put adjustable shocks and lowering springs on my golden era honda last week, finally turned them to max stiff and hit some backroads today. now i know why this is a meme, shit is so hard to unsettle it just turns where you want with no complaint. i usually have to carefully manage weight transfer to do what this does effortlessly

C5 (339HP/3245lbs)= 0.1045
According to ultimatespecs.com

Damn dude your right. Id much rather have a 2400lb Miata rather than a PIGFAT 3260lb GT2RS. Don't even get me started on the 3700lb zl1 1le, such a shit overweight car that gets stomped on by your Miata. The Tesla model 3 performance gets stomped even harder, even on short courses with no straights. Damn wtf why are all these pigfatty cars so bad compared to your actual TRUE sportscar.

Now continue to inform us about how all the record setting sportscars are in fact really heavy, then give us some examples of light sportscars that exist in your imagination.
>>
>>26107803
Nah, it's a good balance for power application without dire expense. You want a 2600lb 400+hp machine you're gonna need to look at aero and serious susp., or all it's good for is drag races.
Because you're basically asking for a GT3.

LS's are indeed incredibly light and compact and it's funny to see delusional weebs use "muh weight distribution" as an argument, but proper LS swaps into cars that were never meant for a powerful V8 are really costly because you have to upgrade lots of shit to handle the power-from brakes to the rear end. That's why a complete LS swap by Flyin' Miata is around 60k. Cheaper to get a Corvette at this point really

Akshually the N/A Mazda is 280 pounds.
With the turbo, piping, intercooler etc it's heavier than the 403 pounds of an aluminum LS.

A full Iron big block FE is about 510 pounds.
Iron intake is 76 pounds, aluminum intake is 24 pounds, so that brings it down to about 458.
Aluminum heads, water pump, brackets and now a fucking big block weighs less than the Mazda.

Engineers aren't morons, but you sure are, and an ignorant one too. Rally cars were supposed to be based off regular production vehicles and you see, it just happens those don't get v8s that often. What's more, racing classes also have engine capacity limitations, and in rallying they happen to be really restrictive. Racing also happens to be very expensive so lesser engine configurations are often used to minimize running costs. Go outside read a book, etc.

Read this month's Octane magazine issue #235. Full story there.
Basically it's a V8 Range Rover with a lot of Audi spliced into it by a mad frenchman who got into Rally Raid and loved his Quattro but found it unsuited to the desert.
It's tenuous, but it's a Group B Audi, during the Group B era, racing with a pushrod V8 and doing quite well.

>>26107829
Yea that's annoying. These manufacturers will do anything to make people stop buying cars and start buying SUVs. They claim it's all based on consumer demand but it's bullshit. They manufacturer demand and then eventually just stop giving you alternative options. No different from stick shift. They act like no one wants it. No it's just that most cars don't offer it. And over time of less cars have it then less people learn to use it.

>>26107870
It's just a cartoon. Don't get upset about it. Delorean had been dead for like 40 years. The only reason anyone liked it was the stainless steel, flat boxy sheet metal and wedge front end. There's no point in calling something a delorean without those things. It's as bad as Ford calling that tiny little pick up a maverick. That tells entirely on younger generation not being familiar with Mavericks but with good knowing that the name sold well. Sad.

>>26108842
This is obviously true. That's why the maverick is good. Most people just like how trucks look and are afraid of snow. That's the reason they but these huge engines that they don't need. I don't really believe global warming but I do think they are wasting their on money off gas they don't need.

>Weight restrictions were applied on a scale in relation to the engine cylinder capacity. The minimum weight was 580 kg for engine below 1000 cc, to 1,300 kg for engines over 5,000 cc

No this is a salesman myth. I have an ITR, it's not double wishbones on the rear. It's some kind of semi-trailing arm setup, made to flex under braking load to change the toe angle of the rear train. If I'm not wrong Porsche was doing something similar on old 911.
>>
>>26109895
Correction, the Rover V8 started as the Buick 215 smallblock design which was intended as the Nailhead's successor.

The LS even got a more-advantageous angle, if the BP was at the same angle the box would be even smaller.
