>>25471325First for my yellow Suzuki!
gonna go ridesecond for kill chinks.
>>25471321>but wtf why are bike engines so shit that 34k miles is considered alot, i also have never seen a bike with 100k miles while my car has 250k and still going strongbike engines operate at higher rpm, and for longer, than car engines do.more people commute in cars, almost no one commutes on a bike- year round. so cars will always have more miles on them
>>25471339and even made worse on air cooled or only oil cooled bikes. newer ones with a radiator and coolant should last a lot longer
>>25471334No hay campo sin grillos, ni hortera sin amarillo.>>25471339Daily bike commuter chad reporting in. Gasoline will die before my bike's engine does.
>>25471339Riding is also a lot more taxing than driving. With a car you're just sitting on a comfortable chair in an air conditioned environment listening to music. On a bike you have to balance on the two wheels you're using your whole body to turn and control the vehicle you have to deal with winds and environmental concerns and temperature etc etc.
>>25471339>no one commutes on a bike year roundMust suck not living in a tropical paradise, you fucks.

Old (1997) low mileage bike maintained by a mechanic (no service history or bills), good or bad idea? It’s in exceptional condition at least visually.I’m a social doormat so I won’t dare to ask him many questions.
do we like motorcycles because of the evolved instinct from millennia of riding horses? the synergy between man and beast?

>>25470510Hands down my favourite place to ride, but definitely not for pussies. It’s insane. I swear the locals don’t ever touch the brakes and squeeze through gaps that will leave you speechless, and all while dressed in a suit on their commute to work. Absolutely awesome place. Need to go back one day but it’s a good 3 days riding for me. Riding >picrel round the circuit and wide open through the f1 tunnel is one of the highlights of my life.

Reposting sine other thread reached max: Anyone have any experience with parking spots? I just found out I am not allowed to park my bike in its usual spot at my work for reasons unknown to me. Its where I see other bikes parked so I figured that was the best spot for it. Might I add that it is not in a full sized parking spot, not blocking any sidewalk or area with foot traffic. Am I doing something wrong here? Is there parking etiquette I'm failing to employ? Or is management overreaching.

do i need to look up torque requirements to add sliders to my bikewhat if i don't know what the screw in particular should be called
>>25471624So angry! Hmmmmm. No
>>25471626no, not unless its a suspension or engine bolt.just judge it by the size of the bolt you are taking off. bigger needs to be tighter. small barely needs to be more than finger tight.
>>25471644drivetrain, suspension, engine, framemaybe brakes if you're that scared but most things you don't need to know the actual torque.it can be helpful if you are a wrenchlet and have limited experience feeling how tight things should be
>>25471644cool, okmanual says for "remaining screws">M4: 4 Nm>M5: 5 Nm>M6: 10 Nm>M8: 25 Nm>M14: 90 Nmi'll just use these as guidelines unless it's one of these >>25471651

any advice if my ride to work is down a two-lane highway at 65 mph with really strong crosswindsnew rider, don't wanna flop over and get hit by a mack truck
>>25471707Take side roads
>>25471707Wind is not actually a big concern, it's gonna make you swerve at worst, it won't push you over.
Is 3k too much for a first bike (I’ve only ridden the 25 hours needed for the license on a CB500F). It’s a GSF650, 40k miles. I wanted to spend 2k, maybe on a CB500 or ER5 but at that price the bikes have tons of mechanical issues. I guess it’s the market but holy fuck some dudes are selling you pieces of junk for half the price of a new bike.I like the look of the bike but I’m told it’s not the most fun bike around.
>>25471707I LOVE LEAN (against the wind, not recommended for slicker surfaces, results may vary, consult your doctor if you continue to have cock-big pain)
>>25471734Shoulda bought a dualsport

How do you flick the bike over quickly under power? I was racing another R1 on an onramp this morning that is S-shaped and trying to go from a left turn to a right at 150ish made the bike feel like it weighed half a ton. He just blasted past me at that point.
>>25471568>>25471568You got told last thread they're overreaching, and they probably are. Ask them about it, demand an explanation. If you're asking here you're probably too much of a doormat to do it, but that's your answer.

>>25471915Just some fuel pump issues. Also I set a mouse nest on fire in the muffler. Should be riding next weekend.
>>25471958I mean it’s a project bike, improve upon it.
bought some wrenchan tools today /dbt/ but I forgot hex bits for the torque wrench, of course.the first thing I want to do is install frame sliders, hopefully my engine doesn't fall down from the bike in the process (apparently even if you go one side at a time, it can be misaligned and then you need a jack to hold it in place, which i don't have)
>>25472007based wrench king
>>25472011soon. if I can't at least put on frame sliders or change my own oil then what am I? nothing good, that's for sure.

>>25472113Pretty good given the current market as long as it runs well and hasn’t been abused
Do you wave at everyone else you see on two wheels?
>>25471325Leafs ride on Friday the 13th to Port Dover. What's your excuse,
>nice day>decided to see how high up the snowline is>started raining then hailing then snowing on me>almost broke my toe on the way back>raced a boomer on the highwayFun stuff. Did you guys ride today?
>>25472169I try, sometimes I can’t get it. I wave at scooters and trikes too, as long as they’re not slingshots or whatever those gay things areMost people wave back or wave in general, if they don’t it’s probably just because they can’t for whatever reason
>>25472169I do. Surprisingly, it's the Ohio cruiser riders that wave the most, even to a "crock rocket", whereas anyone else on a naked or adventure bike or a ninja250/300 or similar never waves, almost like they're socially awkward or something. Cruiser riders don't come off as shy like that, quite the opposite in fact.
went for a long ride on my gay little 300 today. I know nothing better so I am happy with it. I hope you all had a good day too.
>>25472183No. I spent all morning AND afternoon running around trying to make my bike legal and by mid afternoon I was dead. I'll ride tomorrow.

>>25472169It's all about the nod>>25472183Most of my recent riding has been commutes through suburbia which sucks... Also miss the snow
>>25470568They're good in a lot of ways, but don't expect it to do things that it's not designed for.Yes it can hit and maintain 100/110 km/hr, but it will literally kill your ass from vibrations. They run quite rough in general, with strong vibrations even just around town. It's a very engaging bike, and can be ridden surprisingly fast on tight roads. You'll definitely know when you've hit its performance limit, which in my experience basically amounted to running out of gears when I was flinging it into corners with the throttle fully pegged in 6th gear. Around those kinds of roads it's an absolute ton of fun. They're extremely simple and easy to work on, and are a great choice for learning how to maintain a bike without risking much. I wish it was a naked bike, because the fairings do nothing to protect against wind but make maintenance take longer than it should. From stock, they actually are pretty difficult to ride, with extremely choppy fueling and zero low-end power forcing you to ride at 5-6k rpm. There's a simple mod to the carbs which makes it much smoother, but it still has unusually poor road manners for such a small bike.Overall I recommend it, and at that price it's a good deal, but it has its limitations.
>>25471900whati'm coming from the west and going to schriever in the east, i usually take 94, that's the windy 65 mph two-lane full of dump trucks
>>25471346Longevity on bikes is nearly always a matter of gross neglect not engine wear with the exception of dirt bikes and street bikes unmaintained by moronic owners. Air-cooled top ends do wear sooner but simplicity and extreme ease of maintenance make up for it. It's typical for even an old Evo HD to go well over 100K miles on the stock top end. Most bikes die of neglect and complex bikes are parted out instead of repaired because labor costs are so high. (Do your own wrenching and that ceases to be a problem.) In over four decades continuous wrenching I've seen less than twenty street bike engines completely worn out by constant use vs. hundreds of neglected bikes in motorcycle salvages, for sale and of course brought to the shop where I worked. Top end jobs are fairly common but that's not a ruined engine, just periodic repair. The most immortal bike is HD because unless you destroy one in a fire or crush it they're completely supported by the aftermarket to the last bolt and washer or suitable substitutes.
>>25471924this is where countersteering cucks get all crossed up. the key is moving your lower body across as quickly as possible and weighting the inside peg. it's pretty rare to change direction at full throttle on the track though, if you roll off for a second it'll flop over easier
>>25472330Idk, I like the smell of dirt/organic matter burning on exhaust pipes. Smells sweet, it's nice. This clearcut was a bit old so didn't smell like much.I didn't hang around for long though, there was weird sounds coming from the bush and I was in peak 'squatch territory.>>25472339Where you at? Pretty common here for some of the mountain passes to only open a few months out of the year between the snow melting in July and flying again in October.
>>25471381Depends on my use case but I could certainly daily one since I daily'ed a Honda 250 without fuss. I see no need for an "only" motorcycle though and consider it wise to sample a variety over time.
>>25472353Did you find yours was unable to make smooth movements to do things like navigate around potholes at highway speeds? Instead of a nice curve around things it handles like a videogame. A tiny movement produces an immediate hard angle result. You could be shooting for a nice ( shape around a pothole but instead it ends up being a series of stiff angular movements if that makes sense
>>25472399No, it does exactly what I want it to. Obviously a small movement produces a quick result, but that's a good thing. I doubt it's any different to any other bikes.>>25472382This is completely wrong, by the way. Just countersteer.
>>25471493YEAR MAKE AND MODEL GAWD DAMNIT!If anyone can verify where the custom of saying nothing about something got traction please post.A good 1997 is no problem. My newest is a 1994 FXR. By the 1990s bikes were decently reliable and refined, but SPECIFICS really matter because they're not all the same. Also see make and if it exists, model-specific forums and read. You may find something useful.
>>25471626No BUT if you know nothing of torque "feel" (difficult to teach, I've trained many techs) buy a torque wrench and use it until you gain "feel". The main purpose of torques on small fasteners is not to break them (car mechanics break shit like mad on motorbikes) while their additional purpose on fastener "patterns" (cases, cylinder heads, oil pans) is "torque matching" to apply pressure evenly and not overload gaskets etc so they don't extrude or otherwise deform.Every mechanic should at least skim this:https://www.robins.af.mil/Portals/59/documents/technicalorders/32B14-3-1-101.pdfThe more professional your initial wrenching attempts are the better your results. One must learn the rules to bend them. It's all good fun and saves absurd money such that tools are a bargain.
>>25471662Horrible for nogtards whose caps lock key doesn't work. They don't belong on anything with a Bong pedigree unless they're riding a chav up the arse.
>>25472411my local track has a chicane with a left hander in between two important right handers. about half of riders change body position to the left and the other half stay on the right side. i stay to save energy but when you do the force required to lean the bike over is huge, you have no feel over the rear wheel traction. the first time i wasn't sure if i'd make the corner. the whole "it's all countersteering" thing is a tool to stop noobs from running off a corner into a streetlight. riding fast is mostly lower body position
>>25472427cool, tyhopefully >>25471654 will get me startedi have a lil torque wrench
>>25472438That's really not true at all, animeposter. You should be shifting your bodyweight, looking through the corner and THEN steering. You should watch A Twist of the Wrist ASAP.

>>25472441>ToTWyou got me. i think we're talking about different levels of riding
>>25472460Yes, but not in the way you're thinking.
>>25472440Your service manual will also have a torque table. Many can be found for free download via owners groups, fora and torrent searches. A basic Clymer/Haynes/Chilton service manual is vastly better than nothing but before buying ask which is best for YOUR bike because that varies.

>>25472663Seems fine to me
the LRS is a real 'WOW BADASS!!!' motorcycle.does thaat make it cringe?
>>25473043i like this bullshit
>>25473076theres not much left to do now besides painting it and maybe a two part seat. i wont mess with the swingarm or forks anymore. i want a shorter rear suspension but im yet to find one that's short and doesnt scrape the fender with a pillion.
>>25472339That’s a pretty bike
>>25473086Funny the lrs poster is a twink
anyone here ever send a helmet to troy lee designs for painting?
Best LARP bike?My vote goes for pic rel. Seems like it would be fun too, shame about the price and (probably) availability of spare parts with sanctions now
I have not been riding since 2015.I went to browse on the old guard bikes and some of the up and comersWHATTHEFUCK Happened to styling these past 6 years? What's with the atrocious R1 design. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE EVIL MONOCLE EYES BMW S1000
>>25473121You will buy the bug motorcycle
>>25473121>WHAT HAPPENED TO THE EVIL MONOCLE EYES BMW S1000whoa
>>25473121People with taste happened. Plus Kawasaki, unfortunately.
>>25473121you should see the winglet bikes lmao
>>25473146>>25473121>flies past you
>>25473162Reminds me of my 600 hornet, miss that bike.
>>25472169i wave at anybody that's going to get themselves maimed/killed in a crash
>>25472169is the low wave really just for horleys or is this site bullshiti can't believe i'm googling motorcycle etiquettehttps://www.motorcyclehouse.com/blog/five-ways-to-do-the-motorcycle-wave/
>>25473192Wave at everyone how ever you want you double nigger. Harley guys with Simpson helmets or skid lids won’t wave back. The real Chad move is waving at scooters and trikes. SOA larpers never wave because they’re too busy being 5’7” and riding a bike they can’t afford.
>>25473121>>25473129We are in a cringe age of bugcycles that will be known as the millennial monstrosities by our grandchildren and their grandchildren
So wait. Harley cruisers are just muscle bikes, rippers? I mean that's cool and all but I like a more gentle throttle. What is that?
>>25473208>muscle bikes, rippers? That would imply a level of performance which they don't have.
>>25473210i love buying shit like this, swapping out the squared off tires and ripping it up around stuck up faggots
Rode 150 miles on Friday the 13th and didn't die.
>>25473242it looks like he's a giant in the forest
>>25473208Get a CB750 or CB1000
>>25473249But that doesn't let me lean backHow did you know I was about to decide on a cb650/1000?
>>25473208that's a UJMso a standard "naked" bikethe japs made like millions of them in the 60s-80sunironically the golden era of standard motorcycles, modern ones just look like unfaired sportsbikes
>>25472169Only when I'm waved to. This is how I respond
Someone explain why kawasakifags are pedos
>>25473279idk, seems like shitzuki riders are bigger pedos
>>25473279you mean harley pedosons?
Official /dbt/ ratings>Kawasaki - lolicons>Yamaha - gays>Harley - boomers>Suzuki - traps>Ducati - autists>Honda - girls>Bmw - introverts>Aprilla - schizos>Triumph - men of culture
>>25473292Shit I knew I should've gotten a Duc or BMW instead
>>25473275I think about that scene a lot when I wave at people.
Why do you hate it
>>25472339>>25473162tourist here. That bike looks lovely. What is it?
>>25473344bruh it says on the side
>>25473292The Schizo part hit me. I sold my tuono after it reached higher mileage. Prolly the highest mileage of all never v4s. Now I am looking for something a bit less suicidal for the streets. Would a 2015 Mt09 he any good or should I go full poo?
>>25473353>I sold my tuono after it reached higher mileage>Would a 2015 Mt09 he any goodlol
>>25473353You can't go wrong with any mt09 really. Am a huge kawacunnyfag but I admit yamaha is the best when it comes to ride quality and general bike quality. It just feels so well put together. Get it in blue though
90s retro when?
>>25473345Oh right. Thanks
Did you ever get an erection on your bike?
>>25473386When i had the supercub clone for $50, the seat was destroyed so i got a third party seat. The new seat pressed heavily into the area right behind my balls. And the bike would vibrate at about 85kph, it would cause... A sensation... That was very distracting
>>25473393I see. I think it's time for me to leave these threads. I mean simply because there is a pedo here who always posts child drawings in association with kawasaki, and nobody calls him out for jt. I thought /o/ was different from the rest of 4chan, guess I was wrong. Well, cya.
>>25473398Close the door
>>25473398Why did you post that as a reply to me?Im gay, not a pedo.
>>25473404Plebbit has no pedophilesBut they sure do have a lot of MAPs
>>25473370>no mirror ears to complete the funny looksoulless
>>25471597Well I don't drink so you won't have to worry.I've been riding a lot and bought a gun. I am fucking tired of these squirrels eating my roof and making a ton of noise while I try and sleep during the day. It's time they caught some subs.Been needing a shitter .22 for training twinks anyways. Been lurking all the local pawnshops and the gun library hoping to find something nice and used but nothing, just absolute trash no matter where I went. For the first time in my life, I have bought a gun new, and it's a Henry potmetal piece of shit for 400 dollars as I do not want to bother buying something off GunBroker and waiting on it to ship while these squirrels go full Samuel Campos on my insulation and wiring. At least I can cope and mald by saying only muh .22 chamber pressures who cares if the finish is fucking spray paint.
>>25473356It's hard to write when you are on all those meds. Anyway just didn't feel like I want to rely on that thing after 45k kilometers. every buyer thought it was a mistake lol. Have an R1 for the track and just want something reliable for the road .I do not do much road anymore since friend got killed by SUV Karen. Just sometimes want to scratch the itch . >>25473357I would love a z900rs as well but I just don't plan on riding a lot in the streets and it would be such a waste. My health is also getting worse and worse those days with a lot of tragic things happening.I impulsed bought 4 new bikes over the last 7 years and now I just don't want to do those kind of investments anymore since it just burns so much cash. With the symptoms I don't know how long I can keep on my working high pay high stress jobs. Fuck what did I even want to say
>>25473444You should take off some time and just go touring with your bike anon. Drive to another country or if you live in america drive to the opposite coast. It will broaden your mind and make your problems seem not so big anymore. The world is a huge place. Leave it all behind anon, go for a ride.
I'm about to do it bros, getting my first adv soon, only rode superbikes untill now
>>25473433don't shoot holes in your roof man, gas the little bastards to oblivion instead. You can get those groundhog poison smoke sticks at hardware stores; just add sulphur powder from a greenhouse to really empty out your attic :^)Shitposting aside I keep squirrels and bats out of my attic with menthol extract water. Rodents hate mint. Buy the essential oil and mix it with water in a super soaker and douse your attic. Lasts about 2 years per application I find. Same solution is used on air filters and wiring harnesses for seasonal vehicles to keep barn mice out of em. Hope that helps bro
Bike is running like shit - power delivery at low revs is all over the place and it cuts out at idle. It had about a third of a tank of old (6~ months) fuel, so I topped it up with new, thinking that the new fuel and old fuel will mix and just run it through and hope for the best. Is this a reasonable approach and I just need to keep running it until I can refresh the tank again, or am I just prolonging the inevitable of having to get into the fuel lines and so on? It's an EFI bike; can old fuel affect injectors?
>>25473565I've never had any issues doing what you described with any engine. For stuff that's just a month or two I don't add fuel stabilizer but anything longer and I do. Most engines can tolerate a bit of shit. As long as its not doing anything other than having power delivery issues I'd just finish the tank and then add a conditioner to clean up the mess in the lines that gas left. Did you not stabilize your fuel before storage?
>>25473565It's time to get a new bike anon..
>>25473562I am not doing that to a rental property without permission. I'd much rather just hang out in my backyard and pop the squirrels as they run along the gutters like they do every day with subs then tossing them in the trash.Experience with guns, no experience with fumigation, I don't own this house, it's an easy decision for me to make.
>>25473569Nah, winters are mild enough where I am that I can take it out on a nice enough day, so I don't bother with any winter storage routine - just didn't take it out this year for whatever reason>>25473570It's always time for a new bike, but that's no reason to sell the old bike. Unless you're poor or something?
>>25473576then do the menthol oil thing man, it works great and instantly. Here is what I usehttps://www.bulkbarn.ca/en/products/all/peppermint-oil-17367
