other day tho.Nice bro. You can keep the paua, but man I need to go get some more crays soon. I can eat those tasty little buggers till I'm sick then get in to another one ha ha
>>1975607also, what the shit did you do to your eye that kept you sidelined for A YEAR?? Did you slice it right open or something?
>>1971041Aquatic Ape Theory has been throughly debunked. It's proven with fossil evidence that we come from the plains.
>>1975609Chur man whereabouts u diving? Wellington has been on since Xmas, mean vis every day. I got glassed in the eye by this fried cunt at a bar lol. They had to stitch it back up and it doesn't work anymore. Pretty gay but what can u do
>>1975616I'm in Nelson mate. I just drop a pot every now and then - I've hauled in too many nets to even consider getting in the water with the shit I've seen come out of it. (I know it's a bit irrational, but I can't relax.)Sucks about your eye bro - fucking Meth Til Death crowd shows up in random places these days. Found a bunch of used needles at the local river the other day, useless cunts. One of our mates lost an eye to bacteria in South America a couple of years back. Christmas and birthdays now, instead of socks n undies, he gets Magic Eye posters and eye patches. Oh we have two mates with the same name, so he's now Pirate Si. Hopefully your mates are a bit less rough on you ha ha
>>1975647*To be fair, with a bit of bullying, and so long as there's one or two other people in the water, I'll spear fish or free dive (snorkelling really) a few times a year, usually around the sounds or Kaikoura.
Only subhumans don't enjoy the ocean and you shouldn't even be on this board if you don't swim nude in the ocean at least once a year.
>>1975739Call me when sharkgirls are real.
>>1965174Spelunking should honestly be banned desuDoes nothing seemingly erode at nature and build death tolls
>>1975739I had no idea so much of /out/ were timid about the ocean. Mind blown.
>>1974200luv surfingluv natureluv chickssimple as
>>1965175pretty sure that's a picture of a little toy lol. Waves never look like that when they're bigger.
>>1970741no it's not i surfed 3 hours this morning. East coast central FL.
>>1977921yeah, its warmer now. getting comfy again.
>>1976231Agreed. So should camping and hiking. Besides, people should be staying at home to keep others safe
>>1965174The only fear from the ocean I've ever had is perfectly summoned in that picture holy shit does it make me feel uncomfortable
>>1977891damn those waves are small. looks like east coast USA, amirite? still, the ocean is never not a sight to behold
>>1970804This selachimorpha slaps your diving buddies head. What are you going to do about it?
>>1978379It's the Atlantic alright.
>>1978069Not an argument
>>1965990You type like a middle aged woman.
>>1971041You make YECs look reasonable.
>>1980322>Hippos kill 2,900 people annually>Mosquitos kill 725,000 people annually>Implying niggers are people
>>1980320>>1980322>>1980324wet fins uploaded these
>>1980320>>1980322So is it 12 or 5 dead people? Get your data straight.
>>1980322This is misleading. Horses kill 20 people annually, that's per horse.
>>1965264based. Actually the ocean is great though. Especially when you are far out enough to not see any land at the horizon. Just you on the ocean. Puts the concept of infinity into perspective when no matter where you look it just goes on forever. Water to the horizon, space above and the ocean below.
>>1982196the thought of this makes me uncomfortable
>>1982201>the thought of this makes me uncomfortableThat's okay, it doesn't have to be for everyone. I get that it's a horrible thought for most people, but I find it strangely calming. Being out on the ocean gives me the same feeling that looking at a star sky without light pollution does. When you are in a city in a apartment the world seems to center around you, but when you look at space or the sea it becomes clear how silly that thought is.
>>1982202it just makes me feel unsafe. i need an abort/escape option and in that scenario is there is."woops motor's busted lol", "woops sprang a leak lmao", "woops there's a boatload of murderous somalis bearing down on me haha"yeah, nah
>>1982205>an abort/escape optionI get that, but if you go deep enough in the woods do you really have one there? Or on the mountains? Granted you wont fucking drown there, but neither of these are "safe" either.Did you grow up with the ocean? Like did you visit it regularly or at least for a week or so a year? I think that makes a giant difference in how afraid people are of it. I associate it with happy childhood memories, I'm sure that helps. It's not like your boat is on acid, if it were to sink your body still floats with close to 0 effort. Even in violent waves, unless its a storm the waves at the coasts tend to have a rythm. Take a breath between waves, and dive below them. If they didn't foam yet, you can jump them. If neither is an option, they will throw you around a bit. Hold your breath, you will loose orientation but your body buoyancy will bring you to the surface again.
>>1965174Got pulled out by a riptide without realizing it and ended up being dashed against a set of rocks when I swam back in, clinging to them for a second only to be pulled away, then thrown against them again. I thought I was going to die.Fuck the ocean.
>>1971041>>1975613>>1978069>>1978110>>1978604This is the /out/ board. Who the fuck cares you fat fucking retards.
how expensive would it be to build my own kayak to the baltic sea and would a skin-on-frame kayak work for sea kayaking?
>>1966674yeah whatever kook.
Remember, if picture points towards your right hand, it was taken on the atlantic shore. If it points towards your left hand, the. It was taken on the pacific shore. Can be helpful in order to find these «secret spots»
>>1982793bout three fiddythe people who invented kayaks kicked around in the arctic circle with kayaks built of bones and animal skins. Now, they were inculcated from birth and had almost nothing else to do with their time, so don't expect your results to tally with theirs - but there is no particular reason that you could not build a skin-on-frame sea kayak and do whatever you want to do successfully.
>>1983010Shut up faggot i bet you dont go out if it's over 5ft
