>the higher you rev your car the sooner the engine dies.
>the more you breathe the faster you die
>>26104553idk about that one brother.
>>26104556not true. my baby brother stopped breathing and he was dead within minutes.
>>26104553bs. not doing regular maintenance is what kills the engine.
>>26104553You can get another car, but you can't get another life. Drive fast eat ass
>engine swapped my 80s "sports car" to an economy engine that doesn't rev high and lasts foreverBig brain things
>>26104582This. Each morning you're one day closer to death, and you can't take your car with you to the kingdom of God. Live a little.
>>26104602Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
>>26104553Try revving to 0 RPM without killing it then
I thought my 90s Corolla was invincible because of the Toyota memes and I killed the engine after a month of owning it by going 100+ on the freeway multiple times for no reason. It still runs and drives but sounds like a lawn mower. The engine mounts are shot too so the shaking from the misfire makes it feel like the engine could straight just fall out of the bay at any moment. I’m gonna focus all of my autism on perfectly maintaining my next shitbox so I never have to experience this pain again. It was my first car, I feel like such a fool. I learned a life lesson and also learned how to drive manual, but it still hurts so much.
>the more you brake the sooner the brake pads wear out
>being alive makes you die faster
>>26104553>he doesnt know about the ol italian tuneuplmao @ ur life
>>26104602I ain't going to heaven, I'm taking my BMW with me into the grave, or it will become my grave
>>26104553>my car redlines at 4500W-will it last forever?
>>26106210I want to put a bun in her oven if you catch my drift
>>26104553Not true>>26104934Are you retarded? Just replace the bad coil holy shit
Not even remotely true, OP.It's shit like oil starvation, shifting gears when poorly rev-matched so your engine suddenly has to adjust by like 4k rpm, gaskets seeping coolant into the oil, knock from poor AFRs, harmonic forces from doing shit like WOT at 1100 rpm in 5th, etc.If the engine is at operating temp, well oiled, and running fine otherwise then I you can rev the piss out of it and it's just not that bad. This assumes a modern EFI engine from the last 30 years.
lugging the engine is worse
op has never heard of an Italian tune up
>>26104558is he ok
>>26104553just put a new engine in it.
>>26104553fucking hell I don't know what you believe anymore. Plenty of people have told me that the healthiest cars are driven hard but well maintained. Then other people say anything over 3000 rpm will kill the engine dead. Fuck I'm confused.
>>26107716It’s a difference between boomers and people who know what they’re talking about. When we think of older cars, diesels, etc. the euphemism about RPMs is true. But realistically, modern cars, inline 4s, they can redline all day (well, maybe not all day) with very little negative effect. The same couldn’t be said about the former
>>26104934Sounds like you're a wrenchlet too stupid to maintain your car.
>>26104561^Based. Mechanics flog our rides because we don't marry what we can pimp. >>26104572^This. Become mechanic. I did. It's fun.
>>26104934So fix the thing. Autspergtards can sometimes learn to focus on mechanics, machining etc.
>>26107716modern cars are well-engineered enough to safely handle 7k easy, but redline is programmed down low for emissions compliancewarranty claims are expenses to the manufacturer, they're not going to ship out a delicate car unless the buyers know exactly what they're getting into anyway
>>26107716Boomers are retarded. Ive been a delivery guy and I have floored the poorly maintained pos till the throttle cable snapped. Likewise just hooning around in old 4 cylinders they are over 3K rpm all of the time. The myth comes from boomers who lug the shit out of their cars for a long time, or they run 20w50 then cause so much engine wear that it needs high rpms to move, and then the engine explodes. If you spin the engine fast all the time from the showroom, you can get some great miles out of the car
>>26104606Plans that ether come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines.
I have never redlined my car since I bought
>>26104934>I killed the engine after a month of owning it by going 100+ on the freeway multiple times for no reasonthat's not what killed the engine anon
>>26104553Not really, it's good to get the revs up there every once in a while to break off carbon and sludge that is trying to build up. I shift around 3.5-4k but will dip into it to get up to around 5k when I'm in a tunnel.
>>26106210lol wtf is the backstory of this image
>>26108542>Laughs in coked piston rings
>>26108557>killed the engineit just has a misfire
>>26108562Scully found illegal things on the intertubes
>>26104553Not really. A well amnufactured high revving engine will almost certainly outlast a nasty low revving engine built in mexico
>>26104558you have won the internet, ser
>>26104553Engine tribologist here, this is patently bollocks and the OP is a known homosexual arse tickler
>>26104976ngl I don't use my brakes or blinkers or interior lights unless absolutely necessary just for this reason kek
>>26104553Revving the car hard in the first 5-10 minutes causes the most damage. But yes revving hard does decrease engine life, mostly rod bearings and such.Cars used only on track suffer the most.
>>26108559I like to hit the rev limiter and backfire in tunnels. Feels gud
>>26108616then why the fuck did you say you killed the engine? if it's just a misfire but it still runs that's not killed. fix that shit and resume beating on the engine until carbon is removed.
>>26104558Was he black?
>>26104553Unless it's a performance car made to be revved, then you actually do more damage to the engine by never revving it to redline than going ham on it.The key is actually taking care of your engine and, if you mod it, not using cheap ass mods / doing poor install work. Except for people that have subaru boxer engines or something, you're gonna get 150-200K miles out of your engine if you do regular oil changes and keep up with maintenance no matter how you use or abuse it.>>26104561I know for a 100% fact you're not black if you own a z31, you're either memeing or you own a 27.95% APR dodge charger / nissan altima with a $100 ebay wing.
>>26110644If it's a performance* wrong word because I'm retarded
>>26104553yep, the theoretical model ("rule of thumb") is: you take a base line example 2000 RPM, you double the RPM and the wear goes up by 4this is one of the main reasons when high reliabily is needed you use low RPM engines its the same "rule of thumb" for life of electronic components with respect to heat (double the heat and the failure rate goes up by 4) >>26104556the very thing that gives us life takes it away in the form of oxydation, feels bad...
>>26110644Hurr durr muh Italian tune up
>>26104572What really kills it is flat out not driving enough. Yes, you need to do oil changes and other stuff per the maintenance schedule, but the biggest thing I seeing fucking up cars is people letting them sit for months for one reason or another and everything gums up and goes to shit. Also not going on long drives often enough to get everything really up to temp. Frequently driven cars seem to go forever as long as they don't get wrecked.
>>26104553This isn’t completely wrong nor is it completely correct. It’s all about how frequently and how long an engine sees high rpms. The forces applied inside you engine increase exponentially with rpms, the higher the revs the worse it gets. The real killer is maintenance, keep up on maintenance and don’t drive around turning 5k+ on the tach all the time and you’ll be fine
I drive the piss out of my cars and they won't die. What am I doing right bros?
revlets cope and seethe while hondaboiz shift at 9300 in shitboxes
