noob here with a dumbass question: do you need to chain the oil filter every time you change your oil? I'm gonna change my oil again at the end of the month, last time I changed it I bought an oil filter. Should I do it again? Or is there some way you can 'tell' you need a new filter?
>>26453241the absolute state of supersport riders
>>26453636Yes change your oil filter. It's got a bunch of old oil and all the shit your old oil has in it. Filters aren't expensive, amazon has cheap packs of them for like $10-30 for a 5 pack depending on your model.
>>26453636What does the manual say?
>>26453636Oil has cleaning additions to it and as it flows through the engine all the dirt goes to the filter. Idk if it's on all bikes but on the gn when the filter is too clogged a valve opens and lets the oil pass unfiltered. Also that's a good way to tell a good oil: when you change it and the filter looks dirtier than with another oil brand, that means the new oil is cleaning the shit that the old one wasn't
>>26453636If you change the oil early and don't wait for the manuals recommended you can change the filter every 2 oil changes

I just finished my spring tube up on the old 06 KLR. I'm looking it over thinking of what to do to it to make this riding season better. Last year I found it was too fat and tall for my skill level on some of the rutted out fire roads I used to like doing on my DR200. I'm thinking of installing some lowering links I got with the bike from the previous owner. Besides that some hand guards, fix the faded paint, and maybe an LED front headlight. Though if there's a way to just replace the whole face on this thing it would probably be better given how beat up I've made it. Thoughts?I've already done the doohickey, frame bolts, flush drain plug, skid plate, and luggage.

A better flowing exhaust may in theory improve efficiency enough to increase airflow, but if it gets above (out of range) of the table, fuel will only increase linearly and the engine will run lean90s fuel injection did make use of narrowband o2 sensors, but this would often be only in a ‘cruise’ state and would need some conditions to activate. Modern cars have more advanced tables and even widebands, motorcycles are a way off from this and likely may never see it unless euro7,8 or 9 necessitate it
>>26454686As a first bike it has exactly enough power for me. I get good pulling power up to at least 85mph, which is the fastest I've ever taken it on roads, and the engine never bogs unless I'm doing something retarded like a standing start in fifth gear. Could it go faster? Yeah. Could *I* go faster? Probably not yet.
Anybody here had a cardo spirit HD? I dont really ride with freinds so i dont need to drop top dollar for the super premium mesh vesions. Just want to have enough volume/ fidelity to hear my tunes and maybe talk to somebody over the phone.
I almost didn't ride today. Glad I did. Paint really pops in the sunlight.
>>26454902>air (maf or map)>throttle pos>rpmWhat else there is to it

>>26454728>>26454754Holy shit thats slower than my first car>>26454903Novel take. The first time I rode a fast bike was after 3 months on a gsxr750. My learner bike always felt weak after that. I will never subscribe to the idea that one must master every cc class before to upgrade to the next, if you want to haul ass from the bottom of 5th buy a litre bike and work the tendies off over the next summer >>26454912On my 2008 lexus there was>maf>intake temp>throttle position>rpm>wideband bank 1>wideband bank 2>exhaust tempNot much extra but enough to be noticeable. I put a catback on it, which made it super loud. A week later it got quieter and probably faster
>>26454918Is there even a single person who is on yammie noob's side of this?
>>26454928why he flip like that
>>26454942>looks up>oh fug ids a car :D>grabs a fist full of front brake
>>26454928Who?
>some euro5-compliant bikes are not available in EuropeWhy?
>>26454921I don't need to master "every" CC class. I went from MSF learner bikes to the CB500X and my next bike will be 900+, probably an MT-09 or a Z900RS.
>>26454956Because they're probably sold as California version in the States.
>>26454942He gorilla gripped the front brake probably
>>26454921>A week later it got quieter and probably fasterA poor mixture sounds quieter and thicker than rich so it probably got weaker
>>26454918I don’t know if GB would win this race but I hope yammie takes him up on this offer.

>>26454645hi! :D
>>26454677I got an extra 10 mph top speed out of my SR400 ditching the huge stock cat/muffler, top speed is now limited by gearing instead of power so a definite improvement. It can vary from vehicle to vehicle and can depend on exhaust design and fueling as well. What bike do you have?
>>26454677only if you're going to run a fuel controller/dyno tune.Keep in mind that's what most of the increase on the sales page for aftermarket exhausts comes from. What's more hilarious is how little difference it actually makes even after a professional tune.
>>26455019And you should be looking at curves, not just a peak number. Many will just fuck with the rev limiter to end up showing a higher hp figure.
>>26455023Yeah some will lose power throughout 80% of the rev range and make a little more peak power right at the top.
>>26455026My gn got stronger with the bored harley exhaust vs original one with clogged cat but I think if I could make the current one more restrictive it'll be stronger
>tfw sister typed into google "Gifts for motorcyclists.">Got a fortnine video.>She bought me a miniature air compressor. Thanks sis and ryan.>this thing pulls almost 8 amps, according to the manual.I fear for my bikes electrical system.
>>26454993Yammie noob reacted to gixxys videos, said he had no skill, offered to see him on the track. Gixxy responded, accepted the challenge. Fin.There is not even a question about who will win. I don't think anyone is on yammie's side. He's a classless tool who squidded himself into a porsche, gixxy is a genuine and likeable person. Still a squid, but a better squid than any other, probably.
>>26454983>>26454989It's the best, and pretty much only e-celeb drama we have.We may as well enjoy it. At least it's something different from the usual arguments
>>26455050Can't believe how he did his boy. Not that I like spite that much but yammie is a fucking retard.
>>26455051You saved my picture. <3 She's looking more abused nowadays lol >>26454832
>>26455074yeah I saw it in the archive sometimes and was pretty sure that was a USGI bivy.
Anyone watch Bart? I love the format and bikes he talks about but he sounds like a child reading out loud in class and constantly injects his shitty opinions. Is there a similar channel run by a smarter dude?
>>26455077Sure is. I've been a bear burrito many times in it.
Thoughts on putting a Killswitch on the ignition coil of my carbureted to make pop sounds?
>>26455090Just unplug the sparkplug boot to the sparkplug
Guy forgot to include some bolts for my rear rack now I can't install it

>>26455102call him a nigger
>>26455079Its just another one of those shit new channels that says a bunch of shit others have said before using other peoples images and videos with the only selling point being a snazzy script, music and scene transitions. A bunch of them have cropped up recently, they are like the final evolution of the youtube videoessay and the quality has gone down as low as it can. Hopefully a new format comes to light soon
>>26455109Get a life
im so excited for Ebikes like you wouldnt believe bros
>>26455050>Fin.a few more things happened apparently>maxxy wants to rent a neural location track and sell tickets and join the race>yammie accepted it seems>brian636 might join as wellits cringe youtube drama but I need to live vicariously through this shit because the cold has taken away riding for me. All i have is work, school, gym, and waiting for SEA to drop more info on the zx4rr
>>26455122Don't be. They have all the problems of electric cars with none of the mass/volume budget to offset them. Even a 250cc motorcycle is better than the best ebike.
>>26455107Kind of want to but I still need the bolts from him
>>26455144Compromise.>Hey, Mr. Usain Bolt, do you have the bolts for this rack?
>>26455109>shit new channels that says a bunch of shit others have said before using other peoples images and videos That part is fine, there's a demand for it considering how popular that channel is despite how dumb the guy sounds. I just want a more autistic narrator.

>>26455205I don't know who either are. From what little I care they found a way to expense a track day with each other and bring views to both channels.
>>26455198>room temperature superconductorsIf we had those then fusion power would be stupidly cheap and we could synthesize gasoline out of atmospheric CO2 to keep feeding ICE engines. A fuel truck has less transmission losses than a major power line and a fuel tank can be refilled to capacity more often than a battery.
>>26455209Yep. Basically. Which is nothing out of the ordinary i just get tilted off my rocker when i see anons eating it up like they just discovered WWE.
>>26455205Why bother firing spite when he's just going to end up with spite 2: gixxer edition
My biek!
>>26455230Not allowed
>>26455229Honestly Spite would be a better partner for Gixxerbrah anyway since they have complementary styles of bike they like. You know, like Yammie was before he choked to death on cocks.
>>26455045What is the gauge of the wire?I don't doubt they claim to use 7Ah but send a headphone wire to plug in the battery.
>>26455155Yeah it's horrific every time I'm not signed in. Got any recommendations? I liked ronald finger's GPZ restoration but he normally does cars. Also 49ccScoot for lathe autism. >>26455263>This bastard is loud as fuck. Not a real problem when using a emergency tire pump tho.I was thinking in get one of those really small manual pumps for small trips. I mainly run 21PSI in the front and 26~28 in the back, so a manual pump should do the job...
