>>
>>25044161
this. wtf is toyota doing making these in auto?
>>
park your crypto up your ass you faggot
>>
>>25044173
the auto in it isn't even bad but buying that and not getting the manual is just a total waste.

>auto GR86
>dealer markup
>already has 300 miles (likely dipshits at the dealership joyriding)
this is a mistake. Find a manual at MSRP with 0 miles

its a manual
>>
>>25044202
>>
>>25044205
buy new or not at all
thing was probably beat the fuck out of in the first 300 miles without proper break in procedure.
>>
>>25044154
> That'll be a $6,000 stealership markup + tip
Fuck that
>>
>>25044205
just keep in mind Toyota designed this specifically with $30k in mind. Don't let a dealership gyp you into paying nearly Supra money for a car that's as barebones as the GR86. Guaranteed a plane ticket 1-way to any dealership on the east coast is cheaper than the the potentially $8k markup
build your shit and price it for your area code

>>
>>25044173
a lot of people cannot drive manual and refuse to learn, toyota is just responding to that market that wants this car but in automatic.
>>
>>25044173
I'm buying it in auto and you can't stop me

It's not a manual.......
>>
>>25044240
100% this
>>
>>25044240
these cars are pre-broken in
>>
You can get new for over $6k less. search harder OP
>>
>someone mentions auto in the context of anything that isn't a grocery getter
>"GRRRR AUTO SUX GET MANUAL OR UR GAY"

granted the 86 will never have enough power that manual vs auto matters for numbers, but still you guys are really just a hive mind aren't you?
>>
>>25044154
the auto trans defeats the whole purpose of the car
>>
>>25045479

Yes.

>Buying a BMW
>>
>>25045479
>granted the 86 will never have enough power that manual vs auto matters for numbers
The 86 is low powered enough where the only suitable option is a manual. Cant spin the wheels without a clutch.
>>
>>25044205
You can clearly see the shift paddles on the wheel
>>
>>25045479
>Buying a sports car with an automatic transmission
That's like fucking your wife with a condom on, it ruins the entire experience.
>>
>>25044154
>parking capital gains in a car
>let alone a brand new car, marked up from the dealer
Yeah OP great idea, you fucking moron.

Buy a $1000 corolla and put 40k in an index fund or inflation-protected treasury bonds. You're welcome.
>>
>>25044154
>automatic AND 10k above sticker price
please dont
>>
>>25044154
You should rather get a BMW Z4 or BMW M2, friend! It's much more powerful and I guarantee it's a lot more fun! :D
>>
>>25044154
You're a fucking idiot. You can get a NEW Camaro with a V8 and a stick for $40k. If you're willing to cuck yourself with a automatic in something like this you probably don't care about weight so you might as well take the 800lbs and get something good.
>>
>need to park my crypto gainz somewhere
you're going to be broke in 5 years. people who talk and act like faggots always are, despite any run of luck
>>
>>25045722
This, all these cryptoniggers with their coinbase accounts acting like financial gurus.
>>
>>25045722
this, basically

On a long enough timeline, faggots always lose.
>>
>>25045722
>>25045957
Kek he's gonna have to literally park those crypto gains in that BRZ and put no fucking miles on it for over 20 years if he doesn't want to lose the money.
>>
>parking money in a taxable event
Fucking retard
>>
>>25044154
>autotragic
>marked up
>objectively fucking hideous second gen
yeah you're a brainless cryptonigger alright
>>
>>25044154

>automatic

Get a Corolla, you clearly don't give a shit about driving
>>
>>25044173
the auto has something like a 46% take rate in the toyota 86
the brz only has a 23% take rate though
>>
why do nocoiners seethe so hard? i was just asking about a cool car yet i’m being flamed for investing in crypto. i saw an opportunity and i took it
>>
>>25046107
You're not being made fun of for parking gains in an automobile, but at least get something that for sure has value, that 86 is brand new, and it takes a very long time for a little sports car to go up in value, you're gonna have the depreciated used car phase, then the drift care phase, and then almost 30 years later youll have something special, but it takes time, even cars we see as collectible, such as the E39 M5, sold for pennies at one point in time.
>>
>>25045479

imagine being this much of a faggot lmao

Genuinely, what's wrong with automatic if you don't plan on racing?
Is it pure autism or are there actual significant disadvantages?
I've never even driven an automatic, but the next car I get will 99% be one
>>
>>25047313
There's a tiny hardcore minority of gatekeeping autists who thinks there's virtue in suffering.

You know that family member who washes dishes by hand because using the dishwasher is lazy? Those are the kinds of people who prefer manuals.
>>
>>25047451
>suffering
lol, especially in a car like this, where the simplicity and directness are a large part of what makes an entry-level car fun. For OP's purposes, a standard is going to be far more likely to retain value if that's the game he wants to try to play.
>>
If you're a crypto guy you probably care about holding value and stuff. Cars are usually always bad investments (this current market is fucked so who knows though) get a manual to hold the most value, especially if you plan on keeping it a long time
>>
>>25045479
>granted the 86 will never have enough power that manual vs auto matters for numbers
Isn't the manual actually like a full second faster to 60?
>>
>>25048983
I don't know about the new 2.4 but I don't think they put some kind of super duper auto in it. Why do you even care which one is faster? If you want to beat minivans then why would you want one?
>>
>>25047313
If you don't want to have fun with then get a corolla
>>
>>25047313
I would rather suffer 99% of time time with a manual and really enjoy the 1% of time that matters over driving comfortably 99% of the time in an automatic and ruing that I bought the wrong transmission the 1% of time I want to have fun with the car
just buy a camry if you don't want to have fun with it, or have the money for an actually fun automatic
