Why the fuck does a police officer get paid this much?!?
>>
It's a shitty job
>>
>>26670622
This and still hope they all get shot.
>>
>>26670611
how much would this be after taxes ?
>>
$97,000 in 3 years
go another 37 years and your pay maxes out at $102,000?
how does that work? 4.9% pay increase over damn near 40 years?
>>
>>26670629
>>26670622
It's neither shitty nor dangerous.
Both are a huge misconception.
>>26670631
Texas has no state income tax, so federal would be like ~20%.
>>26670639
The average IQ of a police officer is around 100. This is genuinely the best job someone with that IQ could get if they want to salary max.
Plus it's a government job with tons of benefits.
>>
>>26670639
It’s similar to nursing and other “high pay” union gigs, yes, you start quite a bit higher than minimum, but you don’t climb much compared to other non union gigs. My union just approved a 7 step wage scale so basically that means you top out after 7 years (and yearly increases are only 1.5% kek). Before this contract it had been 5 step for decades. It’s a downside of unions desu even though it does provide other nice benefits. There’s also no way half the people should be making as much as I do, they’d be fired in the first week lel. Once again, a downside of the union.

>interact with a nigger, have it video'd, have your life destroyed
100k isnt enough
also why is this on /o
>>
>>26670741
car enthusiast are the most affected by police out of any hobby.
>>
100k isn't really a lot anymore, 100k net is the new standard

Wrong.

I'm probably retarded but what are the sticks for?
>>
>>26670857
this pic shows filters anons who haven't enjoyed the great outdoors. its for animals who like chewing shit up

not the anon you replied to.
i live in the middle of nowhere UP and go /out/ a lot, I've never seen this.

The average IQ for anyone is around 100
>>
>>26670611
Many tech or medical jobs here make more and don't require risking your life or interacting with the worst of society.
>>
>>26670887
>buy automatic fluid transmission online
>my dog gets shot and killed
>>
>>26670957
i've personally never had to do it, i don't think we have critters like that in the pnw. simple deduction of the image implies it's deterrent for animals if you know anything.
>>
>>26670965
100 IQ is legit average so yes
You can't be a police officer if you're too intelligent, you don't pass to the next round.
>>
>>26671002
I can't think of any animal this would deter. mice and bear will still fuck with your car. Am I just low iq?
>>
>>26671059
It's the netting the wood sticks are holding up that'll keep the critter away. Porcupines like salt, and depending on the area the underneath of cars are coated in it.
>>
>>26671059
>>26671090
oh & even rabbits like chewing on shit. cars are also cool underneath considering most of the cars will be sitting all day into the next.

>all cops i know complain about shitty pay
>all cops i know stay cops
>all cops i know love being cops and have money??
seems like the police make money being police and not making money simply being police.....if you get what i am saying
>>
>>26670857
Maybe you're not allowed to park there but if you put up some sticks you can claim your car is actually part of the fence? Arranging the rocks around the cars is odd as well.
>>
>>26670611
probably shitloads of overtime
>>

that would make sense, if there were nets in that pic.

there are nets on every car. look closer before i have to open mspaint and outline it. the nets are pretty thin in the pic so they kinda blend in

I wouldn't take that job for a million/yr
>>
>>26670611
FedEx drivers make that much.
In rural areas, not major cities were the cost of living is being compensated for.
Your country is just poor.
>>
>>26671419
Yes.
The poultry netting (chicken wire) keeps them from chewing on tires and hoses.
Yes you read that correctly.
Porcupines eat fucking tires.
So it's a "roll it up and put back in the pile when you leave, k, thnx" parking lot.

1. This is in Plano. Pay is often dependent on area cost of living and, in this case, tax basis. Plano is mostly affluent- when a town is affluent police often take on an added security officer role. They have to be “better” applicants since they are working amongst wealthier citizens and since the increasing use of home security systems police have as I stated taken on an additional security officer role.
2. Thank BLM. Being a cop has gotten even more hazardous with increased liability.

Because once they get you 6 know you aren't gonna have any skills or qualifications to get back into civilian life.
