Porsche 911

Does Porsche literally make anything that doesn't look like a 911?
Can't believe people aren't yet sick of the same design being rehashed in a billion different variations every year
>>
>>24589729
That's their selling point. Maybe you are just wrong

>$500 oil change
>35k for a car with 200k miles that won’t grenade itself after a year
>>
>>24592317
Why bother with the oil if it's going to grenade itself?
>>
>>24592321
Because you bought the 35k car with 200k miles and you need to do the oil changes for it to not grenade itself
>>

I want a 911C4S!!!! should I do that or am 07/08 Cayman or a 09-11 Boxster? I won't be keeping the cars stock and I will do performance mods
>>
>>24592360
Just get the Cayman forget about all the NARP - posters and have yourself a track killer

Get the '09+ then. Better engine.

>Get the '09+ then. Better engine

How do? I thought all the 997 generation porsches have solid engines…
>>
>>24592881
The DFI units have zero chance of IMS bearing trouble, because they did away with the IMS entirely.
Pre-facelift 9x7s use stronger bearings than the few bad years of 9x6s, but they still have a (tiny) chance of failure and since they use a larger diameter bearing, it's actually much harder to replace.
>>
>>24592334
Before the used car market went (temporarily) insane, I was looking at 996s. $35K could get you an absolutely pristine C2. At that price point, a high mileage TT was within reach. Something with 200K miles would've gone for maybe 10K (assuming no engine rebuild).

The IMS can be replaced with one that won't fail for $3K. A lot of cars already have that done. Also, the 99-01 cars have a different IMS design that supposedly is much more reliable. My understanding is it's really only the facelift cars that need it.

If the Porsche 911 is so great why isn't a Porsche 912 after all these years?
Checkmate sour krauts.

The Gayman GTS 4.0 is more bang for your buck than any other Porsche. It is really in C8 territory.
>>
Should i buy a base 992 or a gt4, spyder? I want it for daily driving
>>
If you don't buy a 911 you'll always have to cope with your car isn't a 911. You'll condemn yourself to spending a life online, arguing in any forum that will listen that your not-a-911 is better than a 911 in various ways. Everyone will know that you're not really trying to convince them, you're actually trying to convince yourself.

The 992 Targa is so beautiful
>>
>>24589596
why does porsche call it the 911? because when you see one you call 911 because it's so much of an eyesore.

I had an honor to work on one

sounds like admission of defeat

>There is an 08 997 s in my area for sale that I could theoretically afford

So close…

I would actually love to have an LS swapped 911. But after seeing the headache hoovie went through with his LS 996 project, it doesn’t look like it’s worth the headache…

The kits have improved and they are a bit cheaper these days, and afaik his main mistake was not getting a baffled sump right?
