It is happening a lot. Other companies are having the same issue.

I read that bZ4X is a worst EV car because there are many issues - poor range - never meet its EPA range; the shoddy quality, and the poor reliability. The Toyota reliability is totally myth/meme.

The government is willing to give GM/Ford/Chrysler(Stellantis) $100 billion a decade ago. They will give them another $100-$200 billion(inflation adjusted) to compete against Tesla.

what is it actually causing the wheels to fall off, a genuine engineering issue or fuckups on the production line?
>>
>>25765947
Turns out making a new factory process is fucking hard.
>>
>>25765952
but, like, they're wheels. its literally the one thing every single car has.
>>
>>25765956
Yes, but not every single car is produced on the same process line. Every single process line had to be gradually introduced, with gradual process of learning curves.
>>
>>25765967
>>25765956
There's some institutional experienced passed down, but every new process line has hick ups simply because things are different. Even if you transplant highly experienced workers to a new process line, there will be hickups here/there.

Tesla for example had to build up entirely new process line without any experience. So the process was a painful ride for them, but now they're in the mid-tier range today. Toyota leads the pack with old cars but they're still experiencing hick ups. Same with Ford, GM, VW, etc. Everyone experiences hickups.

>>
>>25767034
If Honda sticks with it it could be a real winner. Small capacity, but the pack density is garbage, worse than cars that came out 5 years ago.
Put a modern battery pack design in it and it could have a 50+ kWh battery.

I think all the Japanese companies are still betting that solid state batteries will come out, give them 500 Wh/kg cells, and make even really packaging heavy battery packs still have 300+ Wh/kg density because they think it will be cheaper to produce them in bulk than Tesla's body on battery pack design.
>>
>>25767065
honda is betting on GM's ultium battery tech, hence their partnership
>>
>>25767065
>I think all the Japanese companies are still betting that solid state batteries will come out, give them 500 Wh/kg cells,
Only Japanese company experimenting on the solid state battery is Toyota. Honda/Nissan - nothing. Honda just uses the GM stuff and gets the battery cells from the 3rd party suppliers.

Induced demand is a bitch, I wish we could do rail like a civilized society.
If we really wanted to get emissions down we don't need to mandate Higher mpg ,we just need good public transport for people who just want to get to work.
>>
>>25767034
Honda's battery was worse than Tesla's first car from 2009. When they introduced the Honda car, Tesla's Model 3 had ~2-3X the range for the same price. Its utterly unacceptable.
>>
>>25765881
Those companies are literally bankrolling Tesla by buying their EV credits because jank ass Tesla cars sure as fuck aren't profitable by themselves you stupid fucking nigger. Go die in a battery fire you retarded faggot.
>>
>>25765881
They gave them that money because of the crisis in 08-10 you retarded nigger. Tesla receives money because globohomo agenda.
Where are subsidies for V8? Where are tax cuts for V8? Where are rebates for V8? Doesn't exist because doesn't fit the globohomo agenda.
>>

>retarded government standards
Damn now I wish to see how well would those creative and performant companies show their creativity and performance without government roads they never pitch in a single dime for

Shut the fuck up mongoloids.
Cars do not exist in a vacuum
>>
>>25767135
>Induced demand is a bitch
Induced demand is illogical because it assumes that there will always be enough people to drive the extra cars that join the road after widening.
Low birthrates means that at some point you just don't have any more people to fill the driver's seat of those extra cars, unless you were to import hundreds of thousands of immigrants per year.
>>

Tesla got $400 million loan
400 million /100 billion = less than 0.5%

Its a drop in the bucket. The GM/Ford/Chrysler gettin 100 billion dollars is a way to keep the globohomo agendas running. EVs weren't on the egenda for globohomos, the oils were. GMs are killing your saudi semen that you slurp daily. Thats why you're angry. Its because you're addicted to the saudi semen.

100 billion is because we spend couple trillion dollars in keeping the oil pipe lines stable so we had this war. Because the globohomos demanded oil lines be stablized.

Symbolic picture you retarded nigger.
>For example, a single electric car battery weighing 1,000 pounds requires extracting and processing some 500,000 pounds of materials. Averaged over a battery’s life, each mile of driving an electric car “consumes” five pounds of earth. Using an internal combustion engine consumes about 0.2 pounds of liquids per mile.

But this is Toyota. They're ran and governed by their internal standards so it's a bit hard to believe they'd manage to skip over wheels like this just because it's electric instead of simply a hybrid. Unless the electric motors are mounted practically inside the wheel hub itself?

30kWh battery, with a very inefficient design. Its basically just a compliance car,
Pretty disappointing compared to the concepts of a Miata with a wankel range extender from a few years ago.
Mazda is really just coasting on past success, they need to invest in their powertrain tech.
>>
>>25776011
>The 38hp Wankel Engine will not be use to directly power the vehicle but only to recharge the Battery when necessary
Seems like a meme, but perhaps it would have been cool.
Also, check out the site it was on. Literally emojis in the "news" text... wtf?

Embarrassing that a company that perfected the hybrid now makes the worst EVs.
>>
>>25776029
It was reported on by more reliable new sources too.
I think Mazda just shitcanned it because BEVs with 60+kWh battery packs started to become common, and the BMW i3 REX wasn't exactly a success.

Its a shame, because there are still a lot of places that don't have good EV charging infrastructure where a PHEV is a good option to extend range, and most people don't drive a Miata very far the vast majority of the time.
