I just bought an M-Tech wheel and I will be installing it over the weekend.

What's the last thing you've done to your car, or what are you planning on wrenching soon?

Put my last remaining set of Volk Group-C wheels from Japan with Toyo Proxes R1Rs on my 2002 shitbox Diamante that's been hit on both sides.
Next thing, oil change. May put one of my GReddy oil cooler adapters with an old Setrab cooler on it for further lulz.
Also waiting for the headliner repair kit (sheet metal screws with snap on head covers to match the color of the fabric) I ordered to come in, so I no longer have the nigger style interior.

I had to swap the entire rear deck as the sunshade was built into it. I also had to swap out the driver side window switch with the one from the donor car as it had the extra switch for the sunshade. The power to the sunshade is just 2 wires that you run to the back of the szm module in the dash. I took my time and depinned the sunshade harness from the donor car so all i had to do was run the wires and install the pins in the empty spots on the szm plug on my car. No coding required it was all plug an play. it was about 6 hours of work.

Because I just finished spending about $2k on maintenance and repairs on it after buying the car for $1500. Granted most of that money went towards fixing the transmission, I had to buy a rebuilt valve body to fix the massive shifting issues. The torque converter kept going in and out of lockup at cruising speed because of pressure loss in the vb.

3.0 N52 and 2.5 N52 drivetrains are very similar afaik and it's a very common swap, especially in displacement tax countries as it's impossible to tell. Afaik the only difference is shorter gears in -25i which is a positive imo.

Installed my diff that I had sent to be retrofitted into torsen-type lsd. Why the fuck is LSD diff fluid so expensive?
Oil and filter, air filter, cabin filter, brake fluid were done.
Lower part of my rear sport-trim bumper was painted black to match the next cosmetic trims I'll get.
Small rear wing (lip) is getting painted black to be installed.
Nickel lines over the doors and windows and around the front grill were painted black.
M3-style mirrors in black are on order.
Custom-made floormats with N54 logo are on order.
As soon as all cosmetics are done I'm taking it in for bio cleaning and detailing, then hopefully not spending another euro on this for a few months.

NO, anon!
No no no no no no!
Do NOT use LSD oil with a Torsen, Quaife or any other type of helical diff! You will literally kill a good deal of the torque biasing effect.
Regular gear oil ONLY! You can even tune slightly by using going heavier or lighter on the oil weight (I have all that info saved but not on this system sorry).
If you filled your Torsen rear end with LSD oil, drain it! Drain it, flush it with regular, and refill with regular. PLEASE!
>>
>>25046060
This, you only need lsd specific fluid with a clutch or helical diff, torsens use regular old 75w90.

I LS swapped my C4, and I've been trying some things with the wiring. Before I loom everything up nice I want to be sure things all work as they should so its pretty bodge ATM.

But then I also drove it down to the gas station and back and the rear main seal went. Which is probably my fault for cheaping out and not getting the alignment/install tool. Now I get to drop the transmission and do it again.

Torsens/helicals: regular gear oil
Clutch/cam type LSD: LSD oil or additive
Somewhere (again not on this system) I have a pic I took of a helical I brought in that someone had used antichatter/antifriction oil in. The shit literally broke down from being continuously pushed through the tangential gears and coated them in what was basically a layer of polymer. I had to disassemble the entire diff itself, keeping all the gears in order, and use a .007 wire wheel on a bench grinder to take all that shit off without affecting the pieces themselves.
Was locked solid when I got it.

Weber 32/36 DGV

swapped the idle jets from 50 and 55 to 40 45
Thinking about swapping the main jets from 135 130 to 125 120.
The DGV was jetted for a 1600cc Ford, probably an escort, fitted it to a Skoda 120GLS with its 1174cc of Czechoslovakian fury. It ran rich with the ford jettings, but it still ran and surprisingly good too, but didn't manage to pass inspection with the bigger idle jets, probably due to being unadjusted too

>The car feels like a different cars at corners, more lively and responsive, but still won't easily do controlled skids, think it's because of that?
What's the actual behavior? Is it pushing a lot? Or are you losing the rear end? Helicals do behave quite differently from cam-lock and clutch type LSDs, but I've always been able to perform controlled slides after learning them.

You must know that you're over paying right? If you are at least aware and are doing it for the maintenance records than sure but boy....

Last thing I did for my car is just wash the weathertech floor mats for my glk.
Before that was change the aux battery on it. Will need to change spark plugs on that once they arrive. And replace rear brake sensors.

My slk roof is leaking hydraulic fluid, so I will have to replace the O ring in the front lock cylinder. Hardtop convertibles are not without issues. Will take the time to lube up the convertible top seals as well.

My clk w209 coupe still has a parasitic draw, probably coming from one or both of the seat control modules. Also has the srs light on. Common issues for that old platform which I knowingly bought for cheap. Car runs solid. Shares the same engine as my slk, m113, both the amg 5.4L v8's.

I sold my 2013 S5 and got a 2015 STI.

The previous owner did some really nice, expensive, and tasteful mods. There was ONE mod that I did not care for, and I more or less reverted it back to stock.

Basically, he had one of those lightweight odyssey batteries with a special bracket (He probably spent $300+ on the whole kit).

I removed it, and put the stock mount/bracket in with a 650CCA AGM battery. I care less about losing 20lbs, and more about the ability to start my car in the winter. lol

Oh, and I installed one of those defroster Cobb AP mount things.

I also put some felt on a piece of trim that rattle on cold starts. I'll check to see if it worked tomorrow morning.

I'm not trying to troll or be an ass, but if I remember correctly (because I've run Odyssey batteries in three of my cars) 650CCA is right around the same amount as the smallest battery Odyssey makes. You didn't gain anything except bulk, unless I'm misunderstanding.

One tip though:
Invest in a Battery Tender or other good, intelligent charger designed for AGMs. Nothing kills an AGM faster than occasionally letting it go dead. Always keep on an intelligent charger if you're not driving it daily.

I've been considering one of the Odysseys that's like two sizes up from the 680 for my Diamante, to give me room to route my own intake by it and down behind the headlamp. That's where the Odysseys have a use: trying to fit things.

Castrol 75-140.
The car pushes when I give it gas mid-corner, it's quite good and has tons of grip. I need to really try to get the tail out, I assumed it was because of relatively sticky tyres and overall heavy car on otherwise stock engine, power mods will be the last thing I do on this.
When I did try a few times on the road the car threw the tail out very progressively and predictably. When I tried on an empty parking lot, it was only slightly better than open diff, it would wheel hop like crazy then spin out, but that was a concrete yard with very 'rough' surface. I haven't really pushed it alot on the road though since I want to get familiar with it first.
I'll call the machine shop again on Monday and ask them, also the local specialised bmw garage, the old boomer that owns it knows everything there is to know about this stuff.

If it's the Syntrax, it absolutely doesn't belong in a Torsen diff, and your torque biasing isn't working fully. Castrol Syntrax has antichatter additive in it for plate/clutch type LSDs, and that's what you don't want in a Torsen unit.
>The car pushes when I give it gas mid-corner
That's a characteristic of Torsens. Once you learn the diff you'll be able to perform controlled/prolonged slides.
But from other parts of your reply it sounds as though something isn't right. I really would drain, flush and refill the diff with non-LSD oil. Personally, I think the shop that sold you on it should pick up the bill at least for the new conventional oil, but if you've gotten good work from them on other things, you may not wish to piss them off.

Actually, here. If you decide to change out the oil, and the particular Torsen you bought has port widows around the OD of the main body (some brands do some dont), this is what I would do:
Start by picking up two or three cans of Lectramotive spray electrical cleaner. It's as strong a spray solvent as you want to go as far as rubber seals are concerned.
Drain the diff.
Jack the rear end of the car up (jackstands and front wheel choks of course).
Leaving the drain plug out, remove the fill plug (this is assuming the fill port of your diff faces the diff/rear of the car).
Use a light to see if one of the windows in the body of the diff is at least halfway facing you. If not, rotate the drive shaft so the diff turns until one is.
Hose that bitch down with the Lectramotive. If you have a friend/helper, have them turn one wheel while you do so. This will allow the solvent to get in through the tangential gears inside the diff.
Rotate the entire rear end again until the next window lines up with fill port, and repeat.
Continue this for at least once for every window. The more times you do it, the better.
Let the rear end back down, allowing the Lectramotive that has accumulated in the nose of the diff housing to drain, then spray more in again to try and flush that remaining antichatter additive out.
Once that finishes draining, immediately put the drain plug back in, and refill the diff but with conventional non-LSD oil.
Draining that oil and doing a refill after driving, I would recommend.
Costly, yeah, but better than the diff being fucked and not working correctly.

I bought a tractor supply 75 gallon fuel cell and 15gpm pump for my truck courtesy of my company. The fuel delivery company I hired is sogshit. The driver showed up drunk on Friday.
Just installed it. The aluminum ford uses for their beds is easier to drill through than wood.
