I want to buy my first car, for less than 600 euro and found Mitsubishi Carisma. It's in decent shape, it passed technical inspection few months ago and I simply like how it looks at this price range, but I read about it online and some people wrote that the engine quickly gets clogged by carbon deposit. Is it really that bad? I wouldn't want to get a car whose maintenance would cost me two or more times the purchase price.
>>24722662You are eyeing a €600 20+ year old car that runs and is in decent shape, good choice for a 1st vehicle. Unless you end up falling in love with that Carisma, just run it on basic maintenance untill it falls apart or cant pass inspection, you probably get back €100 from the scrapyard. Every kilometer you can wring out of that old thing is pure win.
>>24722662Yes, be prepared for carbon blockage everywhere, these engines are trash. Find one with the Volvo 1.9 Diesel instead, or better yet, just get the S40.
Thanks guys, had a bit more of a look around and decided I'm going ot go with something else. Theres a 1.4 diesel polo near me, are they any good?
>>24723984Just go with the 1.9 Diesel S40/V40.
