6k seems a bit pricey no?
>>24712429But it does have airplane windows going for it.
>>24712429>>24712434I'd say $4,500 would be fair.

On the road to Texas, made it from bay area to Barstow and the wind got too much for me. I'll hit the desert tomorrow morning when it's supposed to be calm. Upside, got to drive on part of rt 66. Dust so bad I couldn't see 10ft ahead of me in some places.
Dumping pics from the Cars and Coffee yesterday just cause that one anon was pissy.
Boomer owner was dressed in a color matching suit
Guy had bought this a month prior. Heard about his boss's friend selling it, flew out to Salt Lake UT on a whim and drove it back with the only issue is that the air filter kept blowing off the carb. Apparently the little 4cyl could still reach 115mph on flat ground
Made friends with the owner of the cutlass. Family owned car since new, and he brought it here from Canada when he moved. Gonna help him desmog it
Probably the most hipster car at the meet.
30s Chrysler with less than 80k original miles, unrestored. Owner was well into his 70s, and it was his dad's car.

>>24729525>poorfag cope, the post
>>24730099>using discordno thanks

>>24730078> Fleetwood BroughamGood guess, but nope, Fleetwood Deville. The FWD one.
>>24727433No, imo anything on the 1/4 needs to be lengthwise in order to accentuate the space. Possibly also with slanted letters to add an impression of speed. Round could work on the door but then it risks looking like a number decal. So I'd probably either name the car or make up a fictional speed shop name and put it on the 1/4. Probably should have a good amount of contingency decals and the class designation too if you're going to go for that look.
Drac, do you still have the number for my uncle, or want me to send it to your burner? I can only post from his house because there's no wifi at the motel.
>>24730155This it the way I bought it
>>24730099>>24731583This is how it currently sits

Temp dropped over night so I figured I'd get as many cruises in the cutlass as possible. Took it to this super fancy mall and decided to I do valet. Definitely stands out among all the German luxury cars.

>>24731948what was it originally?
red cougars passanger window never worked, because the driver side went out last night I decided to start on the passenger sidethe shaft was frozen and the clutches were vaporized, I got it to spin though, so im going to try to save it, the driver side just needs clutches cause all it does is spin.
>>24732586also can anyone tell me why ive got no motherfucking door speaker or harness
>>24731576Don't have it; will set up new throwaway later. I've got a lot to do this weekend
>>24731948That is a very true to form pimp mobile
>>24732685this panel aint never been off though
>>24732586Those stupid motors/clutches made up half the maintenance on my old man's t-bird when he had it. I ended up taking a new one and filling the clutch housing with bondo; no clutch action but it lasted. In the cougars are the motors mounted midway in the door like the mustang? or low in the door like the t-bird
>>24732826theyre mounted right beside the speaker holes, ive done them on my 6 cylinder car as they were locked up and had dead clutches aswell, but because I had an spare from an f150 and found one on ebay from a mark 7 lincholn for 23 bucks I just swapped them.these are original never opened motors and ofcoarse theyre 40 years old so its time to go through them
>>24731351That car is trash no matter what engine is in it. Never buy a transverse FWD Cadillac.
Has anyone installed a sunroof into a slicktop? Or had one installed? How'd it go?Does anyone have a ragtop? How does it hold up to weather and age?
>>24732890Sunroofs are trash. I'd say why ruin the car but 4 door G bodies are factory ruined.
>>24732890I haven't heard of a single aftermarket sunroof that doesn't eventually leak. Granted if this is a garage queen, go for it I guess.
>>24732913But why are sunroofs trash? leaking? I just want a smallish one, but one I'm still able to stand up through. It sounds stupid, but I like the idea of shooting an ak47 from a moving sedan's sunroof.>>24732926Definitely not a garage queen. Maybe it just isn't meant to be. I figure it would simple, like a casement window for a house, a frame, then window inside with a gulley to prevent water from entering inside.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9jV4s9ykqg
>>24732890heard too many horror stories about sun roofs, unless its gunna be garaged for the rest of its life id stay far the fuck away from that shit or buy a convertible and get it out if your system
>>24732951I despise convertibles, but it seems like aftermarket sunroofs are a shit idea so I'll just forget it.T-tops>Sunroof>Ragtop>convertible
>>24732611>harness Check deeper in the hole anon its probably shoved back in there.
>>24732969convertibles are the best when theyre down and shit every other timeany other time id want hard top
>>24732992i fingered it like i was trying to pull a ziploc bag of crack out of a junglebunnies shitpipe and i sincerely beleive there never was any speakers in this door because the screw holes have untouched paint in them.
>>24733015Well shit pull some speaker wire through then at least you have the hole already cut.
>>24732950>but I like the idea of shooting an ak47 from a moving sedan's sunroof.are you black?
>>24732969T tops and factory sunroofs also leak but at least they match the curvature of the roof and don't pop out as often.
>>24733030kinda scared to disturb the wires behind the dash, its still got the factory head unit
>>24733085the stocker sound system kindof sucks but the sound insulation is pretty good so I dont want to bother upgrading cause im a damn tightwad
>>24733097Shit man just replace the speakers and play some tapes.
>>24733048No, just your average larper>>24733051Alright you guys have convinced me it's a bad idea.Al that said, I'd still like to hear some from some anons who have owned ragtop cars.
>>24733102it still has deck lid and dash speakers that work, and I think it has mounts in the quarter panel skin but they might be empty too
>>24733125>ragtopYou mean convertible or that weird in between shit that's like a canvas sunroof?
>>24733275>shit that's like a canvas sunroof?Bingo.Like you'd see on old volkswagens and stuff
>>24733125Convertibles are only fine under 50 mph with the top down. Otherwise it's just a bunch of wind noise or the top flapping around. The top is aware item, and they leak. Even modern ragtops suck, so how do you think of classic is going to be?
>>24733296Damn that sucks. The sunroof isn't retarded enough for me to do it, but for some reason the ragtop seems so retarded I want to do it more.I mean, the G-bodies already don't have back windows that can roll down so it's not like I'm the smartest person to have chosen it as a daily and gran tourer.I think I made my decision. I'll keep the 4 door's roof stock, but if I ever get a wagon I'm going full retard and LS swapping it and installing a ragtop.
>>24732913>4 door G bodies are factory ruinedWhat's wrong with them?
>>24733724I honestly don't see the problem.
>>24733425You got that backwards. Fuck the sedan, cut that bitch up. Leave the wagon's roof alone. Also I'm guessing a top like that could maybe be a little less leaky than abnormal sunroof just because it's over the roof instead of set into the roof.>>24733579Rear windows don't roll down.
>>24733724Most of us here are 4-door fans. Hating 4 door cars is a boomer meme.
>>24733992If you say so, I was just thinking it'd be nice to have a mattress in the back of the wagon and look up at the stars at night.
>>24733993It depends on the car whether it bothers me,Hate the idea of a 4 door maverick over a 2, couldnt give a dick whether a galaxie is a 2 or 4.
>>24734088I've taken to collecting 4-door cars.
>>24717694Thanks. It's a little demoralizing getting all this shit bent into place and fitted correctly. I'm no stranger to complicated mechanical work, but I'm blown away how much time this is taking me while I see guys on car forums post stuff like "Yeah I'd never changed my own oil before but I bought a welder and just replaced half the body on my truck this weekend." Meanwhile getting a simple floor pan fitting in all directions is like pulling teeth.>>24724102Welder and a little practice and off you go. The fitting-your-metal-panels-together part is much more difficult than the welding bit.>>24724379Why would I be using flux core with sheetmetal? I'm running .023 solid wire with C75 gas.
>>24726144>>24726149>>24726226>Always planned to buy a tank if I had the money because you can get some for 30grand or less if lucky>Maintenance will quickly add up to the same price if you actually use it>Realize that where I live is incredibly hilly with very narrow roads and I would only be able to drive it in town on very specific routesWhy even live?
>>24734304Owning a tank has all the expense and fucked logistics of owner a large bulldozer, but everything is harder to work, less reliable, and finding parts is a nightmare.
>>24734330And it has been my life dream for something like 13 years. I don't even like Soviet tanks but an old working T-34 is shockingly cheap, and they're narrow enough to drive on most normal size roads. I would settle if it's the best I could find!I just want to own a tank, man. I don't care how horrible of an idea it is. I would live in the damn thing if it had enough space (they don't).
>>24734376I just think they're neat.jpg
>>24734376>t. likes his shit pushed in
How 2 achieve rake?Is it just a matter of springs? Is there something else to adjust? Does anyone run staggered wheels? Like larger in the back, smaller in the front?
Do different shifters have nicknames? Like pic rel, what "type" is it?It's long and has a bend in it, heh. But that's the kind of shift I want.
>>24734864thats a "bear power top" shifter google it
>>24735000Ah you fucker.
>>24734833Pretty much all that you said. You can also do drop spindles or lowering springs as well.
>>24735400S....shouldn't that be in the car anon
>>24735411Why the fuck would you want all that bullshit in your car
>>24735938He probably wants it up his asshole since he’s a faggot
