When did you realize supercars are a scam?
As in they're actually crappy cars made to look flashy.
They're like those T-shirts with giant Gucci (or whatever) logos - it's the same piece of cheap clothing made in the same chink factory only with different branding.

And just like said T-shirts - they appeal only to poorfags with poor taste*.

*actual rich people prefer aviation or boats.

when i found out 99% of them come with a battery tender plug now because theyre never driven at all due to extreme maintenance costs from horrific engineering choices

Okay so what’s the cheapest equivalent I can get to a supercar without actually buying one if they’re so cheap?

or a variety of <100k all in street car builds that are just as practical
>>
>>26669467
They are the fastest road cars in existence, sold at a sizable markup to rich people as a status symbol. They aren't crappy at what they do, but they are practically useless due to speed limits.

This, most supercars are investments because no rich person actually wants to deal with some temperamental car that will just decide not to work 10% of the time.

Shit tier take. 911 and corvette do everything they do but the elite wealth flaunting
>>
>>26670142
Those are supercars for all intents and purposes. If we have to draw a line between sports cars and supercars, then we can call the 911 and C8 mere sports cars. However, they're both too expensive for the average joe to buy, they serve no purpose other than to go fast on public roads. They too aren't bad cars for what they're meant to do, but they're basically vanity items for rich people.
>>
>>26669467
They're minmaxed for performance, which makes them great for setting laptimes and horrible for any other use aside from flexing on social media
For the average person, regular sports cars and grand tourers are infinitely superior to supercars
>>
>>26670183
The 911 starts just over $100K if you have a history with that dealer so they don't fuck you with markups; and the Corvette at $65K if you're willing to wait like a year (unless you want a Z06, in which case LOL). Considering the median sale price of a new car is nearly $50K, those really aren't crazy prices. Plus both are daily drivable.
>>
>>26670138
how do you think supercars dropped to the floor with massive rice splitters do on public streets that aren't perfect

What are you talking about? They're great cars made to look flashy. A Ferrari isn't some chink pos under the skin.
>>

a base lt1 corvette is 85k starting. the new z07 and stingray models are 110k+, depending on how many buttons you push when building it.
Used z06 might start at 65k with major issues, but ones in good shape with under 100k miles are closer to the new vette prices.

>it’s another “real rich people don’t buy exotic cars”
Then who buys ‘em fuck face? And why come around here with such a braindead take, are you not a car enthusiast?
>>
>>26669467
Also the same “actual” rich people who like aviation and boats, I’m pretty sure they are not going to the hangar or the marina in a used Corolla, sorry to burst your bubble.

Supercars are meant to entertain company such as friends, family, and dates. They were never meant to be track cars despite, only meant to feel like it.

Depends heavily on which supercars we’re talking about, and which cars are even counted as supercars in the first place. A McLaren f1, or a La Ferrari? Yeah. A porsche gt3? Not really.

Not true in my experience, they usually go for all three.

The lower trim 911 and corvette models are sports cars, but the highest trim levels for any given generation are supercars and command supercar tier prices.

My Superleggera did 80,000km trouble free. Clutch at 50k that was only major thing. Didn’t have an easy life by any stretch of the imagination. Most of the problems are cars they spend their life driving from garages to cafes and not getting used.
>>
>>26669467
Euro performance cars are garage queens
American performance cars are made to be driven
That's why Euros will never be able to compete with Americans. They lack soul.

>When did you realize supercars are a scam?
One anon made a good comment on what supercars are, a device to get women from a restaurant to bedroom. It's not supposed to be used as a fast car, just a fast lay.

I own a 500HP car an I lost all interest in driving just under a year after owning it.

I’ve never gotten laid because of my corvette. But I did have sex in the back seat of my old Prius.
Make of that what you will.
>>
Anything above 300 horsepower isn't usable on the street.
>>
all nice things are a scam.
Why do we need big TVs? Why do we need new ovens? Why own comfortable beds or chairs? Why even have a house when a tent would suffice?

You get nice things because you want the nice things. Practicality is secondary to enjoyment.
