I've been playing the Need for Speed: Most Wanted Redux mod. Are any of the other Need for Speed games have mods like that that are worth playing through? Especially the older games because I prefer the old physics that sort of felt heavy like real cars compared to Criterion Games "drift everywhere, all the time" physics.

About to impulse buy a barely used G920 +pedals+shifter for $260. Never had a racing setup. My only concern is that my desk is kinda stupid in that instead of having legs on both left and right sides it rests on top of a dresser on one side. That's just how the desk was designed and i can't change it, but basically it means it is theoretically possible to rotate the desk upwards. Requires quite a lot of force to do that though, but I have no idea how much torque FFB can generate. Have I any reason to worry?

>>26683618basically, you drive way too hard on purpose and intentionally try not to crash. you approach a turn normally as if you are racing, but you lift early and hit the gas pedal long before the apex. doing this in combination with simply trying to turn normally at a racing pace will send the car into a huge sideways skid.ironically, in a rwd car the only way to not crash when you are completely out of control like this, is to steer roughly in the direction you originally wanted to go, and mash the gas pedal, taking care to stay within the engine's peak power rpm. that way your wildly spinning tires will propel you on a curtain of molten rubber in the direction they are pointed.once the tires are freely spinning and you start moving around the corner instead of into the outside wall, the car behaves more like a rocketship, wherever you point it at this stage it will go, but it's also unstable and you have a limited amount of direction correction at this, so you basically ride the throttle all the way until have the space to turn the car in the other direction. then you can stop the drift by lifting completely or chain it by lifting slightly then getting back on the gas again while abruptly steering in the opposite direction. rinse and repeat.
