What type of people actually bought these brand new? $15k for a base model compact that wasn't even fast by 90s standards seemed like quite a bit. Or even if you coughed up $20k for a GSR you would still get dusted by a z28 camaro or mustang GT.
some people prefer a lighter, more fuel efficient sporty vehicle to a pigfat americar.
>>26106507Guys who didn't associate with the muscle car drag racing scene, who wanted something some what fast but was more comfortable than your Camaro or GT. Mostly Young Gen Xer's just out of college, who had office jobs to go to during the week.
>>26106507IT, tech peoplesame as who can afford and buys the new civic type Rs etc now
>>26106507Op you might be under the delusion that the only viable cars ever sold are the mustang or Camaro.
>>2610650790s Integra is based! I mean come the fuck on anon, the thing weighs 2300lbs and makes 140hp probably more with later models. To answer your question I bought my '92 from its second owner, an older millennial dude. First owner was a gen x lawyer.
>>26106507woman in their late 20s - mid 30s
>>26106507And it’s lol-wheel-drive also you’d have to be total faggot to go to the dealer and buy one of these new back in the day.
Mexicans are you retarded?
>>26106507>What type of people actually bought these brand new? The same cucks who buy BRZs, Civics, and WRXs today
>>26106507god i wish i had a gsr
>>26106507people who speed on twisty roads instead of the freeway or at stoplights
>>26107264bro go fucking do it. youre not getting any younger. youre dreaming about owning a honda, just sell some shit and buy one.
>>26106507idk my friend had one in 2005 or 6 and it was pretty cool, stuck to the road like glue
>>26107286i dont wanna pay that much
>>26106633I work security and make only $20 an hour, and I have a Type R.
>>26106530>some people prefer a lighter, more fuel efficient sporty vehicleSo, a Corvette, then?C5 got 30+ mpg highway, a lot of shitter 4 cylinders didn't even do that in the late 90's.
>>26106718Was this in washington? I sold my 92' to some highschooler that didn't even test drive it.
>>26108524was there something wrong with it?
>>26108524Washington yep but I was in my late twenties and I did in fact test drive mine. Hope that high school kid took good care of his
>>26107315You must live in a one bedroom apartment
>>26106507It’s a well balanced and good looking car. The integra type r is still one of my all time favorites even though my car car makes 920 hp.
>>26106507Put yourself in the shoes of a 23 year old who got his first job after college>I get to buy a new car and get rid of my dumpy looking Sentra, nice!!>I want something stylish but still in my price range. Good on gas is a plus too.>*Sees base integra* wow what a sharp looking car>Oh it's made by Honda, one of the most reliable brands in the current market? Count me in!!As for choosing the R over a mustang or Camaro, idk. Maybe it was marketed as an all-around sportscar whereas the mustang/Camaro were strictly muscle cars that handled like boats on a good day. They were still solid rear axle after all
>>26108793I still have my dumpy sentra and i like it :<
>>26106652>>26106718>>26108793I'm actually partial to japanese cars and hondas, my first car was a 6th gen civic. I'm mostly amazed they were able to sell 50-80k cars a year at a premium price point, especially since in today's world it would such a niche car. Different times I suppose.
>>26107315You're just bad with money. If you had any brain. you would drive a 1998 Camry making that shit wage.
the daily summoning ritual is complete
>>26106507>What type of people actually bought these brand new?Literally everyone who wanted a sporty modern well build car bought one.
>>26108805I still have my dumpy DATSUN >it starts, runs, drives, and stops too
>>26108897the teggy weggy on steelies
>>26106507If you weren't there, you can't really understand how bad most American cars were in the early to mid 90's, and it wasn't an anomaly that American cars were bad at the time-- they had already been bad for two decades at this point. German cars weren't any better, but were more expensive to buy and maintain. The small number of Korean cars on the market somehow managed to be worse. If you weren't a three toothed redneck with loyalty to the domestic makes or a yuppie trying to flex with a BMW or Merc, then you bought Japanese, and more specifically you bought Honda/Acura, Toyota/Lexus, or Nissan/Infiniti.So, if you're an upwardly mobile professional who wants a stylish car that's also reliable and gets good mileage, the Integra makes a lot of sense. Consider its competition-- Honda Civic, Honda Prelude, Nissan 240SX, Infiniti G20, Toyota Celica, Toyota Paseo. None of them quite hit the spot in the way that the Integra does.Alternatively, you could buy some American shitbox like a Mercury Topaz, Chevy Corsica, or Plymouth Acclaim.
>>26108897Fresh steelies on a klean kar looks koolespecially a car an old sporty honda

i bought this for 30k even though it can get smoked by a 3k cobalt ss. IDC
that's it for the images for now, no idea if it solved your question, but it solved my boredom for a while
>>26106507I would be more interested in the kind of people who bought 1st gens new. There was no established history for them to go buy other than "its a honda" but more expensive.
>>26112573My grandfather had a '86 prelude just because he wanted a decent car with good gas mileage for his long work commute
>>26109162Japanese cars also rusted instantly unless you lived in a desert climate.
