What is /o/'s favorite truck for 10k USD or less and why? Was looking at getting an old beater for some offroading/small town commuting. Nothing more kino than a 20+ year old truck with some modernized accoutrements imo.

Why the v6 and not the v8 tho?
>>

The 4.3 is an extremely based little engine. Tbqhwy desu it's just nice to have that much room in the engine bay to work on it.

For the anons here who have recommended the GMT800/900 platforms, how does the Colorado compare to its big brother for those years?

I drive a 1st gen pathfinder, (wd21), same truck as the hardbody (d21) without the markup. 4x4 is still going to be more expensive obviously.

cant recommend quarter tonnes for consistent truck work, they're barely big enough to tow cars, but for a daily they're alright, i would opt for a trailblazer, bigger engine and no goofy ass balance shafts

The 4.3 vortec engine is a cuck engine and you can’t go highway speeds and modify it

There's certainly a difference but in my S10 it's actually pretty punchy.
But the 4l60 is indeed a slush box.

Can this be bought for under 10k?

I was actually just doing the same thing as you OP. I love California because the trucks last, and hate California because the beaners do their best to make sure they don't. Seriously, why must they own every single one?
>>
>>26667150
10k?
Any 80's or 90's single cab shitbox.
Put rubber band tires on there and take the muffler off? Half a middle school knocked up. To start.

damn son. how's the shifter on these things? before he really went off the deep end, RCR had an older video of him driving an M35, don't think this is the same model but he was saying that the shifter on these things you basically just have to fucking ram the thing into gear. Was this the case for yours?
How's maintenance on these? Difficult, frequent etc.
>>
I’m jealous of you people who live in places where your cars don’t get literally eaten by road salt and ice sludge, and can actually have 15-20 or even more year old beaters in decent shape still. 15 year old car here is 99% going to be a few millimetres of rust away from being a write off. Fuck this gay earth.
>>
>>26671495
It's an automatic: Allison 5-speed. Maintenance is easy if you aren't an incompetent goon. All the service manuals are available from the govt, so every torque spec and part is known.
