Wtf why? First time I know Aussie have such a hard on for Porsche
>>
>>25034991
cause cars are stupid expensive here, especially when they are expensive enough to be hit by the luxury car tax

A new base model Turbo is $453,124. Of that, $88,608.92 is LCT.
The vehicle price (excluding LCT) of $364,515.08 has more fees and charges (registration etc)

Also all LHD cars under 30 years old must be converted to RHD before being driven on the road which costs big dollars
>>
Superb car.

Gotta love OP flexing on the poors who cant afford a nice car or food.
>>
>>25035826
that's only some states though, most of aus has dogshit rules about this but we have fucken dog shit rules. All vehicles have to meet their state's roadworthy rules + ADR compliance, but then some states have no restrictions on minimum age, others do:
>qld: 30 years
>nsw: 30 years
>vic: 30 years, 25 with club permit
>wa: 15 years
>sa: since july 1 last year, no age restriction, can be driven up to 90 days on conditional rego
>nt: no age restriction
>tas: no age restriction, conditional rego
To add to the confusion "rare" models (something like less than X number produced over a given number of years or something like that) dont need rhd conversion, common overseas models imported under SEVS like a challenger, tundra, corvette etc. need to be converted to rhd at the same time as the usual compliance work
>>
>>25032496

Really? I picked up a beamer with 350hp and 5 days later I started babby hooning in a notorious traffic trap area of my town
>tiny tire squeal blip at light and turned left
and the cop pulled me over and i explained I was being a retard due to just getting the car, checked the registration and saw it was new and prior tickets (none cause somehow mentioning prior military makes these high and tight haircut cops nut) explained to me how it would technically be a reckless driving charge if I did it again and he let me go with a warning. Maybe he hated Porsche drivers. Understandable. I feel like 80% of cops would understand the feeling of getting a new scootmobile and let you get with a warning. Damn

CA. Driving through the desert in a straight line with nobody around. Good thing he didn't catch me doing 150 earlier. Wrote me for going 25 over. Cop was weird, it was like he was high or something. I told him I just bought the car several times. He comes back with the ticket and then goes "huh, you just bought this car?"

Whatever, I just paid it nbd.

well vote out the government that scrapped the planned grey/parallel import law changes because there in bed with the car sales industry. if you can't work out who that is it's the lnp. labor had finished the details and were about to introduce it then a few months after the election the lnp binned it. parallel imports would have driven second hand prices and ridiculous profit margins down.
>>
>>25046154
yeah i never vote for lnp, funnily enough a lot of immigrants vote for them once they settle down in this country lel. labor isn't great either, but still better than lnp

they act like they're good because every news paper and commercial tv station in the country tell them they are. it has nothing to do with their policies. they only one the last election because labor took two reasonable policies that don't affect 95% of people in australia to the election but it was reported on like they were going to tax beer at 9000000%

>>
>>25046551
Don't do the IPD plenum. Their claims are bullshit, you do pick up some power up top on big turbo cars but you lose a bunch of midrange. Everything else go for it, oh and do the turbo inlets, they are a restriction on bigger turbos, Markski makes a nice setup.
>>
>>25049315
>>25049401
It's already all done. A portion of my intake is from Markski.

I didn't upgrade my transmission but we were shooting for 700hp at the crank which I understand to be OK for stock trans and internals. Still have to get on the dyno though because I have a leak somewhere.
>>
>>25046801

Sports cars or just in general?

Jaguar has them beat from every angle in terms of looks both in sports car and SUV guise.
Then there's Astons, Maseratis and Ferraris that just brutally mog every porsche they're ever parked next to.
>>
>>25050395
I forgot to tag the other guy. Keep an ear out on your trans, the thrust bearings will start to wear and it will get noisy in the higher gears is the first sign.
>>
>>25050617
This is the epitome of someone lacking taste
>>
>>25032496
What job ?
>>
>>25032496
Based and I fucking hate volkswagens.
>>
Cool car, idk why everyone seethes so hard that someone would get a car widely considered one of the best sports car models of all time. I'm poor and I have a tired, almost 200K mile WRX. I'll probably never have something as nice as OP, but you know what? I'm okay with it, and happy for OP.
>>
>>25050749
The guy I got my parts from and who tuned my car has never mentioned that. I haven't asked him specifically either but he knows his Porsches, so figured he would have mentioned it with regards to how much power we could safely push. We were shooting for ~700 at the crank, still have to get on the dyno for the final tune but it fucking goes! Traction control freaks out though and cuts the throttle at higher RPMs so I have to turn it off if I want to use all the power. If not I can leave it on and just putz around if it's raining or something.
>>
>>25053484
Its just a normal wear thing for the 996 turbo trans, regardless of power levels although big power will cause more thrust bearing wear. You can get an upgraded side cover that gives some support for the ring gear via thrust bolt which can slow down potential wear. The way to tell the bearings are worn is you will hear a whine on acceleration that goes away when you lift off the gas pedal. This video unintentionally shows it very well at the 7~12 minute mark where he gets on the highway https://yewtu.be/watch?v=D1SP5igD7_0
